Cape May Stage truly is a gem. My wife and I became season subscribers to Cape May Stage shortly after moving to Cape May from the Philadelphia area. I can honestly say that weve enjoyed the performances weve experienced here more than those at the Walnut Street Theatre, which we used to subscribe to. The quality of the acting is truly world class and the selection of plays is diverse, with a little bit of something for every taste. Cape May Stage is an intimate theatre with roughly 100 seats, all of them excellent. The recent renovation that was just completed is incredible and has created a truly comfortable atmosphere for some great theatre. I would DEFINITELY recommend planning a night at Cape May Stage for your next visit to Cape May. By the way, while everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I think the person who panned Cape May Stage last August is misguided. Private Lives was written in the 1920s and reflects the comic sensibilities of the day, but has incredible insight into the future. Perspective is important sometimes!

My husband and I look forward to our biyearly visits to Cape May. We love strolling the streets and seeing all the beautiful Victorian homes, laying out at the beautiful beach while reading up on the locals tips and happenings in the ever popular Exit Zero and then eating at one of Cape Mays yummy restaurants (I heart Geckos) -- but what we really look forward to is seeing a show at Cape May Stage. We live a stones throw from NYC and see shows there often but for the price of show in the city vs. the price of a show at CMS, our choice is CMS! Their shows are are always a delight --- broadway quality, baby! Staff is very friendly and seating is comfy with not a bad seat in the house (you cant say that about broadway)!

As a New Yorker for almost 10 years, its such a privilege to have the most professional theatrical productions right in your "backyard." However, while vacationing in my favorite New Jersey Shore Town, Cape May - I have found a GEM. Cape May Stage is a professional equity company that I have come to love. The caliber of talent that Cape May Stage attracts is outstanding and you can tell how much the audience appreciates the work that has gone into each production. If you ever have vacation in Victorian Cape May, make a point to get tickets to a show at Cape May Stage, its a summer experience (or any other season) that cannot be missed!

My husband and I saw the show on opening night, May 21 in the newly renovated Robert Shackleton Playhouse. We enjoyed the whole production including actors, staging, lighting, sound, you name it. The stars, Deborah Jean Templet and Larry Daggett, were magnificent together. The chemistry was perfect and the two players elicited much laughter. Most enjoyable production and hope to see it again before its run is over. Highly recommend this sophisticated comedy as directed by the talented Roy Steinberg.

At one point one of the actors broke character and laughed on stage. This breach of professionalism is only forgivable, and actually commendable, because it was the only funny moment in the entire show. Overall the show was terrible and far too long. If you are not borderline senile, skip it and see Dark Knight twice more for the same price.

I always try to catch the latest production at Cape May Stage. The theatre itself is in a wonderfully restored historic building that has a state-of-the-art auditorium with comfortable seats and excellent sight lines. The shows have consistently been highly enjoyable and, in every way, top drawer.

A funny, heart warming story made even more interesting by being based on real people. The performances were outstanding. The venue was perfect for an intimate view of one persons view of the world.

A charming theater that attracts some incredible talent from the broadway scene. Saw the 13 Steps performance which was hilarious. It was a nice date night after the day at the beach.
