We took our 2 grandchildren to see Annie on Thursday for the 2 PM performance. From what we could see, the production was wonderful. I phrase it that way because our tickets were on the back row , and we had very limited visibility seeing the stage. About midway of the first act, I moved to the elevated bench behind me. From there the view was wonderful. I could see everything. At intermission, one of your staff members approached me and said I had to move back to my seat. She said it was reserved for staff. No one was sitting on the bench, however, I moved back to my seat and stretched my neck around the tall lady in front of me until the play was over. The bench remained empty the entire time. One of the volunteers told me the lady was the "boss lady". I will never return to Flat Rock Theater unless I have tickets up front. It is a shame to pay for tickets when you cannot see the stage. Your "boss lady" is more concerned about her bench staying empty than patrons seeing the show.

Caters and programs theater to senior citizens in their last days. Music for the musical Bee Hive was like being on a bad cruise ship...one that you cant seem to get off. As I walked into the theater, 20 minutes before the show began I took a photo of the set. Apparently I missed a small sign that said no pictures. My fault, although the sign was very small. A female usher, by the name of Mary, overcome with new power, came over to me and yelled with an outrage I havent seen or heard in years. I apologized and she then wanted my cell phone to erase it. Of course I refused. And I refuse to give money or darken their doorstep ever again. And the poor senior citizens didnt even know where they were.

In the area and decided to check out the local theater. Play was entertaining, actors engaging, location quaint and pleasant. Had option of silver, bronze and gold seating. We went for the middle option. We were seated in hard wooden, church pew bench at the extreme rear of playhouse. We sat behind the lighting controls and were distracted by that and the ushers assisting those coming in late, shuffling thru some paperwork while using a flashlight --- once that was all done, he joined us on back pew. We were the only ones seated there! Play is good - just avoid the mid price option!!!

THERE IS 2 theater OK BE CAREFUL TO BE SURE WITCH ONE YOU BY YOUR TICKETS from. It writin very small on the voucher and you have to arrive half an hour before to pick up your tickets. We did try to go 3 hours in advance but it was close and then same thing half an hour before the show so we though it was weird we call and they could not answer because they say they were busy gettin everybody in for the show . Anyway with a lot of turning around and asking we endup in the one in Endersonville. The good thing is that they are close ,15 min drive distance. The show was good.

My husband and I attended the matinee performance of CATS today. Very talented actors. Unfortunately, we found several distractions from the performance: the AC was not working in the theatre (however the lobby was quite comfortable), the sound system was not up to par for a production in the round making it difficult to understand the actors, perhaps this was a condensed version of the musical because the story line was difficult to follow. Kudos to the actors, but we left (as did others) at intermission - way too uncomfortable and difficult to hear.

I visited FRT with a group on Thursday June 24th for the first time and was impressed with the amount of talent starring in My Fair Lady. Our group agreed that we had never seen a more professional and talented group in a performance off Broadway. I am spreading the word to everyone who enjoys live, local plays that are within a days drive to visit Flat Rock Theater. Professor Higgins was a delight and outstanding in his performance. I look forward to seeing this young man in future plays. How about a performance of Oklahoma?

Broadway quality at N C prices. Weve been attending for decades, and have seen consistent improvement over the past several years. Les Mis was an absolute triumph of staging, acting, singing, and orchestration. The Producers left my out of town in-laws in stitches and agape at the stagecraft and costuming. And we usually attend matinees! I cannot speak for the downtown performances as we have not attended any, but the main stage productions are now superb. Philip Beckwith

Their productions range from good to great. Weve been season subscribers for more than a decade. Theres a lot of local talent and, when they do the big shows, they bring in a lot of young professionals who work hard and successfully to entertain. Lisa K Bryant is a consummate professional who illuminates their venue whether on stage or behind the scenes. Western North Carolina is truly blessed to have Lisa and the Flat Rock Playhouse.

Went to see their Willy Wonka play and it was wonderful! Well rehearsed with all the kids. Very professionally done. Parking here is a bit of a challenge as you have to wait for other ppl to leave before you can leave which a least everyone around us left as quickly as we did. The parking would be a problem if someone in front of you decided to stay and chat and leave you blocked in. It wasnt an issue for us though.

My experience at FRP was an enjoyable and memorable one. My husband and I went to FR to celebrate our anniversary. This was several years ago, I believe in 2006. It was a quaint small performance that I felt deserved every penny I paid. We have not gone back as we find other things we havent done a priority, but yes, we would go back for a change of pace.

A great place to take older children to see what the performers and their job as actors entail. Who knows you might awaken the sleeping future actor just by going and enjoying everything you will see. You might even see somebody you know being a performer and you thought you knew everything about one of your friends! Try it and bring your happy face.

The Dixie Swim Club is an excellent production, well worth seeing. Engaging cast, that feels like your own personal friends from first scene to the last moment. Moving, thought provoking, Real friendship among group of women explored. Be ready to run the full gamut of emotions.

What an amazing and special little theater for this community...musicals, plays and other events for adults and kids. Top notch performers for such a small venue. We have the family season tickets and our son very much enjoys the plays for his age group.

This is the worst performace I have ever seen at Flat Rock. I and a lot of others left befor it was over. It is the most boring thing that I have ever seen. I started to call and stop payment on it. It is a disgrace to have this on. Sylvia Bradshaw
