Am amazing and beautiful museum! We were lucky enough to be able to get married in Lower Egypt. Our ceremony (in front of the Sphinx Statue) will always be a memory never to be forgotten. Our memories are accompanied with gorgeous photos that are breathtaking and much different than regular wedding pictures. If it wasnt for Stefanie helping us plan our wonderful day, none of it would have been possible. She was attentive, informative and extremely helpful. We look forward to spending more time in the museum, taking in all of the new and upcoming exhibits and always remembering the very special day the Penn Museum played in our lives. Thank you.

Excellent, very informative exhibits on ancient Greek and Rome; other exhibits are not as organized but still offer quite a few interesting and unique artifacts to see and enough info to digest. The interactive features are also a plus. The building, while quite nice if seen from the outside, may need to be renovated in some parts of its interior, especially the second floor - it was a bit dark and hot. And I believe that most of its galleries would benefit from better lighting and less reflective glasses.

We recently used the Penn Museum for our Simple and Sweet wedding and we couldn’t be happier. The lower Sphinx Gallery provided a fabulous back drop for our ceremony. Stefanie was very friendly, responsive to our many questions, and helped us make our day perfect. The staff was very accommodating to us by assisting with set up. We could not have asked for a better location as our guests continue to talk about how perfect the ceremony was.

I was visiting my mother at the nearby hospital and was wondering about the museum. Not only was the attendant very accommodating with the price, but I found some of the most marvelous collections of archeology and anthropology i have ever seen. The building itself is beautiful and now I am going back for a very interesting lecture series. Overall one of THE best museums in Philadelphia

A great little museum especially if you want to sample various ancient cultures. Plenty of Greek, Roman, Asian, Etruscan, African and native American treasures. There are others, too. There is a sphinx and a gift shop to take a treasure of your own home. I went twice in one month and I could totally go back again and enjoy myself. Avoid the cafeteria, the food was substandard

Dont plan to drive here unless you are prepared to pay a $21 flat fee for parking. Thats right, $21 for two hours or all day. Is not there an educational mission lost here? (Due to area congestion, free on-street parking really is not an option.) Perhaps we will make another foray by public transportation, but this trip was aborted on principle -- for what thats worth.

Such a cool place!! This was by far one of the best places we visited while living in PA. Soooo so so much history and it was just absolutely packed, wall to wall, floor to ceiling with incredible artifacts. Theres something here for everyone and the interactive exhibits were a nice touch. Easy to get to, decent parking structure around the corner and peaceful.

Fabulous Museum, Intriguing Collection Im so glad I made the choice to visit Penn Museum. The Egyptian collection alone was well worth it. The archeological exhibits are awe-inspiring. The atmosphere is magical. I also enjoyed the Canaan exhibits immensely. The China and Japan area is interesting too. Very impressed.

Must see in philly. Got worlds fourth largest sphinx inside a museum, and lots of real stuff from Egypt, a giant statue of Rameses II some real mummies of human and animals. And stone statues. Very very impressive. Regret that I didnt bring my parents there while they were visiting the penn campus

One of my favorite museums. It isnt located on Museum Row, so I fear it is missed by most visitors. But youll find a beautiful, diverse museum with stunning permanent exhibits. Their Egyptian hall is worth a visit alone. Make this one of your must-visit museums when in Philadelphia.

You would think that they could afford air conditioning: no. The docent for the tour did not show up. We waited about 1 hour. A poor excuse for a university museum. Try the Princeton University Museum: its great, free, and the docents show up for the free tours.

Not a big museum but had some very nice pieces. The section on mummies was really fascinating. They had a forensic approach: with xrays and analysis of possible causes of death, all very well explained in detail. No AC it seemed. The halls were very warm.

Not too big but have great exhibitions. We were mainly there to see the Two Chinese Taizong horses that were separated from the other four that is exhibiting in Shaanxi, Xian, China. But other parts we saw there were also amazing, like the Egyptian part.

This place is one of the best museum in philly because it has so many things to learn from about cultures from around the world. What I liked most about this musium is that, they have tour guides, and any question you got they answer it all.

Beautiful collection of artifacts and antiquities. Referring to the Egyptian collection, it is large, impressive and accessible. Convenient to public transit and within walking distance (15-20 minutes walk) from 30th Street Station.

We spent a day in the Museum, overwhelmed by the breadth and depth of the collections. One could spend a day a week there for a summer taking it all in. We also tried the audio tour and it provided a nice compliment to our visit.

Beautiful place, really interesting exhibits and good food at the Cafe. Would definitely spend my day there if I could, there are so many interesting things to see, which is saying a lot considering I get bored in museums easily

For a University Museum? Well done. Some unique exhibits and I enjoy how they showcase Penns contributions to the field. Worth spending a couple of hours, especially on a hot summers day. A place you go back to now and again.

This is a great collection of artifacts especially for a university. The Headdress of Puabi and the Lyre of Ur are among the most significant finds in the history of Archaeology. Definitely worth the time and money.

Good sized archeology museum. Can enjoy for few to several hours at a time. Few rotating exhibits. Pretty well rounded geographically, but some large areas of the world are missed. Beautiful building.

Attended a gala here, and had a really great time! The food was better than expected and it was very cool to be around all the artifacts. I love their outdoor courtyards as well. Very relaxing.

Not so big on the outside, but so many exhibits inside. You can easily spend 3 hours here, even more if you really love world history. Afterwards, walk down to the river and enjoy the views.
