My sincere thank you to Aria Tuscan Grill who provided me free parking in the Bank of America deck and a discounted dinner after hearing I was attending a play at Blumenthal 8/9/16. Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. If you did the same and paid an additional $5 at Blumenthal. This post is to inform others attending Blumental events...DO NOT purchase an additional $5 parking ticket as announced just before the show starts. Arias validated parking pass is all thats necessary. Details of my experience 8/9/16: A Parking "ticket" announcement made just before the Newsies performance addressed $5 "additional" ticket needed even if you have a validated parking ticket. Blumenthal lobby has "Parking" designated tables to sell these $5 tickets. Heres the problem, when I took my validated (via Aria Resturant, where I had dinner befor the play), the Blumenthal representative at the designated "P"arking table insisted I had to pay Blumenthal an additional $5. I knew this couldnt be correct but did not argue. I asked what would happen if I didnt pay her the $5; her response, the restruants tell you they validated but they dont and Id have to pay more when leaving the show. The person managing the gate at parking departure gate also strongly insisted Id have to have the 2nd "ticket" from Blumenthal to exit or pay him $10. I gave him my Aria validated parking pass (which was in fact validated by Aria) the gate opened and the parking attendant appoligised and I proceeded to leave the parking deck. The play was good. Suggest Blumenthal correct their pre-performance announcement and properly educate "P"arking table attendants to tell those with "validated" parking tickets that they do not need to purchase the so called 2nd parking ticket.

On Wednesday of last week my son and his wife and my husband and I attended the Shen Yun performance celebrating the culture, traditions and folklore of China. The combination of western and Asian instruments was awesome. There were multiple scenes featuring the different dance forms used, some traditional and some more interpretive. The costuming and the special effect background were beautiful. Before each scene a gentleman and lady came on stage to explain what we were to see next. This was very helpful. One of the speakers spoke English and the other spoke Chinese. The whole performance was one of inspiration and grace. I will be bringing the grandchildren next year. Our group was also very appreciative of the extra help we were given by getting me a wheelchair. One lovely lady let us look inside the balcony to see if I could make the 12 step up to our seats. I could not. She then went to the ticketing booth and checked to see if there were seats that I could use without climbing steps. Hurray!! We were all able to sit together. I realize that this may not always be possible. She also explained how to get this kind of seating in the future and that a wheelchair would be available and that someone would see me to and from my car. Everyone could not have been more gracious and helpful. Our evening was a success thanks to the assistance of all. We have already purchased tickets for the July presentation of Porgy & Bess. Thank you to all for a wonderful evening.

RE - Wicked show tonight. THIS IS STUPID and the administrative officers of the Blumenthal PAC are making very poor decisions!!! Our state is in a FORMAL State of Emergency, its all over WCNC, the National Weather Service and media... and the Blumenthal PAC is STILL NOT cancelling tonights performance of Wicked tonight???? What in the world will is take? And I dont want to drive in this dangerous weather. Me, my family and friends getting in a car accident and dying just because the officers chose to not lose money? How disappointing. Shame on you Blumenthal PAC and Charlotte for not demanding it. At least the people at the Nascar Hall of Fame know when to make safe decisions for the public.

I can always enjoy a theatric performance or a jazz show at Belk Theater. The volunteer ushers are knowledgeable and courteous to attendees. Seats are comfy and some have drink holders at the bottom of the seat (near the floor), although I wouldnt place an open container down there. Drink and snack prices are on the high side but comparable to other event facilities in Charlotte. Beer prices, of course, are less than wine. The ladies room has been updated and accommodates considerably more women so that you can get back to the show on time after intermission. Great job on that as it was a long time coming.

The Blumenthal provides an unique atmosphere that all resident of Charlotte should experience at least once in a life time. Although the price of admission can inhibit some, it is well in line with the rest of the industry and more than well worth in its value it provides. The acoustics and seating are excellent from any corner. In short, no bad seats. Last time I went we sat at the balcony which makes one feel very special. Highly recommend this for special occasions, anniversaries, or, any day really. Enjoy.

Very friendly staff, concession personnel, and ushers. The Center is big and clean, and like so many centers of today, rather non-descript and architecturally not easily recalled. Parking options are plentiful and the Center has negotiated $5 deals with a couple - I use the Bank of America parking deck which is accessed on 5th Street. Then take the parking garages elevator to the 6th Floor to the Skywalk across to the Performing Arts Center. This is the quickest way to your seat!

Loved the production, but was equally impressed by the quantity and quality of ushers & the well-laid out facilitiy. There had to have been a thousand women needing to use the restroom in one 20-minute intermission and it was a thing of beauty to see the precision and speed with which the facilitys lay-out and the ushers directions allowed this to be accomplished! The users were uniformly friendly, knowledgeable, and gently assertive in assuring that all flowed smoothly.

Show was great. Phone calls every week afterwards not so great. Ticket booth personnell will call you off paper lead sheets every week wanting you to purchase tickets for another show, or to leave annoying voicemails. Ive asked to be removed from the call list 3 times now. Well see how that goes. Seems like bad business to me, people that have a desire to see shows will buy tickets without needing Friday afternoon and dinner time sales calls.

We love this venue - especially since they redid the seats. Lots of great seating and the handicapped balconies are very spacious and accommodating. We typically go here for the musicals (Broadway Lights Series) and have been impressed with the quality of shows. Additionally the beverage service is great and wont cost you an arm and a leg either. The ushers are very friendly and I love being able to pay for my parking along with my concessions.

I was invited out to The Book of Mormon playing at the Orpheus Theater. I laughed so hard, I had tears running down my legs. The theater is a great venue in the city, but the area in which it sits is a little sketchy and there is no close parking, so be prepared to walk a bit.The acoustics in the 2nd level - upper tier could use some amplification, but the view is good from anywhere in the theater. Sit back and enjoy the show!
