We loved our visit here! Came on a hot August 90 degree 2 adults 2 teen boys. Truly a hidden treasure with so much to see. There was only one other couple there the entire time we were visiting. The official guy that worked in the office seemed annoyed with our presence. I went up later to ask him a question and I guess with the huge influx of visitors he didnt have the time to offer. However the ground keeper was a wealth of information and very gracious. If not for him we would have had no questions answered. He deserves a raise or a promotion! Multi-tasking on his riding mower

The place looked awesome...from afar. We got there 20 minutes before closing, so I understand we wouldnt be able to see a whole lot, but the man staffing the office didnt even give us a smile, much less an option to see anything at all. He was very cold and uninterested in giving us any information outside of that closing was in 20 minutes. Very disappointing to visitors all the way from Connecticut. Maybe next time we visit with more time, I can offer a better review.

This is where I wanted to go for my birthday, so my friends and I booked the Candlelight Tour on 10/28. All 8 of us had a BLAST! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and we learned so much about Ft Mifflin and its rich history. There was lots of activity, too, which was VERY cool to experience. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone that loves history, ghosts and just learning about what happened there. If you are thinking about going, GO! You will be glad you did!!!

After my first visit on Nov. 6, 2010 to this beautiful, historic fort, I cant wait to go back! Beginning at around 5pm in Casemate 5, we started getting K-2 and flashlight hits. The investigation continued to uncover activity in the Blacksmiths shop, Sally Port, Commanders quarters and Casemate 1. I fully recommend a visit to this fort whether you are interested in the historic location or paranormal investigations.

I would have liked to see more of this park, however, we were shooed away. We didnt know it is a non-profit organization and a few to get in is required. They should state that on the gate. But they will let you in and then harass you to go to the gift store to buy tickets. I think they should make you pay at the gate. Its misleading and the staff is rude.

Check the hours before you go. This is a wonderful history lesson with very friendly staff. Admission is charged. They do a lot of events like Scouts, but also corporate events. Watching and hearing the cannon going off is great. You can rent the facility overnight with a group and its frequently booked so you need to plan in advance.

Great place for people of all ages. Events throughout the year keep the scenery changing. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and more than willing to answer any questions. Check out their Facebook page for their hours. I also suggest calling before you go of the weather is questionable. Great membership options as well.

Nice local historical site that is very well preserved. They also host a great interactive living history program featuring many different time periods throughout the year. Check out their themed Civil War, World War I, World War II, and African-American theme weekends.

Fort Mifflin is an outstandingly beautiful location in Philadelphia. The sweeping views of the river are amazing and it is clear why a fort was built at that location. Combined with the historic factor as the "fort that saved America" it makes for a fabulous visit.

I slept in Casemate 11. Go there and learn what that is! I always knew of this location but I took part in a group sleepover and was able to really experience the fort. Looking at how our military used a fort in the 1700-1900s was very educational.

This place is pretty cool. First of all, there is a ton of history here. Second, all of the ghostly happenings make it even more interesting! Tours are ok, but its pretty fun to just explore yourself as well. Watch Ghost Hunters before you go!

Fantastic place to visit and learn. Great place to bring kids to learn a bit about our nations past. The reenactments held multiple times a year are also a great way to spice up and fill out a day. Definitely worth checking out.

I didnt get a guided tour. But this is a great place to explore on your own and have a picnic. Just be aware it is near the airport and depending on wind direction, you might have a lot of planes overhead.

An amazing historic old Fort in the longest active military post in the country. Great living history makes up for the poor overall conditions at the fort but preservation efforts are ongoing

This is a great historic place. The buildings are from colonial times and from the early days of our nation. Its tucked away behind the airport, but seems centuries away.

A lot of history here! The kids loved the fact that Ghost Hunters were here and found it haunted! We keep our eyes open! Great day trip!
