So let me start off by saying that this movie theater has a great reputation and I was super excited to come visit. Being someone who is not from Rochester I was excited to go to the imax theater that was shaped like a spaceship! I was also excited to do something fun with my partner(When you have kids this happens less and less lol). We decided on a late movie because we knew my 8 month old son would sleep through the entire movie which would allow everyone, including us, to enjoy the movie. After a 20 minute drive and some quick coordination with our friends we were stopped because this theater has a policy that kids under 6 can not go to rated r movies after 6:00 pm. So I am looking on your website for the policy that says I cant bring a child under the age of 6 to a rated R movie after 6:00 pm but I can not find it on your website at all. So I am curious to know how the public would be informed of it. We have been to plenty of movie theaters with my 8 Month old son and have never had this issue. So were racking our brains trying to figure out if this policy is for content purposes or customers. Well it cant be due to inappropriate content because you can bring your child before 6:00 pm to see a rated R film with the same content. It also can not be due to other customers because we could take our son into a PG13 Movie and disrupt other customers after 6:00 pm or before 6:00 pm. We can also bring our son to a rated R film before 6:00 pm. The point being that it made absolutely no sense and it was just a big waste of time. To make matters worse our friends said the theater was empty for the movie we wanted to see which is why we came so late in the first place. I cant understand why I can bring my awoke fussy child to the movies before 6:00pm and not bring my sleepy child to the moves after 6:00pm. Especially when the theater is empty. We were trying to be thoughtful and come late while our son was sleeping and there were less people but instead the policy implies we should catch a 5:30pm movie when everyone would either be coming after work or during the day and our son would be wide awake and screaming might I add! that makes so much more sense I will keep that in mind for the future.

PLEASE READ FOR ALL QUESTIONS TO BE ANSWERED----------- The minute I walked in the door I knew it was amazing and the whole place is extremely BIG!!!!! The staff is very friendly and talkative with you. Another thing is that the food is AMAZING!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! It is pricy but amazing and they try to get it to you as fast as possible. They have everything from chicken fingers to ice cream and milk shakes. The carpets are very clean and amazing STADIUM SEATING. The seats are very comfortable and made of leather. There is not even a spec of dust to be seen! The sound quality is amazing and I love the clarity of the screen. Just to let you know I have been to other theaters such as Regal and all the other expensive ones but this is by far one of the best!!!!! Just a few things is that the seats dont recline but they rock back and are comfortable and they have a really cool arcade!!!!!!! PLEASE AT LEAST GO ONCE IN YOUR LIFE!!!!!

This particular theater has undergone recent renovations. I am very pleased with how unique their take is on the recliners. Their seats are different, comfortable, and spaced out so that each row is honestly like its own theater. You look back and you cant see the row behind you or in front of you. The only complaint I can make here is that in some of the smart theaters inside, the seats are too close to the walls and they actually hit the wall when attempting to recline. They also are too far back resulting in seeing the top of the seat in the row in front of them when reclined as far as the wall will allow. The speakers on the walls also need to be repositioned as it seems they were not moved to match the new space. It impedes audio quality and in particular dialogs. It seems the seat issue is not present in the larger theaters. Those are exceptionally well done.

My son and I went to see a movie here and we picked out our seats via the computer. We sat down and another couple came up and said we were in their seats. Then another couple came up and said the same thing. There, obviously, was a computer issue as they over booked J7 and J8. Long story short, they booted US out and placed us in the front row. The movie had already started at this point. We ended up asking for our money back and we got it and went home. I called Kathryn (manager) the next day as it wasnt siting well with me how it was handled, even though they made right and gave us our money back. Still ate up an entire evening, gas back and forth... Anyway Kathryn went above and beyond, listened, was sympathetic , concerned and ended up sending 2 free passes in the mail. It was a big pain in the butt night but it was made right by Kathryn. Thank you.

I enjoy watching A movie at Tinseltown if it is the very first showing because it is inexpensive. However I do know that they had reused popcorn from the day before which does not taste very good and does take away from the experience, so if you plan to purchase popcorn make sure it is popping when they are bagging it. The theater was recently renovated with brand-new seating. The seats do something different now. Theyre really really nice. The color scheme is completely different it is more browns and tan pallet. Know that you will have to wait at concession for quite a while if you go to the first showing because they will not be staffed well enough for a long line. Give yourself plenty of time to not miss the beginning of your movie.

Just saw Logan. When I went in to the theater I was told I couldnt bring in my back pack... Mind you I am 45 year old skinny white guy. I was like you can look inside but was told I had to go back out to my car and leave it there. I came straight from work with money and important work paperwork. But the lady next to me walks right in with a pocket book bigger than my back pack and they never even look in it. Wtf. So I guess if you are going to be a terrorist just dress like a women and pack a pocket book...... Nice policy. And to make matters worse just at the end of the movie some high as F guy tries to tell me I am in his seat. Only problem he is early for the next show... Really??? Nice security.....

Excellent picture, Horrible sound. This USED to be a great theater, however as this theater ages, and degrades, no repairs are performed. Sit in on the first 5 minutes of the IMAX intro (the bit in the beginning where they brag about screen size and sound) and you will notice there is NO bass. None. Zip-Zero-Zilch, NADA! How can you claim IMAX level of viewing yet cripple the experience by allowing the sound to go by the wayside. Not worth the extra price. since there are no other IMAX theaters in the area, save your cash and see it on a digital screen with a worthy sound system.
