Played there yesterday for the last time. Since we were 45 min before our tee time were told we couldnt pay yet. The guy working there said he was too busy, but appeared to just be standing there doing nothing. We said we would like to buy a bucket of balls, but were told we couldnt until we paid for our round. HUH? The guy working there was very rude. We were given a tee time at the tail end of some type of USGA event. We teed off at 230 and finished just past 730. Greens are beat up. Werent allow to have carts on fairways, not because they were wet, but too dry. Miserable!!! Very interesting layout, but Ill never go back.

Having played this course literally hundreds of times, it has been in better shape. The City of Cols was looking to sell it and dropped the ball on maintenance. I have seen an increase in grounds people lately but tee boxes need help. Fairways are in really good shape. This is NOT an easy golf course, at only 6555 yrds from the tips, you better bring your A Game. This is a shot-makers track and not for the average amateur as it will hand you your lunch. A true gem in a great Robert Trent Jones Sr. design.....rates are going down soon. In line with the rest of the golf world the past 2 years.

This course is the ultimate "shot-makers track". Leave the driver in the bag (or car) and place your shots in the correct half of the fairways. Pay attention to the hole locations - "center of the green" is usually not the right location for scoring on this course. Seemingly every hole has a dog-leg zealously guarded by a century-old stand of trees and the risk associated with short-cuts make them a fools gamble. Greens, fairways, and rough are in excellent condition for a public track - tee boxes need some more TLC, but it appears they are working on them every day.

Went for a relaxing day out with my husband after him being out of country for a week. We were stopped by a ranger 6 times in the first 7 holes telling us that there was a scramble coming in behind us and that we needed to hurry up. We were moving at the same pace as the groups in front of us so there was no way for us to speed up and nowhere for us to go. Had to pick up and leave just after teeing off on the 7th. Had we been told about this prior to booking the tee time, we would have scheduled another time.

The layout here is a real diamond in the rough. Challenging and interesting at a great price. Course is in good shape too for what Id imagine would be a low Muni budget. Still, Id recommend playing here in the more off hours early in the morning or on a weekday-- Ive run into a few rude players when things were busy before, but thats no fault of the staff. Tldr; The best Muni in Columbus, hands down, at a great price.

Went to play 18. Started us on the back 9 and as we made the turn there were 2 groups ahead of us. Poor planning on their part. Asked for a refund and we got rain checks. One employee was just following the rules while another was rude. If not for the rain checks I would not be going back. One of the best city courses but not worth the poor planning and chance of running into rude people. Only pay for 9 at a time!

Has become the typical muni track over the years, not well kept and over grown. Rounds easily stretch to six hours mostly because of the ridiculously deep rough which is really not needed as the course is long and tight enough to be challenging in itself. Staff consisted of elderly contrite old men. Didn't feel ripped off but my bet is Columbus has better to offer for the money.

I dont understand others ratings. If Hillcrest-Johnstown is 4star, this place is a 7star. In all seriousness, its a well designed formerly private course now run with a municipal budget. Are the greens perfect? Heck no. But its a good course if you can get on at off-peak hours.

Great course for a back drop, some rough green areas, and onky reasons for not a 5 star are bathrooms are not the best in club house and the employees constantly ask what is in cooler. You would imagine they would eventually recognize who you were.

Recently played the course & it was in great shape as it usually is. Greens were fast & true. Always amazes me that this course w/rolling terrain, valleys, elevated tees & greens are inside the Cbus outerbelt. Green fees are reasonable.

Cost was to high for course. Greens were burnt up and overall course was just not very good. Layout was awful also. I will not be going back. So many other great courses for cheaper.

Greens were super slow. A shell of what this beauty used to be. Driving range is not in use and some of the greens were in really bad shape, 10 green was almost not even playable.

As another review pointed out, the staffs are very rude. I gave one point only because it wont allow me to post without it. I will never go this place again. It doesnt worth.

Central location is nice. Fairways are decent, greens are decent but not great. Challenging and unique holes with some good scenery. A bit overpriced for the quality.

Great course. Challenging layout and in pretty good condition for a public track. Round was slow but it thats what you get on a public track on a Saturday.

Low areas seem to have held water for years... otherwise, love this course to death! Only left three clubs in the bag, and one of those I should have used.

Fran, the pro, is extremely friendly and runs a welcoming atmosphere for golfers. Found out new club house being built for 2019 season.

They booked 6 groups with us with the same tee time. It took 2 hours to play 3 holes. Wasnt even worth trying to finish.
