I would just like to say that I will most likely NEVER come back to Progressive Field. Spent a lot of money on tickets for Game 6 of the World Series....drove from Illinois to Cleveland (6.5 hours).....was so excited to cheer my team on (Go Cubs!). I consider myself a good sport, I can take it as much as I dish it out.....but alway remaining RESPECTFUL to everyone. Being here, with my mother, we both honestly felt threatened by the Indians fans who were constantly yelling obscenities at us and threatening to dump their drinks on us. Worried that if we even stood up for a good play we wouldve yelled at and told that we were going to get beer dumped on us if we didnt sit down. Not in a fun, being a good sport kind of way.....no smiles....no laughing.....just rude. How would thay make you feel? Cant even cheer now thay we finally made it here??? A friend of ours, also at the game, had a similar problems with the Indians fans, although beer was ACTUALLY thrown on them. When they approached security regarding the matter, security told them not to insight any problems with the fans or THEY would be escorted out?!? What else are the Indians fans allowed to do without being reprimanded for their actions? Unreal, and definitely unheard of where I come from. How are you supposed to feel safe here knowing that they are allowed to do this? Luckily, no drinks were thrown on us, but would anything have been done if they had been? Again, I am a good sport especially coming from Chicago. I love my teams and I would never treat an opposing teams fan the way I was treated here at Progressive Field. I wish I had a better memory of my first and maybe last world series game. I know the stakes were high and so were the emotions....I still find it unacceptable on your part Cleveland. If you need some tips on how a team, their fans, and the staff of their ball field is SUPPOSED to be I encourage you to visit Wrigley Field. You WILL be WELCOME there with fans who know what RESPECT is and staff that will ENSURE you feel SAFE... I promise!

I attended game 1 Cubs vs Indians and these are my observations...the fans seemed very nice. We read other online stories about abusive behavior, but we didnt hear or see any. We did however see a few Cubs fans chasing a man that I would guess tried to sell them fake tickets...and a few other fights/minor altercations with locals vs the tourists right on the block of the stadium. The common question from the Pullers was "how much you want to spend". Im sure learning someone had $1000s on hand lead to some bad behavior. Out of the 10+ locals selling tickets, they would not show me the tickets unless I told them how much I wanted to spend. Never saw any tickets till I bought some from an out of town broker. Before the start of the game the Indians did this dramatic build up video of Cleveland vs the world topping it off with "its our turn". Then a mid game congratulations video from Labron and again the "Cleveland vs the world" comment. As the game wore on with Kluber dominating the Cubs early on...the Cleveland machine constantly told the fans to "get up, make some noise" or "get loud". But most of the time nothing...even on a full count. I later learned that the Indians attendance has been poor throughout the season at home (average of 19k only better then Oakland + Tampa). Further conversations with fans admitted their pitching staff is not as deep as cubs and game 2 was a great example of that. As Cleveland has not been to the Cubs this year I would bet they will be shocked by our enthusiasm for this team and playing at home will be intimidating. And Cleveland Indians, your going to have to earn it, because its not your turn the world isnt watching or cares what your doing LAbron and playing Kluber 3 times in a series just shows how desperate you are.

What a great ballpark! We were in town to go to the Football Hall of Fame and decided to take in an Indians game. Lucked out with great tix on stub hub that included parking in the attached garage (1st ballpark weve been to where the parking garage was literally attached to the field) Even if we didnt have the parking ticket, parking was only $15 in the lot. Everyone who worked at the ballpark was super nice and I mean everyone. Ticket taker, purse searcher, jersey hander-outer, food service workers, team store sales people and cashiers, and even the craft beer dude. Welcomed us, told us to enjoy the game and have a great night.... Lots of food choices and with our seats behind homeplate, under the net, we were able to enjoy a risk free evening. We did see a few balls slide back down the netting the the field. We also went on a promo night, so we now have Indians jerseys with Baerga on them. He also threw out the first "official" pitch. The Indians new mascot (Slider) is super creepy but I managed to keep from freaking out by staying far away from it. The team stores around the ballpark were great too. Crowded but lots of great energy and helpful sales people. A lot of different craft beer places onsite too. Not as good as the craft beer in Boston at Fenway but decently priced at $12 for a large. Post game fireworks were phenomenal. The best weve encountered after a major league ball game. Leaving the ballpark was easy too. We waited a few minutes for the crowd to die down and ended up getting out of the garage and back on the highway in about 10 minutes from reaching our car. Looking forward to visiting Cleveland again and hopefully attending another Indians game.

I went to ballgames at old Municipal Stadium as a kid. I was thoroughly impressed with "The Jake" when it was built, but over the years as the team has become less popular it was obvious that they needed to make some changes. I really appreciate the renovations. My 9 year-old son enjoyed all the activities in the kids clubhouse before the game. I like how they transformed the upper deck in right into an area paying homage to former Indians greats. The food options at The Corner area in right field are also excellent. I typically sit in the upper deck and I love walking around to get to my seat because I enjoy the views of the city from the stadium. This place is a real gem. The food is good. The game is produced well in terms of what goes on the scoreboard and what is done before the game and between innings. No matter if the team is playing well or poorly it is always worthwhile to take a trip to the corner of Carnegie and Ontario. Its just a great experience all around.

The Indians front office must have known that fans going to see the Tribe need to be bribed with plentiful public transportation, unique food offerings, and a well-tended playing surface. The jumbo tron screen can be seen well from everywhere in the park, and includes all the relevant stats so you dont have to look all over the stadium to find info like pitch count, and batters previous at-bats. Like all the major league parks, prices are astronomical, but the Tribe puts on a good show and obviously takes good care of the infield dirt and outfield turf in between games. The team web site offers some great ticket discounts, many of which include $5-10 credit at concessions, making the deal even better. 2014 is a great year for the Indians, so the "10 strikeouts by Indians pitchers and every ticket holder gets a free sandwich" has been honored several times. Very good ball park experience.
