I really cant say how the decor is but when we first started ordering from the restaurant 6 months ago the food was excellent and the service was friendly. Recently we ordered food to be delivered. According to the computer the restaurant is about 8 minutes from where we live. About 55 minutes later the food had not arrived so we called the person that answered the phone stated that she was on her way and that our place was all the way across town from their location. We finally receive our food and we had ordered scallion pancakes but there wasnt any sauce. We again called the restaurant and the woman that answered said they would send it over. About 8 minutes, about the time it would have taken to deliver the sauce, a man calls and begins to argue with my daughter that the cook said it was in a small container in the bag. My daughter assured him that there were only three containers in the bag, one was hot mustard, one was a large duck sauce we had ordered and the other was a small duck sauce. The man proceeded to call her a liar that the small one was the pancake sauce. My daughter said she would show her the small container but he continued to yell at her. We then waited about 45 minutes again and still didnt get the sauce so my other daughter called and the man kept yelling over her and being rude. We finally got the sauce one hour and fifteen minutes to just get the sauce we had asked for twice and paid for. The second time my daughter called he wanted us to pay for a delivery charge for the delivery of the sauce they had forgotten. At least we now know that the man who was yelling was the owner. Any restaurant owner should know that the customer is doing them a favor by ordering at their restaurant and not the owner doing the customer a favor by waiting on them. We should get the service and food we pay for without any dispute. I worked in the restaurant business and customer service for years you cant keep a business alive without catering to the people that provide you with your income. To conclude total time between ordering the food and finally receiving the sauce two and one half hours. NEVER AGAIN!

If i could give this place 0 stars i would. Myself and 5 friends love Chinese food and heard about this place from its award winning, #33 best Chinese in the country, reputation. With al the praise we read about this place it was a easy choice to go there. When we got there sat night at 6 it was completely empty. We ordered our food and waited 45 minutes for it to come out. When it finally did most of it was luke warm or cold. Even the wonton soup i ordered was right on the line of warm/cold. Though we all ordered different things and meals not one came with rice(which isnt a big deal but every single other Chinese place usually gives you rice, and for the price the small meals cost its not worth it) Now i love fried/unhealthy food but this stuff(crab rangoon, chicken fingers, fried shrimp) was INEDIBLE to all of us. It got to the point where we would dare each other to take a bite of the DISGUSTING food. The rest of our food wasnt horrible but it wasnt good either. It was just bland and average. Definitely not worth the awards its been given. Ive had better Chinese from a cheap buffet. The server who took our order was friendly, the one time we saw her. Then a new person brought us our food and ignored our attempts to ask for a refill on drinks. I had to actually go to back to the receptionist who sat us to ask for drink refills and she was not happy that i bothered her. We never saw another waiter or waitress pass by or come to check on us until they delivered the outrageous bill. The only good thing about this place was the fortune cookies. The bill came out to be extreme and not worth what we ordered at all. None of us will ever be back there and I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE ALOT OF MONEY TO WASTE, NO TASTE BUDS, AND A BACK-UP PLACE ALREADY PLANNED OUT. Worst Chinese Food I Have Ever Had and Worst Service i Have Ever Had.

I have never written a review before, but felt the need to with this place. We drove to china bistro from wolfeboro with our 2 young kids solely because we read about the award they won. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. When we walked in, right outside the front door was a nice chicken bone we had to walk around. Not the nicest greeting, but we kept going. Sat down inside and I killed 2 ants on our table and my son killed one. Still, we were determined to try the food from this award winning place. We order, grumbling a little that Rice does not come with the $80 of food we ordered. Then, the food all comes at once. Appetizers main food, but we are hungry so we are ok with this. My 8 year old son who adores Chinese was the first to say how bad it was. I had 2 pieces of sushi and could not bring myself to eat anymore. Best general gau???? I would hate to see the worst. We had an awesome family day and the restaurant really put a damper on the day with just horrible food. Sorry, I am sure the owner is a nice guy, but I do not want other families to go being excited about the award and then being as disappointed as we were when we left. My husband said it best when we got into the car. He said "I need a shower to wash that experience away"

Good food, high prices and weird policies. I stopped in and got some food to go after reading good reviews about the place. In the lobby they have a lot of awards on the walls, but they all seem to be years old. I ordered a Sushi Roll, Sesame Beef, and Crab Rangoon. The Sushi roll was good, rice was seasoned properly and the roll was built well. The Sesame Beef could have come from any chinese takeout I have ever been to....nothing wrong, just special either. The one thing I read about this place repeatedly was that they have the best rangoon around. I think that again they could have come from any chinese takeout place on the planet, nothing special. The biggest problem I had was their prices and policies. What would have cost me $15 or $20 anywhere else was almost $40 here. To beat that, as the clerk brought me my food, she informed me that none of their dinner items come with rice, would I like some? When I said yes, she informed me that she would have to charge me for it. If you are vastly overcharging for your food ahead of time, wanting who knows what for a nickles worth of white rice sounds like a really good way to loose a customer for life to me.

My husband and I went over for dinner (5-5:30), we were taken back by the price of the food and the lack of food for the price. We ordered and waited for about 15 mins, the waitress brought us one dish at a time from the kitchen by the time we had all of our food 3/4 of the order was cold. When people come in and place and order 8 separate items they expect all items to be brought at the same time on a tray not the waitress carrying each item one at a time and its not like she came with a plate one right after another she killed a few mins. in between each dish delivery. The service was horrible, the food was at best ok (nothing to make a special trip for) the prices are too high for the quality over all and WILL NOT GO BACK!!! Coming from MA originally and growing up around the corner from Kowloon I know good food and value and this place was not it!!
