Let me start by saying first time there and was NOT impressed. Even though the group I was with arrived around 5pm, my husband and I didnt arrive until 6pm. We were able to go ahead and be seated right away due to this. The waitress finally comes to us about 5 min after we sat down and asks us what we want to drink. I ask for water with lemon and husband asks for water as well while we look over the menu. She comes back to our take 5 min later and remembers she forgot our drinks. Another 5 min pass she finally brings us the water. We then order. Husband orders steak tips and a butter beer. I order the nachos with chicken. The butter beer is bright to us 5 min later. Im sitting there conversing with our group and realize its been awhile since we put in our order. My friend says that it took awhile for then to get their food too. Waitress comes around about that time I guess she overheard us because she said that our food would be out soon. My husband orders another drink. Waitress comes back 10 min later said that they ran out if ginger beer so couldnt make what he wanted. Tries to order something else they are out of something else so couldnt get that either. He final was able to order a patron margarita. He gets it 10 min later. 20 min past Im thinking where its our waitress and where is our food. All in all it took well over an hour to get our food. Then as I begin eating I noticed that it was nachos with pulled pork not chicken. After 10 min waitress not to be found I start eating the nachos again. Cause by that time Im starving. My friend tells me I should say something about it. I turned to her and go why so they can take this plate away and then I have to wait another hour for then to bring the correct order? Im hungry so no thank you. She then proceeds to tell me she understands because not only did it take awhile for her food to get there but then half the order was forgotten. I thinking maybe if you dont go there during lunch or supper times you get better service. After reading some of the other reviews Im thinking maybe its that they cant handle the busier times.

Worst experience ever. We arrived at 5:30 to have dinner with some friends before a show. When we entered there was small two groups before us and they took my name and said it was a twenty minute wait and we could sit at the bar. This was fine with us since we had two hours to the show. We got to the bar and ordered a round of drinks the man bun bartender was not helpful in selecting any of the specialty brews on tap and seemed short with us. After a 40 minute wait and seeing other people being seated and 7-9 now empty table I asked the man that took our names when we would be seated. He said we would be next and grab some menus and seated us a couple minutes later. Our waitress came over about two minutes later and asked for our drink order we went ahead and order our food because now we are running late. She brought our drinks and that was that last she checked on us for close to 40 minutes. She came to the table and told us that it was really busy earlier and our food should be out shortly. Five more minutes later she stops and offer some chips since our food still was not ready. We have now been here for 1 1/2 hours and no food. We decided that we couldnt wait any longer that we are already going to be late for the show and we decided to leave. I asked the bartender form before for the manager because I wanted to pay for the soda and waters we got. Had to wait another 5-8 minutes to tell them about our experience and they we had to leave. Once she final showed up I told her about our hour and forty five minute wait and still no food and her response was "sorry we are busy" as I look around at all the now empty tables. I will continue to tell this experience to anyone I can. I have had better service at a Chicago Airport McDonalds.

Went to SBC this morning for breakfast. I ordered the chicken and waffles with eggs over medium. My waffles were terrible. They were the driest waffles EVER, completely inedible. My eggs were cooked wrong TWICE. Both times, they were raw. My friend ordered the fried egg sandwich. They somehow messed up her order as well. They put American cheese on it instead of cheddar. Her egg was also prepared wrong BOTH TIMES and did not come with mayonnaise like she had requested. My wife ordered the prime rib con huevos. Which was so so. However, it did not come with salsa like it was supposed to. The server was not that great either. He was not concerned at all about the horrible meal we were having. When I went in to talk to the manager and server about our meal. I felt completely blown off and got excuse after excuse. The server even told me that the breakfast menu was NEW!!! LIAR!!!! The breakfast menu was introduced in 2012!!! Its now 2015!!! The manager said that hes received multiple complaints about the dry waffles and thats just how they are. Apparently, theyre "working on a new recipe." The manager pretty much blew me off and gave me a card for a free dessert or appetizer which I gave away since I will NEVER come back!!!!!

As an out of state college student who has a lot of family in the Springfield area, I was disappointed that I had never heard of this place before. Went there, and enjoyed the football on tv (several tvs, for that matter). The homemade beer is... decent. Ive had much worse, but its not world class. Id try it again, as its always fun to try local beers, but I ended up ordering a bud light. However, the root beer is excellent! Ive had better at Diamond Bear in Arkansas and Goose Island in Chicago, but this is really close. Food- its hard to be great at everything, and it seems they have everything. My party ordered a variety of things, including a cajun dish (which was very spicy, almost too much so), a pizza (which is actually pretty good.) Burgers, etc. None were bad, but not excellent. I was happy, however. The atmosphere is the best part of it. When I was there we had live Jazz that deserved to be at a bigger venue than this. Upstairs theres smoking, pool tables, chairs to lounge in. If I went to college or lived in Springfield, it would be my second home. As stated before, I was so used to the "old people" feel of the town that the younger part came as a welcome surprise. Ill definitely be back.

I have eaten at Springfield Brewing Company many times over the last few years and I am always impressed with the quality of their food. Additionally, their beer selection is amazing! This is a company who definitely puts quality first and it definitely shows. We recently had a company party in the upper level and couldnt be happier with our experience. The food was excellent as always, but what really stands out is their willingness to work with us. We are a small business with not too many employees, so finding a suitable location for a gathering that wouldnt cost too much was a bit challenging. It seemed like the "minimum food charge" most other places required was far higher than what we could afford. Springfield Brewing Company, on the other hand was able to give us access to an awesome space with excellent service for a price that was in our relatively small budget. If you are looking for a place for a party for business or pleasure, or just simply want a great eating experience downtown Springfield, I highly recommend Springfield Brewing Company!
