I play here kinda alot since its geographically closest to me and I like the individual holes, the guys that work here and the overall conditions. So why only 3 stars? Because every time I walk off 18 I say to myself "Im done with this place". Just when you think youve seen the worst golf behavior, you see some things on this course that completely blow your mind. The dire need for a ranger is apparent every time you play here. Because the pace can get really slow, people think nothing of jumping around the course and in front of groups actually trying to finish a 5 1/2 hour round before it gets dark. To get from the 15th green to 16th tee you need to cross the 2nd, 1st, 18th and then 17th fairway. When you get there its not unusual to find mystery players in front of you that werent there all day. I dont know if its rudeness, ignorance, or plain stupidity but whatever it is, it seems to occur more here than any other place I play. Whenever someone mentions Forest Park I always reply, "like the golf course, hate the golfers that play there".

Played Aug. 22 for first time on a visit to NYC and shot 78 from the white tees. Fairways and greens were in great shape. A fun course to play with a mix of tough and easy holes. Only drawback is that the fairways are too close to each other … this is what I call a "hard hat" course because you need some sort of protection from wayward golf shots. We had other groups playing out of our fairway all day.

This is one of my favorite courses in nyc to play. Their friendly and helpful staff always ensure a great weekend of golf with friends. Their facilities could use a little more work, the lack of a driving range is a big negative. Transportation is also not that easy to use coming from Queens.

This course PACKS in the tee times without a single ounce of respect for the paying golfers. It took over an hour past my "tee time" at the starter to begin my round. Didnt even get to finish. This place is choosing more money over a quality experience for players. Wont be back.

Easiest to get to from Manhattan, but note a few things: - you NEED to tee off before 8am if you want to get around in under 5 hours - they dont honor tee times (related to above) - the yardage from the back tees is wildly inaccurate. plays about 500 yards shorter

I really liked this course and really recommend it. Reason I gave 4 stars is because there are definitely areas of improvement. Very well maintained and they have a beverage cart that comes around frequently to stock you on food and drinks.

First time in a hold course and liked the overall experience. The check in was seamless, the course was nice and people werent pushy for a newcomer.

Nicely maintained course. Can get crowded at times, but the rangers are usually pretty good in moving players along.
