Fabulous! We went a few weeks ago while in town on a Friday night. It was a pleasure to dine here. I came across this restaurant while looking for things to do on our weekend trip to Charleston. When I saw they had a live band on Friday night we decided to try it out. Not only was the band good, the staff super friendly, but the food was AMAZING! When we arrived we had to walk into the main building to request a table. There was a hostess stand outside near the gate leading to the outdoor seating but no one was at it. They had a small wait for outdoor seating. The employee suggested we go sit near the band while we waited for our table. So we did. The band was good! The employee notified us about our table being ready about 15 minutes later. She had already put some waters on the table for us. Our waitress was friendly. We had several questions about the menu. She was was happy to answer them all and even made suggestions. I was pleased that they were willing and able to make adjustments to entrees. We had crab cakes (which was pure crab no breading) and a angle hair pasta dish (I subbed chicken for shrimp). We also ordered dessert. I can not remember what type of cheesecake we got but we ate every piece! Every thing we tasted was delicious. The drinks were good as well. Strong enough but not too strong. This place is a local spot that is a step above mom and pop. Drinks are served in Mason jars and plastic cups. Outdoor tables are patio furniture with table clothes and candles on them. The extra seating (around the smaller band stage) were various chairs. I feel this gave the place a unique feel. But want to share this information so you are prepared. It is child friendly. There were couples there with their kids. One couple with an infant another with an elementary aged child.

My Wife and I saw the tall-long-brown-fence with their name and logo signed on the side of it... Brick House Kitchen. We noted the hours and went in for Sunday brunch. Overall, WOW! The outside environment is comfortable like visiting Grandmas house. Just wanted to walk around and enjoy the day. The front porch actually has seating with a huge table/chairs... and gorgeous deck flooring, I could eat off that varnished decking. Amazing. We went inside and were greeted prompted. Noted that cash/check only, and were seated right away to the fireplace room. The eating rooms inside are completely renovated and stylish - beautiful actually. Old world house with tall ceilings decorated and painted to today. Homemade Sweat Tea.... amazing. Service, the same.... never once saw them taking a break. Food was great! Not overly huge portions, just a nice amount for a meal. Smoked salmon was to die for, just awesome. In short, I recommend you try it out. Sunday brunch meal items were $6-$12.

Best restaurant we went to on our trip to folly beach/charleston. We had buffalo shrimp, shrimp soup, bbq mahi mahi and the fried flounder. The food was absolutely sublime. It was so fresh and flavorful; perfectly seasoned. And the service was just a step above. My wife actually said to me during my meal, "its so rare and so nice to feel like a waitress anticipates your needs before you do!" This was especially nice, given that we had two young children with us. They loved the food too, and the unique atmosphere. We ate inside, and we loved that we were in an old house that was repurposed to be a homey yet upscale restaurant. It also looks like it has a cool outside patio with live music some nights. Truly, the brick house was a highlight of our trip.

Brick House Kitchen is a family owed. Restaurant. I just read some of our reviews and I just want to thank our loyal friends who eat with us. I wish you all a fantastic New. Year. I make all of the desserts , I love baking... I feel that the community around our business is holding a grudge because of the music that filters into their space. Sorry ...we really try but you have made us the...UnderDog...OK...we know. I lived in that house for 17 years ...there was a band that would start practice in the storage units next door at around 11pm ...4_5 nights a week ...right. outside my bedroom window ...so I know it can be annoying. Please forgive us. We are just trying to keep our business going ... Thanks. Chris

If youre looking for the absolute best home-cooked meal in the Charleston area, look no further! The Brick House Kitchen has now made it to my top favorites list in the area. Sunday brunch is simply a fantastic experience. The environment is like no other, its a big old southern type house on large land lot with lots of tree shade, all in all - a genuine beautiful southern home feel. Well, it doesnt get more genuine than this - the owners actually live there too; and they seem to be VERY nice people. Very charming experience. Highly recommend it.

Ive been to Brick House Kitchen with my husband, family and friends, and weve had a great experience every time. The environment is cozy and welcoming and the food is great! They have a great variety of vegetarian and meat-friendly dishes at reasonable prices. You really do get "service with a smile" and the worst experience Ive had there was trying to pick from the huge selection of delicious desserts. Oh, and Sunday brunch is yummy, too!

Improving my review since the establishment resolved a serious issue that occurred. I still would not recommend this place if you are hungry or looking for great food. We ended up getting pizza afterwards because everyone was disappointed and still hungry. Pretty trees, thats about it. My sister and brother in law are chefs and bailed on dinner after looking at the menu online. I wish we followed suit.

This place has abesloutly no regard for the neighboring communities. They will have so called music festivals and play the music super loud well into the early morning hours! I am all for a party and love music but when you play music at concert levels until 4am it is disrespectful and just plain sucks! I cannot believe you call yourself a part of the community...

Jennifer catered a bridal luncheon for me. Her food was the talk of the weekend. The tomato basil soup was fantastic. But the artichoke egg rolls stole the show. Folks talked about them the whole weekend! Of course the chocolate cake was mouth-watering good. Ive never had a bad meal... or even a fair meal...at Brickhouse!

Walked in on a Tuesday night and had the salmon with black bean and corn salad - one of the best meals Ive had in Charleston - simple and fresh, didnt try to get fancy like a lot of other places here do. Quick and friendly service - great atmosphere inside and out. Would recommend this slightly under the radar spot.

Tonights salad: nice arugala, globs of goat cheese, pickled ocra, fist-full of other pickles (really?), cellery sticks! 8 bucks (really?)
Tofu/mixed veg on rice: grrrreasyrice par-boiled rice, decent tofu, onions, and blemished rusty cellery sticks (really?), un-trimmed green beans. 12 bucks (really?)

Only thing thats neat is the house. The food was not cooked and the prices are rather expensive. My husband got oysters which were not cooked nor had been washed off; my salmon was not cooked and not very good. They were out of several items as well. Will not recommended for anyone nor go back.
