Ive been there to golf, and for a wedding. Since its been a long time since Ive swung a club, Ill tell you about the wedding(s) Ive been to. As of the last one, which was rumored to be worth over $60,000.00, it was overpriced. Blue ambient lights near the ceiling were beautiful for the winter-themed wedding (in February, so they were appropriate), and the decor was gorgeous, but that had nothing to do with Sycamore Hills. The food was awful. I asked our server if they offered a vegetarian plate. He told me hed ask, and never came back with an answer. Instead, I ate chunky mashed potatoes with burnt cheese on top, and green beans.... "Yayyyyyyy" ... Other guests ate bloody (and Im not being biased, here, it was dripping blood, and guests complained that the bell was still attached to the cow...) prime rib. Apparently, our table(s) had to order more chicken with some sort of gravy on top, because that was the only palatable main dish offered. Dance floor was small for the 200+ people attending, but we had fun. Parkin was decent. No valet that I saw, just for those who prefer to have someone park their car. All of the parking spaces were very close to the front door, so dont worry if you have trouble walking far. Small venue, very intimate. Quiet. Nice surroundings. The food sucks. Take that as you will.

This is really a very nice golf course. It has 3 nines and each nine offers a different experience. The south has lots of narrow tree lined holes while the north is a bit more open. I like that some of the holes are very unusual in that they offer several different ways to play the holes. This makes many of the holes quite forgiving from the front tees and quite challenging from the back. It has a very good driving range with grass hitting as an option. Normally this course is very well maintained. I have golfed there in late summer and autumn in 2007 and in early 2008 and the condition was excellent. It can get quite crowded and slow on the weekend. My main complaint is that it is quite expensive. If the weather has been wet, there are several other nearby courses that offer a much better value along with challenging but fair play.

Golfed here in the past, and really enjoy the course. I saw a deal on GolfNow and decided to head back. Little did I know Tuesdays are womens league play (which nobody mentioned), which created havoc. After cruising through the South course (8:16 start), I was set the start the West course for the back 9. After my drive, Id caught up to the ladies league... To finish that hole and the next par 3, it took 30 minutes. After the second hole on the back 9, I turned around and played the south again. I wish Sycamore was more up front about the league play... Like St Clair Shores, they dont even advertise 18 holes Tuesdays, because they do have morning league play. Aside from that, the course was in good shape and fun as usual... just beware of Tuesday mornings.

Easily the best wedding I have been to. My sister got married there and everything was great. The workers helped put everyone in the right mood and were very nice. I have been to so many weddings and I have never tasted food that good before. I love to take pictures and all over the room there were beautiful things to use as a backdrop. They obviously know how to throw a wedding and for what my sister paid I am jealous! As far as the golf, it was very good as well. The pro shop is a bit pricey, but the course itself was priced right and well kept. Definately coming back for more.

Not a good course to go to if you are looking for the normal time of four and half hours to play 18 holes. Plan your play at six and half to play 18. The people playing there are not like your southern golfers that welcomes joining up to speed play. They are wanting slow play and not good enough golfers to play course. If you are looking for slow play and rude golfers this is the place. The staff is excellent and the course is beautiful. I would stay away if you looking for nice polite golfers.

This is the maple lanes north of hall road. Its a shooting gallery. The park rangers do nothing to move play along and the greens are in horrible shape. One green is so bad there is a drain in the middle of it. During our 18 holes we found two people driving on greens. If you looking for a well kept course this wouldnt be the place. It isnt much better than hickory hollow next door. At least hickory doesnt tought it self as something it isnt.

Mid-November golf in Michigan leaves little to complain about. This was my first time playing Sycamore Hills (West/South) and am now wishing I discovered this place earlier in the year. The course is extremely well kept given the time of year, leafs were only an issue on 2 of 18 holes, greens are challenging, scenery is unique, hole design was fun and overall experience was great! Will be booking my first round of next years season here!

My buddy had his wedding there, so we decided to do 18 holes....WOW! this is by far the nicest course in the area. Everything from the pro shop to the bar was top notch and the people there are SO nice. The best part of all really was the wedding though. The food was delicious and the staff kept going out of thier way to make my buddies picky wife happy. What a hidden gem this is!!

I went to go use the driving range and was told no one could hit off of the grass. The grass was cut short for a driving range; but they didnt want divits on the range. Unless im missing something, that is kind of the point of a driving range. Divits are to be expected. The grass is not being used for anything else, so why would it matter?

Pro shop extremely rude!!! Bar/Restaurant service poor. They knew we had a group of 32 and had not enough wait staff. Waited 45 minutes for a burger. Orders were all messed up. People got wrong food. Horrible, totally unprofessional staff. No wonder there were no other golfers in the restaurant. Food is poor at best.

Ive been doing annual outings here for over 15 years. This place is the best. Everyone from the Owner, the Pro, the banquet staff and the rest of the team are great. The course is always maintained in tip top shape. I would recommend Sycamore Hills to anyone. These guys are the best.

We just celebrated our daughters wedding here this weekend. From the moment we walked in Julie was more than helpful. The evening was fantastic, the food was incredible, the service outstanding!! A great value for everything we got! Fabulous!!
