This place is a little weird - and that’s a good thing. They do what they do because they love it, and they love doing it their own way. People told Urban Artifact that it was impossible to open a brewery in Cincinnati that only focused on Wild And Tart (sour) beer... and they smiled and did it anyways. What you have today is a brewery that pushes the limits of what beer is supposed to be - they use all fresh fruit when they incorporate fruit into things - which doesn’t make sense - they source local yeast to ferment their beers - which doesn’t make sense - and they have live music in their taproom 7 days a week - which doesn’t make sense. You’ll find a taproom that is full of different people, different beliefs, and they all come together around music, beer, and experiencing what you love because you believe in it.

When they say "tart" they mean it. The atmosphere was great, people were cool, and had a big outdoor area. Unfortunately if you dont like sour beer there is nothing for you to drink. I had the Bluesfest and my wife had the Hippodrome, the first is a "hoppy amber" and the second is a "wild DIPA." Both had undertones of "tart" or sour beers, and little if any hop. I thought theyd have one or two things for people who arent tart beer drinkers but they really dont, not alcoholic at least. TLDR: I didnt like their beer, but the atmosphere was super chill, so it gets a 3 out of me.

This brand new brewery, tap room, and music venue is killin it. Opened in April 2015, Urban Artifact is bound to be the spot this summer for refreshingly tart beer and funky fresh music. The old church building (including the gym floor, which youll see repurposed throughout the decor) elevates it from what would otherwise be "just" good beer, good guys, and good music to the most unique brewery experience in Cincinnati.

One of my fav places in town! A very special brewery in a beautiful old church by talented guys that know their beer and music. Among other great programming, Weds nights, the Blue Wisp Jazz Band performs. Beer connoisseurs that appreciate the sour style will love it, and those that dont know it yet, youre in for a treat!

Chill atmosphere with stellar sour beers and good variety of live music. Make sure to follow them on Facebook to get updates on releases of their special batches. Another plus is that the restrooms are huge and clean. The sanctuary room is beautiful and perfect for special occasions. The staff is great too!

I like the venue. Good for meet-ups, music, hanging out. I dont like the beer selection too many sour house beers. There isnt a single pills, lager or light beer on tap. All their beers are heavy or sour. Will update as beer selection changes.

Not impressed. For such an awesome building, cheaply decorated. One of the flagship sours was definitely infected. Diaper/bandaid off flavor to it and I love sour beers. Pretty decent iPa. Has potential to be a really awesome place.

Urban Artifact is the best place for live music and fantastic craft beer. The bartenders are great, the beer is unlike most anything youve ever tasted. Be prepared for some wild flavors, and great music.

best live music + microbrew venue in Cincinnati. Blue Wisp jazz and Frank Sinatra 100th birthday celebration concert was amazing. I make a stop every time Im in town from Naples, Florida to Cincinnati.

Unique to Cincinnati is their approach to making wild and sour ales. The tap room atmosphere is nice and they run a lot of music and performing arts events in their space.

Wow the Fire Iron Sour is super. Andi love the ambiance. Wednesday night is Big Band night and you can hear the music from the taproom. Wow such a good date spot.

Fun local place to hear some music. In the warmer months they have bonfires outside. They also have their own custom brews on tap if thats your kind of thing.

Good bear selection. Atmosphere (church basement), is a little different, but spacious, with some awesome wood plank table/bars.

Great micro brew in the basement of the church. Soon to have a large concert/event venue up stairs in the church.
