I purchased tickets for the Ohio’s got talent Show for my children and I. I had two 13 yrs olds and a 7 year old. I had also told my Aunt about it who brought her 2 grandkids 11 and 4. The Kent Stage site, Portage County Events and Record Courier calendar had no description but noted all ages. To me that meant suitable for all ages. I was under the impression that “Ohio’s got Talent” would be similar to “America’s got Talent” with juggling, singing, dancing and the like. Boy was I ever wrong. Now I love Hip hop music and dance, but not what was displayed that night. Not for my children. The first song had the term “mother f$$er” in it countless times. It continued on with lyrics about drugs and so on. Each song and performer more offensive than the last. We left after the 3rd act in which a large group got up and all started rapping and every word was a curse word. In who’s right mind is this for all ages? We were all so disappointed over this and I’m out $56. Maybe someone with kids needs to look into the shows a little better and decide what is for all ages or note adults only instead

We think the Kent Stage is the best place in northern Ohio to see a concert. The theatre only has about 700 seats, so there isnt a bad seat in the place. The acoustics are also very good. Weve been there over 50 times over the years and never hesitate to get tickets for shows we want to see. We know well have a great time. They also serve snacks and have a great selections of beers.

I liked it better when it was a movie theater but the owner has done a great job of bringing in all kinds of great bands. He opened up the split theater to fit lots of people inside. Its supposedly haunted but I dont care. Its a great venue and has a great location for all manner of indie rockers to enjoy the town.

The Kent Stage cancelled a concert, and refuses to return emails and calls regarding a promised refund. I will never attend this venue again. Though your concert experience may be uneventful, if something goes wrong, you can be assured that the folks at the Kent Stage will treat you like garbage.

I went to Kent State University. Took my future wife there on our first date to see "Heaven Can Wait" when it was a movie theater. Ive seen a lot of bands play there since then. Todd Rundgren, Steve Hackett, Steve Earle, Chris Isaak, The Strawbs, etc... Great venue. Great Sound. Nice bar too.

I saw the Dark Side of the Moon show and it was beastly to say the least. The ambiance was great, service was great, the help was great and I had a very enjoyable experience. It would be a shame if I didnt go back. I highly recommend it.

A really great line-up of shows at a good price. Fantastic beer selection at the bar, and drinks can come into the auditorium. Seats probably need refinished, but maybe that contributes to the charm?

If youre not allowed to vape here - and are going to get kicked out for doing so....they should post some sort of notice at the front so people know. Got kicked out with no warnings and no refund.

The venue brings in some great musicians and is a fairly intimate venue. It is small enough that there are never traffic issues after attending a show. One of my favorites for concerts.

Kent stage is an awesome venue. Its a non profit organization, maintaining a historic theater in historic downtown Kent. The music they get here is always top notch acts.

Intimate setting and good sound. Just saw Glen Campbell, great show, good view from overflow seats. Only 3stalls in restroom made it interesting at intermission.
