Talk Nerdy To Me
If you have a chance to see a show here or attend a gala or event of any kind, DO IT! You wont regret it, as the history simply steeps from this place into the atmosphere and puts everyone in a better mood. The acoustics are wonderful as it feels similar to a cathedral (much like Atlantas Tabernacle but with richer history and clean seats). A show is enjoyable from any level, but I actually prefer the upper balcony as you can see and enjoy the theater as well as the stage performance. If you happen to be loitering after the show is over and everyone leaves, look out for the ghost of Nettie Dickerson that supposedly haunts the second floor... ;)

High quality theatre in beautiful downtown Charleston. Cute courtyard to mull around in during intermission, and historical photos about the theater posted in the lobby. Prices are somewhat steep on a college budget, but there are discounts if you know where to get them. Dinner and theatre package offered with High Cotton, if you want to grab something to eat and then see a show.

If you are in Charleston you must catch a show here! We saw White Christmas and the production was stellar. To be transported back in time in one of the oldest theaters in America is a genuine treat for lovers of culture and history. A very genteel and elegant experience. Even our 13-year-old daughter had a great time. Thats a miracle.

I love the history and enchantment of this theatre set among the most beautiful churches. The Charleston Stage Co. puts on great performances here and we have really enjoyed each one we have attended. The word work and courtyard here are also beautiful sights, with or without a show!

I love the Dock Street. It has only gotten better since the remodel, but the seats are unbelievably uncomfortable. They are aware of this and are originally going to get me ones, but ran out of money. Bummer. Other than that its still my fave!

Excellent venue for a show! So much history... and so many ghosts! OK, we didnt see any, but a Charleston ghost tour app said it was haunted. The cobblestone courtyard is a beautiful place for intermission, be sure to stop by.

Seats are a little uncomfortable and if you arent in the front on the balcony, its hard to see through peoples heads. The performances are fine, but its overall tickets are a bit too expensive for what you get
