Reviewed January 31, 2014 The Wife and I went there for dinner (date night) and I chose The Copper Kettle from the reviews on multiple sites. When we got there the host was professional and sat us in one of the 4 front dining rooms. It had pictures of tall ships and nautical items. The room was clean as a hospital but warm and inviting. Our server came and took or drink and appitizer order. (Sorry I forgot your name!) Through out the meal she was attentive but not annoying/pushy. The wife got Lobster Bisque and I got the snapper soup (turtle) and a crab cake. Just to see what the wife would be getting for her main. The wife about launched out of her seat at the flavor of her bisque and had me try it. It was SOO flavorful! I ate my Snapper in 40 seconds flat! It was one of the best Turtle soups I have had. I got the house cut Prime Rib medum. It was out of this world! Juicy and tender great flavor and the sauteed mushrooms were great as well. The wife got the sirloin and crab cake, medium as well. The sirloin was flavorful and the crab cake. . ohhh the crab cake! The crab cake is at a 2:1/8 ratio crab:breading. nice chunks of crab and great plain or with butter and/or lemon! For desert I got a piece of chocolate fudge cake and an Irish Coffee. The wife got a slice of inhouse lemon marange pie. My cake was moise and sooo full of chocolate goodness. The wifes lemon was delicious as well. the leamon cream addition to the pie set it over the top as did the house made whipped cream!! I will personally vouch with all the places I have eaten in the world that this place is HIGH on my list of great food and people! Visited January 2014

Went in recently for my father in-laws 75th birthday with a large group ( 13 ) . Service was excellent. Everything else was just status quo. Known for there prime rib that is what at least 5 ordered. Everyone was content but not impressed. My wife got the chicken Oscar, one of my sons got the crab dip and the other got the seafood Alfredo. All had same opinion , it was OK. I ordered the Filet cooked Rare ( cool red center ) and it came out mid rare ( warm red center ). Not a huge deal since no steak houses around here understand this. The filet was very tender but it was not seasoned at all. Not ever the "kc butter" the menu touted. Ordered a drink 2 times. Knob creek. First time on the rocks , second round neat. Apparently neat is a $1 up charge lol. Never seen that in all my travels. How utterly silly. Dont care about the dollar per say , it was still cheap at $9.25 just made me laugh. Neat dictates no ice Not larger portion. To boot they put it in a brandy snifter so wrong glass and you can easily check portion pour and it was spot on. So no extra product just added a dollar for fun I guess? Anyway the 2 stars of the night where the warmed brie appetizer ( truly outstanding ) and our server. She was super friendly , very knowledgeable and efficient. Prices where at a decent level for the food we got. Good quality product just lacking in any flair and not prepared to its potential. Would go again since I have read reviews that they do have off nights.

My wife grew up in Chambersburg and had never been to CK - we live in New Jersey and frequent some very good restaurants in and around Philadelphia and were absolutely blown away by the menu and food at CK. First of all, them menu is impressive and very well thought out - a great mix of classics and unique dishes. The prices are reasonable considering first the quality of food but in additiona, and unlike many high end restaurants, the portions were significant and both of our dishes came with 2 sides. We both had the greek salad, which was very good, and she had the coleslaw which was exceptional (not an easy feat with coleslaw but it was likely the best we ever had. I had the Cake and Steak which is a crab cake, and 6 oz. Filet with asparagus and (wait for it) hollendaise over the steak. The filet was very well done and the crab cake was wonderful - no filler and a little sweetness - very very good. My wife had the salmon oscar whichi is salmon with asparagus and hollandaise (we might like hollandaise) and she couldnt stop eating it!!! Ok I forgot to mention, the crab dip app was great and the goat cheese app was really really really good! our server, Nicole, was attentave and cheerful. A must try if youre in Chambersburg and certainly not what we expected!!

No one to greet & seat us for over 5 mins. Then we were seated in the OLD section within the bar area for our dinner (had reservations for our 15th wedding anniversary). They did move us to a nicer room. Didnt get menus for another 10 mins. Drinks took forever to get....very annoying. Waited a very long time for our dinner. When they finally did arrive we were shocked by how small the portions were, especially for what they charged. Even the bathroom was dirty with NO toilet paper. Just horrible. Very disappointed. The waitress was very stressed out from being short staffed & they charged $7.50 for apple carmel desert, served COLD with a tiny scoop on vanilla ice cream...the desert tray showed a slice twice the size! When I asked the waitress about the lemon pie... she snapped "I dont know, Ive never had it & Im not going to lie to you!" The stuffed flounder was not fresh either. NEVER AGAIN!!!! This was our second time for this restuarant & neither time was a good experience. We had heard it was going down hill but this was just pathetic! We spent a $125 (total) and left very upset on our special day to celebrate.

Nicole might be the best server I have experienced since i moved to the area 2 years ago. The food was excellent. Only complaint is that it is not open on Sunday...not even for dinner. Went again about 3 weeks ago....horrible!! What a turn around from last time earlier this year. Went with my wife and daughter and all 3 of our dinners were cold. When mentioned to our server (cant remember her name) was told that was unfortunate. When we walked in the hostess attire was very unappropriate for a restaurant like this. I thought we were at Hooters. Heard lots of yelling from the kitchen area. Doubt if we will be back.

I ordered the special Margarita Haddock which was served way undercooked! I had it returned to the kitchen...it was returned to me spread out all over the plate and still undercooked. I did not eat it. They did not even offer me anything else and I still had to pay for the uneaten meal. However, the rest of my party enjoyed their food and drinks. The atmosphere appears a bit cold with white walls and limited paintings.

Fantastic, true dining experience. Sides were as great as the main course. Superb crab cakes and the steaks were absolutely perfect! The atmosphere was impressive, right down to the art adorning the walls. LOVED the table preparation with an ice cold carafe of water accompanying the candlelight. The service was just as phenomenal. We would definitely recommend, encourage as well as return!
