This is a nice piece of land but unfortunately like most things run by Westchester county they over charge and under deliver. The beach is nice for the Hudson river but the old beach building is falling down and has been in disrepair for years. They put up a trailer and porta pottys instead of fixing the building. This place would be a gold mine if they let a third party rent it. Same thing happened with the pool and pool house on the same property. They built a beautiful pool and building about 10 years ago. Now its closed and crumbling. Third party vendor could have done something nice. Westchester county just run it into the ground. Main office for RV and tent campsites has 3 workers. One on the computer browsing the internet the other on her iPad. Basically a show no work job. $50 a night for RV. $900 per month for long term campers. $15 for the dump station. A few RVs had junk all around them. The dump station had garbage strewn all over. The lid for the dump station is broken and rusty. The maintenance buildings are old brick looks like the CCC days. They are boarded up with again a office trailer for the workers.

Beautiful park, but nobody was on duty after 4:45 pm on a Friday - I got my gate card key on "check in" because it was up on a bulletin board. Unfortunately, that closed office was the only place to buy firewood and you are not allowed to bring in your own - so no campfire for me. There is a quiet policy after 10 which is not enforced. I camped next to a group of young couples which brought their TV (!!!!) and was up until midnight hearing the basketball game and their loud game of sexual dictionary (no joke) while camping with my young daughter. Zero enforcement of noise policy in this camp. When they charged me $50 the next morning (!!) to camp there with a tent (!!!) the park manager mumbled a "sorry for any inconvenience" without looking up from her computer screen. Basically, if you want to pay a lot of money to stay at a beautiful park run by the DMV, this is the finest awful experience in the East.

If the water was dirty, then why is it open to the public? Theyve cleaned up the river a lot since the 90s. Its a river. Its not a swimming pool, what does one expect? And I feel the lifeguards do a fantastic job doing what theyre required to do which is saving lives, and enforcing the rules, not creating the boundries of the swimming area. Thats regulated by the Park and what the state requires. Theres a certain square footage that one lifeguard can watch at one time, and if people have a problem, they can always go to the office and tell them to hire more lifeguards to open more area. Otherwise the swimming area wont get expanded.

Large park with a few nice children playgrounds and beach with lifeguards in summer. In summer months there is charge for parking. At top there is a camping ground with large Olympic size swimming pool. You can rent huts at the park headquarters near the entrance. Some RV campers park there from May to October and make it there home. At the very end of the campground area there is a great place to view the Hudson River and see all the way down to the Tappan Zee bridge. Note that going down to beach at that point is VERY steep and helps to use the rope that people put there.

It would be nice if all of the park signs and website info was updated to say that its actually $10 to park with a park pass in addition to $4 per adult for entrance. Nearly $20 for two people to go to a beach with barely any amenities? Sorry, looks like I wont be going here anymore. (TIP: Maybe give out wristbands as people are entering instead of having workers with attitudes hound you while youre on the beach.) Edit: Rating adjusted after we were able to talk to park rangers and have our $5 refunded.

We went there to camp. The sites are quite big which accommodates several tents. The facilities are a bit far which is inconvenient. The beach area is not the greatest but there is not a lot they can do except for the restroom facilities by the beach which were pretty nasty. Also, there is no enforcement of quiet time after 11 PM. There was a big group playing music and talking loud way past that. A few improvement to this place could make it so much better.

Love this park. Great Hudson River views and open spaces. Even a campground. Dogs must be leashed, but we saw many friendly dogs running loose and playing while under the scrutiny of their humans. Ample playground equipment for the little ones. Restroom facilities and porta-potties abound. The only setback was that the beach was littered with debris and difficult to walk on. Swimming was totally out of the question.

We camped here for almost 2 weeks over the summer. It is an excellent location if you are wanting to visit NYC. The train station is literally right outside the park and only a 45 minute ride into the city. We had a nice site with full hookups. The park itself is also beautiful and seems to have a lot to do. The restrooms were not very clean and there was no laundry facilities. Other than that we enjoyed it.

I am disappointed about this place other than we paid $ 200.00 for a reserved table we were treated to racism and injustice took us to the police by the simpme fact have moved a few tables because I was doing a lot of sun I felt descriminada by the fact that Hispanic apart we spoke with a grocera acctitud by a park worker

The campground is nice. However, there was no table/bench at our site, someone had moved it. Staff did not help when we called them about it, finally a neighboring lady allowed us to use hers. So people on the campground are nice, but the young staff in the office seemed not too motivated. Bathrooms were not very clean.

Beautiful, well kept dog friendly park. While there were a lot of people at the park never did you have the feeling of being crowded. there are campsites, barbecue grills without campsites, pavilions to be reserved, large open spaces to play ball. This is a complete park with plenty of room and plenty of scenery .

I really do like this park, its beautiful and has alot of space for kids and BBQing, this would be 5 stars but u could not find a hiking trail for the life of me and that would be the only thing this park would need to he perfect.
