The security staff didnt keep people in their seating area. They spent more time worrying about my cup on the ledge and the light on my camera. Young girls had boys steady coming in and out of our row... I paid dearly for good seats and couldnt see/ enjoy the concert. I will NEVER go to this arena for another concert. Staff drug their feet opening the doors, the bag inspector was obviously waiting on the final count down before beginning!! Left the concert early :( Jason Aldean...... My grandson really wanted to see you, even he was aggravated by the no view from people standing up. I expect people to stand and dance, BUT not people visiting from other seating areas to join in and form a crowd in front of you!!! Shame on the staff for allowing this and cheating a little boy out of his dream and what a bad 1st impression hell always have about a concert!!

The VMA is a decent sized arena that hosts all types of events from the circus to sporting events. The arena itself is a decent size and has a relatively large seating capacity but the seats themselves leave much to be desired and the levels are very steep which makes for decent viewing but treacherous walking. The concessions are a mess as well and are only really located on a single level which amounts to chaos during intermission. Likewise, the escalators and elevators to the levels are small, slow and poorly placed so things get pretty scary near the end of events. Parking here isnt ideal and options are limited so expect to either pay a great deal for parking or hoof it for a while.

Massive failure for session 2 of the NCAA tournament last night. The arena is nice inside but getting inside is the issue. There was NO excuse for what happened regarding opening its doors and getting people into the arena to see the opening of the first game. The tip was at 7:20 and the ticket takers did not start till 7:05. By the time I got through the doors it was 7:25. Thousands of fans were still trying to get into the arena when the ball was tipped off. I personally did not get to my seat until 14:00 minutes left in the first half despite being in line 25 minutes before tip off. The management needs to be taken to task because it was bush league.

Through the other arenas Ive visited, this is easily my favorite if Im only counting the building and not why Im going. Was always clean for concerts or Sharks games, attended many different events here through the years and never once did I leave thinking it was a bad place. I think the only negative experience I ever had here was the first time I saw The Trans Siberian Orchestra here, it was very very quiet for my liking. Being a metalhead though, there is no such thing as too loud so its quite relative. Clean, good staff, and good location.

Bought very expensive tickets to see McCartney, advertised as best in the house. The seats were way back from the stage and below the stage. Missed the entire concert due to lying and insatiable greed by arena management. These people destroyed a once in a lifetime opportunity to see Paul before its too late. My girlfriend from Russia is short and wanted to see this show badly. You murdered dreams knowing full well the stage could not be seen from the seats. Truly despicable people that reflects badly on the entire city.

Easy access to parking $10 in covered lot. Close walk. Food & drinks super expensive. Cannot get a cup of ice for your $8 bottle of soda or $4 bottle of water. And cannot bring your own cup into venue. They are afraid you might drink out of water fountain. Gave 4 stars because shows are always good. Purchased floor seats this time because I cannot maneuver the stairs. (Arthritis) Looked like a lot of people on floor lever were there for similar reasons.

Easy to get to and traffic managed very nicely to get into parking easily. Greeted all along the way by everyone and made to feel welcome like a smaller venue which is not usual or expected for such a big place. Clean inside and around seating areas plus room to get in and by without too much trouble. Easy access restrooms and plenty of vendors selling typical overpriced mementos and foods/drinks.

In the partly/poorly re-gentrified east end of Jacksonvilles crowded and chaotic downtown, just across a short older bridge from a fortress of a jail large enough to hold half of the citys residents, the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena is almost as large and expensive as its less-showy neighbor. It would take a special event for me to go anywhere near the place, especially at night.

Great venue for any type of entertainment event. I have seen arena football, and a few concerts here. Very comparable to other arenas out there, for instance, its pretty similar to the smoothie king center in NOLA. I actually prefer Jax Veterans over the smoothie king center. Ive always had a good time while coming here and will certainly be back in the future Im sure.

This place is awesome and the sitting is so comfortable and properly grounded; theres a good view from every angle. The only reason I didnt give it a five star is that there is no parking there at the arena. One has to either pay for parking in small parking lots around the stadium owned by unknown vendors or walk three blocks or more to find parking.

Attended the Circus. Great show, but absolutely insane prices on all food and drinks. $12 for a cup of lemonade.... And as usual, it is impossible to get out of Downtown Jacksonville after an event. I hate to take away from the show, but just trying to get out of there will probably keep me from ever thinking about going to another event there.

Went for a graduation with a handicapped person. No near parking for handicap. Pushed a wheelchair over very rough terrain. Then found That I had to push WAY over the arena to find wheelchair accessible place, which was filled with people who had brought chairs over from another place. Good arena. Poorly thought out for the handicapped.

I have several times to see concerts. Venue is laid out nice and easy room navigate bathrooms very clean. Food and drinks are overpriced but its their money maker. Smoking sections available on each level. Staff is friendly. Acoustics is great for the size. Favorite section is 103 lower level, great view of stage and monitors.

The hours for the box office are horrible. I live out of town and travel there for different events with my family. They are not open on the weekend and I work on weekdays. I wanted to travel there to save money on the tickets even though it is an hour one way for me. I would wake up early on a Saturday if they had something open.

Amazing place!! I go here for the Jacksonville Sharks games, Import and Craft festival, and many other venues. They work very efficiently and effectively when dealing with big crowds. Very well kept and clean. The staff is very friendly. Overall, its a great place to bring the whole family. You wont be disappointed.

The event that I attended here was in an overall good facility. However, the seating became limited due to water dripping from the ceiling in certain areas. Several seats had to be blocked off to avoid the dripping, but Im guessing it was just a result of the air conditioning condensation. Otherwise not bad.
