Great spot for electronic music on weekends. Open til 3am means the party lasts later. The crowd is less of the 21-25 crowd and more like late 20s to late 30s crowd. No kids acting fools. Mature adults grooving. Youll be hard pressed to find bad vibes here. Drink prices are pretty decent but youll find many people come for the always good music. Sundays they have a great drum and bass selection. They have a Facebook page and you can usually figure out what is going on any given night. The owner is pretty friendly and approachable. Youll often find him enjoying the music and conversing with people. Hes friends with most of us! Ive been dancing here for 6 years.

You dont accidentally go to the Upstairs Lounge. You dont just happen to walk by and go inside. That said, its everything a divey underground venue should be. Recent upgrades to the sound have made this one of the most enjoyable places to play, and dance in the area. Depending on the day of the week - you may hear everything from house and techno, to drum n bass, to funk, soul, and disco, old rock, indie rock, and everything in between. You can get a 2 dollar beer or a dirty martini (it will be served in a rocks glass), either way it will be affordable. Go early and have dinner downstairs at the MeKong.

I always look for a piece of this venue when I travel to other countries and am usually able to find it. Awesome atmosphere to kick it with friends, listen to various authentic EDM styles from the best local artists(top afterhours place) as well as hip-hop or eccentric themed nights. Has an at home feeling and great for getting down with your girls on the dancefloor

A very chill nightclub with an underground feel. The upstairs lounge features a full range of electronic and house Djs. Crowds vary from a full dance floor on most Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays to just a few locals sitting around the bar on weekdays. Bar service is top notch. Go to the upstairs for pbr and hip music.

Greg Greg and only Gregory the bartender. Hes easily the coolest bartender Ive met. Had the delicious commonwealth tonic and my husband just had a whisky coke. It was such a good cocktail and it was fascinating to watch Greg whip up cocktails in the most artistic way. Amazing vibe !! Must must visit

Theres no other place like the Upstairs in STL; its the only venue where you will hear proper underground electronic music. Fancy it is not, but come with an open mind and youll be fine.
