This place is a gem. What an absolute pleasure to perform at Steel City Improv. All of the people who came to see the show, raved about the work there. Steel City Improv is run by two total pros: Casey and Justin. I spoke to some students who take classes and I was so impressed by the curriculum. They have built something special here. If I lived in Pittsburgh this world be the center of my world. Youd be wise to make it yours. Ample side street parking and wonderful nearby restaurant. If you want a great Thursday, Friday, or Saturday in Sunnyside hit this place up or take a class! What fun!

I was completely new to improv. At a friends suggestion, checked out classes. I attended the free sample class with Justin Zell. I was hooked. I then registered for the Level 1 class, taught by Chris Wright. LOVED it! Learned a ton and couldnt wait to take level 2. Justin Zell was my level 2 instructor - learned even more! My level 3 class starts in a couple weeks. Either my classmates are all incredibly talented, or the curriculum is awesome at helping us develop... or both. An experience I wouldnt miss for the world.

Undoubtably the best spot in Pittsburgh to experience the artform of improv (oh yeah, and to laugh your socks off) -- whether as a student or an audience member. Ive been both and a performer for over a year. Ive trained in Chicago and seen my share of shows there; I can sincerely say that the level of honest performance and community stands up to that of those vaunted haunts.

They host some great shows that are affordable and a great way to start or end your night. The classes are solid. Events like The Draft give you some great exposure to live audiences.
