I went to this place with 1 other adult and 7 kids ages 2 - 9. To make a long story short, service was atrocious from the start. We bowled one frame on two lanes and the machines went crazy on us. For 30 mins we went back and forth with the people at the desk to help us. They could not get the lanes to register when a bowler knocked pins. We finally gave up as the kids were fed up and wanted our $ back. We were frustrated but things dont always work out as planned. Then this crazy dude started telling us that not only would we not get a refund, but we owed him for 2 1/2 games for all 9 people!!! We were only there for 45 mins according to the computer ( 30 mins dealing with problems and 15 mins to put on shoes and bowl 1 frame). He started lecturing us that we are out to get something for nothing. It escalated into a screaming match. The girl that set up the game and who was trying to help us for the 30 mins knew there was no possible way we bowled anywhere close to a game just based on the timing but refused to say it since she clearly needed her job. The manager refused to come out and talk with us despite multiple requests. Finally, when we got on the phone to call the credit card company to dispute the charge, they finally refunded our shoe money. We didnt pay them a cent and I never will. Worst service EVER.

As someone who bowls at this bowling center on a daily basis, I believe that I have received a better grasp of how this establishment is run, as opposed to those who leave a review after one rough experience. One recent review complains about the fact that they were denied the use of bumpers. Being that they were in their late teens, I respectfully agree that they should not have used bumpers. Every rule created at a bowling alley is created for a reason, this one in particular prevents the potential damage of the bumpers, which were intended for children 10 or under. The workers are extremely considerate and caring. If one does not bowl often and happens to go on a busier day, such as Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, he/she has to understand that controlling such a large amount of people at once is very stressful and difficult for a bowling alley. A single bad experience should not deter one from going there again, considering the great specialties they have to offer for all ages.

Fire the round bald "man" and Ill come there everyday. My girlfriend and I went bowling for one afternoon which shes only been once or twice ever. We are both in our late teens so we asked for the bumpers. Apparently any kind of actual physical work is too much for the short, rude, and obviously incompetent bald owner. The entire time he just sat and drank beers with his local friends. He refused to open them saying that often teenagers crack the bumpers. My girlfriend was using a 6lb ball for fun and the couple next to us in there early twenties had bumpers up too. Simple customer service usually goes a long way but not when you cant even do something basic like that. AVOID THIS PLACE

Theyve redone the inside, and I give them credit for that. But every lane is laser light all the time. Really? What about those of us who actually bowl? The same guy works the desk, he seems nice but hes really not. He put me on a list. "How long will that take?" "Well, there are three people ahead." "But how long, about, in minutes?" "There are three people." A half hour later, I left, no names had been called. Thats characteristic of these lanes. I bowled in a league here once. Big mistake. They cancelled a game and never made it up - no other league does something like that. Take your business elsewhere - Eagle Rock or Boonton.

Its a bowling alley with slightly above average bowling alley fried food and a decent sized game room. Dont expect much different. Both league and recreational friendly, it can be difficult to get a lane depending on the time of day and need. The bar is bland with a good liquor selection, but no specialty or craft beer. Our Wednesday evening bartender makes the evening special.

Dishonest workers and owner!!! They charged my credit card for $100 for 1 game of bowling. We noticed the fraudulent charge once we received our credit card bill, and when confronted about it Hanover Lanes said there was nothing they could do and kept the $100 charge. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!! or if you have to go, then only use cash!

We wanted to spend some time together as a family at the alley. Unfortunately this establishment displayed an total lack of interest in securing our business simply by being poor customer service people. I will say it was busy so I will grant them that, however that is still no reason to be rude and dismissive of customers.

Its like stepping back in time when you walk in. Old score keeping machines and no atmosphere to speak of. If youre looking for a very cheap place to bowl, this isnt a bad choice. If youre looking for a fun lively place to have fun bowling, seek elsewhere.

Went with my kids and 2 of their friends. It was fine, no issue, service was decent. The food service was slow but the place was crowded, so that is understandable. Based on the reviews, I was going to cancel it. I am glad I went as we had fun.

Hanover Lanes is a nice place. They have the gutter protectors if you want to bring your kids, but most of the set-up is from the 1970s and that boom in bowling. They also will host your kids birthday party, which works well.

ive been bowling here several times and always had a good experience. that it can get loud is the only possible complaint i could see. good place for a kids birthday party. they have a couple of rooms for cake afterwards.

The register shut down at 12:40p... And we was consuming drinks all 4 of us.. I asked for one more game. I was denied. Mind you 3 other lanes was on their 4th set.. We played one game in 15min.... I will NEVER GO BACK!

Overpriced, and fryers were down, so it was a bummer that I couldnt order snacks for my daughters birthday that she wanted. There was no apology. The place is clean and organized however. I would give it another try

I went to this bowling alley today with my kids and a friend. The personals are rude, very disorganized and unpleasant. I was embarassed to take my friend there and I will never go back there.

I bowl here on league nights and find the lanes to be very well kept, the staff is friendly and the general maintenance is pretty good. I would recommend this bowling alley!
