I ordered the pulled pork sando and it was pretty good... Which is the only reason I gave them a 2 star. The coleslaw was unimpressive and the wait staff were rude and inefficient. I am usually VERY forgiving and generous... Always giving the waiters/waitresses the benefit of a doubt. However, it wasnt busy and we were continuously waiting for SOMETHING. 1. We werent greeted when we came in and ended up standing at the hostess stand for a good 8 minutes (with 4 children in tote) while the staff stared at us and carried on with their conversation. 2. The servers (we had so many, I didnt even know if we were assigned one) were late getting our order and rarely returned to check on us. 3. We all sat at the table with empty cups at least 3 times. (Which is hard to do... There were 6 of us!) 4. We got stuck waiting to pay our bill for close to 30 minutes. Finally, we ended up taking our kids to the car while the other parent stayed behind to pay. Needless to say, I wasnt impressed. Im sure I wouldve had better service if I was drunk at the bar, chatting it up with the bar tenders. Those patrons seemed to have great service.

SOOOOO GOOD! My bff is the owners dental assistant and she took us here last summer. We met the owner and she is so friendly! The food is amazing..the ONLY good bbq Ive had in the PNW...Im a Kansas girl so Im pretty picky when it comes to bbq. I believe their chef is from Texas so it makes sense why the food is so damn good. The mac n cheese is to die for!!! Especially with the pulled pork..lord have mercy on my arteries. I am a mac n cheese connoisseur and this place makes a badass dish! They also have this wickedly awesome grit cake covered in the same cheese sauce and then drizzled with truffle oil...what the what?! Yum!! Oh, and those nuclear hicken wings? Holy crap! They are seriously hellacious but before the heat melts your tongue off you do get a great burst of flavor. God I miss this place. The atmosphere is great...good vibes, relaxing, spacious, and in a beautiful rural setting. When i visit Portland again I am definitely taking a drive out east! Great job Skyway!

If youve driven to Mt Hood youll have seen this place. For years we passed it and thought it looked sketchy. It wasnt until we were with a friend who convinced us to try it. Its definitely an interesting place. Theres a back story about how it used to be a fancy restaurant, and the design of the building itself. I liked the food and drink menu. Both are quire extensive. Easy to get a good beer and - as a BBQ fan - always happy to try some BBQ. The BBQ I had was up there with Portland standards (not Texas good though) and the others enjoyed theirs. Portion sizes were very large. Downsides? Its not the biggest place - as out party was over 4 people we couldnt get into the main bar - and tends to get very busy as the skiers return.

The Skyway is, simply put, awesome! I understand it has the best bbq and smoked meats anywhere nearby, but as a vegetarian, I stand by the mac & cheese being the best I have ever had. Living in Portland, Im a spoiled foodie, and still it is easy to say it is hands down the best ever. Beets are awesome, roasted or pickled. And speaking of pickled, you have to try the FRICKLES, fried pickles, which are better than any Ive had in Portland. What else? Theres a small but strong tap selection, great house infused liquor, best live music on the mountain, best outdoor area for grown-ups and kids to roam in, and really the nicest owner of any restaurant anywhere. Tracy & Tom rock.

If you are looking for something different...something with better than average fare, this is definitely all of that and more! The food in our opinion is always top quality in its niche. It is certainly not what you would expect in a "Bar and Grill" yet, there it is all served up by a wonderfully friendly staff or maybe one of the owners and they care if it is pleasing to you. The decor is eclectic. They attract really good musicians on a regular basis, if you dont care for the music this week wait till next. Theres something for everyone. The portions served are on the large size so make sure your hungry because you wont be able to stop until its gone!

Definitely a unique place to visit and I absolutely love that about it. Its easy to get to a see. The decor is very different but awesome and if you check out the bathroom area they host many local musicians! All of the food is of the best home made quality and all of it very different! I have the grit cake with an egg and bacon and can I tell you how amazing it was. I was absolutely stuffed but dont get out that way often. Had to force myself to order dessert! Lemon zest pie it was heavenly! Dad ordered the ribs which I indulged in and they were fall off the bone not over cooked and the barbeque sauces were all delicious in their own way! HIGHLY recommended.

Absolutely, fricken AMAZING!!! I have been coming here for 3 years now and the atmosphere and food is well worth it every single time. The cooks are the best, the staff is wonderful and the owners know how to run a business. I notice a lot of people complain about the wait time for food, but every single thing these guys make is HANDMADE and cooked to order! Nothing ever sits out or is defrosted just waiting to be served. If you want fast or half crap, go somewhere else. If you want quality, patience is your virtue here! Its always worth it. Sit back, enjoy the music and have a drink. Life isnt a rush, enjoy it!! Thanks Skyway!! You guys are awesome!!

After enjoying Texas BBQ for the past 15+ years, I have to say this place isnt bad. Its not up to par with Texas (nothing really is) but I would recommend them for some good brisket, especially with their mystery BBQ sauce, that was delicious. My husband wasnt a fan of their coleslaw but his entree, The Ludacris, was incredible. Make sure youre starving before ordering that cause he could barely finish it and I usually cook for 3-4 people just to satisfy his stomach. Overall, loved the ambiance of the restaurant, the service was good, our waitress was great and the food was good. Definitely worth enjoying if youre in the area.

I ordered the tofu sando- even though Im not a vegan or veg- I just love the fried tofu slathered with the delicious homemade bbq sauce. It came with homemade mayo which was delicious! Service was really great (as always). Atmosphere was really neat- there was a fire going and an all- around warm atmosphere- perfect for a chilly fall/winter evening. I had a VERY tasty house- made margarita- better than most (if not all) Mexican restaurants. The service was the best part. All servers/ bartenders were very attentive and all happened to be incredibly good looking ;) .

Unique BBQ place near Mt. Hood. We stopped for dinner after visiting the Timberline Lodge. This place looks fairly small from the outside but has plenty of seating inside and a very large and landscaped patio. The interior has a bohemian feel to it with very interesting decor. There is a small stage that they were going to use to host a local hip-hop show later that evening. We couldnt stay for the show but the food was outstanding and the service was attentive, courteous and funny. I highly recommend and would definitely go out of my way to visit again.
