My review is not based on our tour guide at all but rather the information provided to us by Jeff...we took the ghost tour this weekend ( $25.00 each person) and in an van mostly. Here are my issues with the tour. 1. We were told the tour was 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours long. that we would visit 3 islands and come back. most of our time would be spent inside an A/C van. WOW, were we ever miss-told, the tour started at 6:45 pm and ended at 10:00 pm. over 3 hours long.... 2. there was no mention that would be hiking on such tour, we got to the fort and then hiked to edge of the water through leaves, soft sand, and trying to avoiding branches, almost all of us were in sandals or flip flops and very annoyed. 3. we get the beach where we then proceed to be eating alive by the swarm of mosquitoes. ( again, we were not told that we would be right by the water for some of the tour, so we were not prepared). the tour however was very nice due to our tour guide Ashley, she was very animated during the tour which was enjoyable, she apologized for the misinformation that was given to all of us. she did explain to us that she has told Jeff and the owner that they need to inform guest its a 3 hours tour! Ashley, provided bug spray for the mosquitoes and flash lights for the tour all while apologizing for the misinformation. I also found it rather odd, that no where on their boards of pricing for the tours that the ghost tour is not listed at all. There needs to be a clear list of the pricing because when one is reading the board and it says tour $20.00 bucks and you were charged $25.00 a head, it feels like someone took advantage of you being a guest in their city. I can defiantly will say had it not been for Ashley I am sure the whole group would be asking for a refund. I didnt write this post to bash the company as a whole, just all the misinformation that is given to a customer and this post is written a few days after our tour due I am still very annoyed about the misinformation. DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS ON THIS TOUR FOR 3 HOURS LATER EVEN IF JEFF TELLS YOU IT IS FAMILY FRIENDLY.

I used to recommend this place all the time, and used to bring about 30 guests per year, because they were friendly, nice people and gave a great tour. They must have gone under new management, because now the service is absolutely abysmal. It seems to have turned into more about the money than the service. The last ride we went on, the guide started off by saying something like "There are many stories about Beaufort, but Im just going to talk about my favorite ones." She missed talking about some of the most important history of the town. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Ask for a tour somewhere else, and you will be much more satisfied.

On your first trip to Beaufort, take a carriage ride to get familiar with the neighborhood. The relaxing trip will get you started with the history and how to get around the district. The homes are beautiful. If you prefer to walk around I still recommend doing the carriage ride first or you could walk unnecessarily and still not see some of the better sites. You can also drive around but you will miss a lot watching for stop signs and pedestrians. You will also miss the history and recent stories. The operator was very good and had lots of interesting facts. Highly recommended.

The family and I loved our tour last night with Jake. He did a great job highlighting all the local facts and trivia! He was very upbeat and engaging. The owner/manager was also very helpful, even texting back and forth with me prior to our reservation to easily book our tour while we were walking around the city. Thanks again!
