On May 30th 2016 I took my family from Gaithersburg Maryland to Tomahawk Lake Water Park. We arrived around 2:30 pm. immediately; we were informed that cash was the one and only method of payment. I went ahead and purchased tickets for three adults and three children to which I requested a receipt and this was denied by an employee who later on informed us that they do not provide receipts for above mentioned transactions. I found it awkward and weird. Additionally, the employee instructed us to park my vehicle on the grass, this is not only illegal but also against all city parking rules. He also gave me a yellow paper with instructions of where to park as if a person holding a driver license wouldn’t know where and how to park. The paper reads “Vehicles must park where directed”. He vehemently informed me “we are responsible for any damages caused to your vehicle, park your vehicle where I am instructing you, since he gave me the instructions in black and white I went ahead and proceeded. Around 5:25 pm I was walking to my vehicle and I noticed when a blue pickup was reversing and hit my car. There was no one inside of my car and with the engine off, totally parked as previously instructed. There were a few eyewitnesses who immediately told me to call security. Unfortunately, there was no one from security who could assist me at the main gate. The driver who hit my car ran away since the main gate was wide open without any security or team member present. Without hesitation I grabbed my cell phone and called 911 to request for assistance. I went to the beach area and an employee by the name of Miguel dispatched security over the radio. It took almost twenty minutes for security to arrive to the “parking lot”, Miguel and a manager who refused to give me his name. The manager blatantly told me “that is why you pay insurance” you need to call the police; we are not responsible for any damages caused to your car. Obviously, the lack of accountability is huge. Once the police arrived, the officer who took all details pertaining to the incident including information from a man who eyes witnessed the incident. Additionally, it is important to mention that a car was stolen from the parking facility the same day my car was hit, a clear indication that there is not accountability on this place.

Ive read a lot of reviews and many of them have been negative. Ive been going her for the past 3 years and have loved it! The list of things that you cannot do I guess is annoying but it wasnt a huge deal. I didnt even think it was a bad thing until I read the reviews. Also the prices were not terrible. The price of the wrist bands for the water slides range from $12-15 depending on your age and the day that you go. I dont think this price is that expensive for unlimited water slides. And the admission ranges from $11-$14 depending on your age and the day that you go. I thought the water slides were a lot of fun and the lake was clean and fun. The place was crowded but I mean, they cant really help that. I guess that means their business is doing great! And if you go on a weekend, you have to expect that. The lake was more crowded than the water slides and the lines for the water slides were all relatively short and the longest I had to wait for a slide was probably around 10 minutes. I actually like it better than the really big, well known water parks. The reason I did not give is 5 stars is because of the staff. For the most part, all the lifeguards were rude and very unhelpful. As soon as you hit the water they scream "GET OUT OF THE TUBE!" Its like, I know I have to get out of the tube..thanks for all your help. You actually have to give me a second to get off the tube. I understand they want to keep the line moving but their is no need to be mean about it. Also, I saw someone having trouble getting out of the tube and swimming back to the doc and the life guard didnt even flinch. Her husband had to help her out of the water and you could tell they were really struggling and the lifeguard did not even ask if they were okay or get out of his chair. So you have to be a very good swimmer because you cannot expect the lifeguards to help. And I did not see any alcohol or drunk people any time I went! This is a very family friendly area. Everyone who is there is with theyre family. There is always babies, toddlers, teenagers, etc., because it is fun for everyone. I would recommend people to go here if they like having fun, eating great food, and doing all of this for a reasonable price

Its a nice place to go, family oriented BUT they are too expensive for all the restrictions they have! You basically cant do anything! You cant have tents, umbrellas with the folding sides, no music at all not even playing from your phone, no ball playing on the beach or the water, no glass bottles, everything has to be can or in your own container, no smoking on the beach, no playing in the water...YOU CANT DO ANYTHING AND FOR THE $14 you pay per person its extremely expensive, you have to pay extra for the water rides or the boats..Its ridiculous! Also the women here have no respect for themselves or the fact that the majority are kids here..They walk around half naked, in very extremely revealing bathing suits with thongs that show they whole ass or show they entire breasts when wet nipples and all..I understand that everyone has the right to wear what they want but at the same time this is more of a family oriented establishment and with the majority being kids there should be a dress code when it comes to how revealing a womans swim wear should be.. Staff is no help at all and very rude! We had a huge umbrella that turns into a tent, weve seen people have those there before, we were there for a while when a staff member came yelling at us to take it down we told her it isnt a tent its an umbrella and she rudely responded with "then put it up and dont put the sided down " I told her you dont have to be rude learn to talk to people you didnt have to come at me yelling you shouldve spoken to me not the entire lake and weve been here for a while and now is when come telling us to take this down? Whay exactly is it that the staff ous paying attention to? She walked away.. Bathrooms are disgusting, extremely small, always dirty and always smell bad for the amount of money they charge for everything the bathrooms should be allot nicer.

We went for this labor day and it was jam packed for sure. We had tried to get there early however we were beat by about 30 cars in line. We found a semi good part near the lake but not too far from the kiddie section of the pool. The price of admission is definately too high. $11 per adult and they charged us for our two year old which most places do not charge. Her admission was $10! They charge for every little thing and person. Im surprised they dont charge you for the use of the bathroom. They have no grills. We did not expect that! You can buy grills there.... of course theres more money for them. They grills are overpriced for cheap quality. Because of the lack of grills, people bring their own which poses as a fire hazard... the people next to use set their garbage can on fire because they put their little grill on it. The lake was alright, not clear just lots of green. They do have paddle boats however $4 for only 20 mins for each person is not a bargain. The condition of the park is ok, not too impressive. We went to get ice cream and they had a limited selection... no sprinkles and no chocolate fudge. As the other reviewer said, I did see the owner speeding around in the park on their fancy golfcarts, yelling at people and commenting how he has put his money into this and that. There is alot of people playing LOUD spanish music, so if you like that, its good I guess. There is alot to do if you have kids... you do have to pay to go into the waterpark in addition to the admission. So if you want to go for broke, losing lots of money, and skip going down the jersey shore ... go to tomahawk lake.
