To start with the fact that I am not from NJ. So yes, I did my research on what it would take for someone with an expired license (turned 21 the 28th) to get into a bar specifically in NJ. To which NJ bar regulations state they must have other forms of identification to prove they are who they say they are. She had a temporary paper licence, her expired license, her marriage certificate, birth certificate, AND her work ID which had her picture on it. THEY REFUSED TO LET HER IN because, and I quote, "drivers license are the only form of identification that matter". They also gave her a hard time because, and again I quote. "Paper licenses arent a federal form of ID" what a joke. Its issued by the DMV, same as a regular license, just for temporary purposes. Along with the fact that if you do get in they want to charge you $20 cover, get outta here! Save the hassle and go down the road. Went to Hemingway and had no trouble getting her in, no cover, reasonably priced drinks, clean, had a great time! The bouncer even laughed when we told them our situation, guess they hear that a lot about bamboo!

Worst experience ever! Security was super rude and disrespectful including "the boss". I am 21 years old with a state ID which wasnt enough because they thought it was "FAKE"...so besides my other credit cards the only other photo ID all I had was my debit card with my full name and picture, but the bouncer said it wasnt enough so I had to talk to "the boss"...which wasnt any help or even respectful enough to look at me as I spoke with him. This is the first time I have ever experienced bouncers who dont know what a real NJ STATE ID looks like, Ive been to plenty of bars in the area and my ID was never an issue. Also this club allows minors under 21 to drink, clearly they were let in with fake IDs (teenagers I met outside and bar next to bamboo which are connected). I dont understand why children are allowed in this place. If you are a security/bouncer you should be certified and trained to know what a REAL New Jersey state ID looks like and know the difference between a real and fake ID. Never again. Definitely dont recommend this place.

Went here for the first time for New Years 2016. I was impressed by the retro-90s/early 2000s club atmosphere, it felt fun but quaintly dated. The music was a little harder than your average "jersey shore club" which I liked and the open bar/buffet was great! Our bartender was awesome, she made us great (and strong) drinks but was aware of our party and I could tell she was making sure we were staying safe while getting my friends where they wanted to be! Overall I really enjoyed this place, it wasnt as bro-ey as most of the clubs, and felt gay-friendly enough to enjoy with my partner which cannot be said about every spot in seaside. I went into this place expecting a 3-star experience but I definitely had a 5-star night!

The famous five star Goobers 52 Original Restaurant is coming to the Bamboo Bar. Goobers 52 Original Restaurant will be located on the restaurant side of the Bamboo. Goobers 52 Original Restaurant will bring a nice crowd of people. I hope they will do the full scale menu that is very excellent. Bouncer with tribal tattoos is a jerk, completely sober I went to ask him a question and he jabbed his elbow into my chest... I come here weekly but this guy is a complete jerk... Some people are just pathetic and take their jobs as "guards" too seriously... Either he is antsy ad afraid of everything around him or I caught him off guard either way Im very dissapointed!

My Wife and I met there 14 & 1/2 years ago. Back in the day it was f#*king awsome, great staff,great music and was managed better than any place else in the heights,BAR NONE!!!! This was the place to be for the locals! We went back a few time after the "NEON" took over & it just wasnt the same place. Went from a solid 8 to just hanging on to a 2 @best.

Very big indoors and outside sitting areas. Drinks were not too expensive and beer was cheap. Bartenders were a good mix of enthusiastic, sexy, and fun. Random mix of people when I went near the end of summer; mainly mid twenties crowd. Music was good to dance to. Very safe as a fight started between two small dudes and security popped up immediately.

Sucky bartender she was rude and moved like a frozen snail with a bad attitude. Raw oysters where warm and disgusting music was great if you like 70s staying alive era music. All the staff seemed overworked and having the worst day ever.

Great place to go if you want to get stabbed. Drink prices are way too high. The place is filthy. I feel like Im in the ghetto every time I walk in the door. If it wasnt for Mike Naso the bartender Id have no reason to ever return.
