We had our work Christmas party tonight and from the beginning the experience left much to be desired. The gentleman at the counter was somewhat short tempered with us from the get-go, though I think potentially that he was stressed after a trying day, as he sweetened up later. The main restrooms were at the end of a long hallway and frankly, the smell of stale urine was increasingly evident starting from about a third of the way down. By the time you actually got to the restroom, the smell was very nearly overpowering. And then theres the attached grill. I WILL say that the food is EXCELLENT, moderately priced and of generous portions. The SERVICE, however needs to make leaps and bounds and their main server/hostess could stand a few lessons in customer relations. She started out friendly enough, but as the night wore on and they got busier, her friendliness and follow up skills took a nose dive. The alley got very busy, and she seemed to be the only runner between the bar and lanes, so its understandable that wed have to wait some for follow up service. I wasnt prepared for our party to be almost completely ignored however. After a couple of hours of no follow up service for beverage refills, etc, including no follow up after a gentleman at an adjoining lane heard me call out to her for help and flagged her down for me, and she never showed up (and I waited probably about 30 min), I finally went to the bar to get my own drink. (THEN she showed up to our table to ask for refills, heard 1 person say no then ran away before anyone else in our party could answer). Later, when I needed a to go box, after both bar employees completely ignored me for a few minutes (and I know that they saw me) she sauntered over, asked what she could help me with, then midway through my sentence, interrupts me, turns her head away to bellow to her fellow employee if they had any more cups then turned back around with a very fake apology. I dont mind waiting my turn, and will do so patiently for several minutes as long as my presence is acknowledged with a "Ill be right there" or something similar. To know that they both saw me and acted like I wasnt even standing there, then to rudely interrupt me to yell out a question to the other girl, a question that could have waited 30 extra seconds, is unacceptable. Others in my party had similar issues and at the end of the night when we got our bill, a 20% gratuity had been added to our single ticket party of 7 even though the menu clearly stated that an automatic gratuity of EIGHTEEN % would be added to parties of EIGHT or more. Oh, yes, and the music videos that they played over the lanes grew increasingly raunchy over the course of the night, despite being somewhat early on a school vacation night and it being possible that kids could be present. We had a blast despite a pretty poor establishment (the lanes are ok enough, but the electronics need serious maintenance) but I definitely will not go back and will definitely recommend no one else go there as well.

After reading in the Wilmington Business Journal that Ten Pin had been sold a group of us decided to come back and see if it was better than our last outing. (Our last time here was horrific. We were carded at the door, the security person at the door was very rude and the music was hard to hear and it sucked). So 5 of us showed up about 10pm on Saturday January 16th 2016 to bowl a few games and have some drinks and munchies. When we arrived the place was packed. The guy behind the desk (Jason?) was very friendly and said we had a wait but could go wait on the pool hall side if we wanted to as we had about 45 minutes before our lane was available. We took his advice and went and played a game of pool and had a couple drinks. After about 40 minutes they announced our lane was available and it worked out perfect as our game of pool had just finished and we were about to play another before we got called. We got our lane and bowled until after midnight. The atmosphere was great, the video rock n bowl is awesome and while we had to wait quite a while for a waitress (they were very busy) we were able to get our drinks and some wings in a reasonable amount of time. You can tell the new owners really care about this place as it was clean, we werent carded at the door and the scent of fresh paint was present in the pool hall. The music selection and videos that played were very good and not too loud. We usually are regulars at Shipyard on the weekend but I think we will be changing that because we really had a great time with no real issues. A big thank you to the new owners (whatever your name is) for trying to turn this place around. I think you will succeed! Murph!

Took a group to ten pin ..one of the group members is in a wheelchair...she was NEVER addressed by the management on duty, she was talked over and disregarded and told immediately that her "machine " in reference to her wheelchair, which is an extention of her person, could not go in her "million dollar" floor. After I mentioned the ADA (managements response was "whats that"?) She then mentioned maybe they could check the tires of the chair etc..etc.. Of course by this time it was far too late and too much of an audience for my group and the person to which all of this tramautically impacted,to stomach any longer. Needless to say we all left, (those that cared for the young lady and saw how she was being treated.) And decided to never return again. The young lady burst into tears along with others that were involved in this situation. In my 26 years in the field of special education I have never come across such disgusting behavior. I am spreading the word and the ADA has been contacted!

I visited this place to go bowling with my family they refuse to serve us because our Hispanic ethnicity. The security man called us name and kicked us out of the place. He almost got physical with me and continue to whisper obscenities and tell me to shut up. It was very disturbing that someone so ignorant and aggressive can be called security at a place like this where they sell alcohol. I would like for the owner to get involved and offer me a sincere apologies for the treatment that given to me and my family including my 13 year old sister. I would like them to stop discriminating against the Hispanic community I am an american citizen just like they are and I deserve the same respect as everyone else. Thanks.

I was using one of the 8 pound balls and developed a rash. I brought it to the attention of the clerk at the shoe/game rental desk, and he shirked me off as if I were lying to him. I then brought it to the attention of the bartender (and some of the employees who were drinking) and their response was "ew, get away from me." The rash appears to be ringworm or something similar. Lesson learned: dont bowl here unless you have hand sanitizer or Clorox wipes on hand. The bartender stated "these house balls arent the cleanest..." As she regarded the drinking employees, who laughed. Definitely will not return without some form of bleach.
