Science City is a family friendly place where your kids can both learn and have fun, no matter what age they are. Even as adults you will find plenty of interactive activities to engage in with your children. Buying a membership is well worth it. You will receive many perks outside of free admission such as $5 movie tickets to the noon show at the extreme screen theater at Union Station. This includes a free bag of popcorn with free refills and free drink refills as well. As a family we just used one bag of popcorn and refills, and everyone brought drinks to refill as well. We saw the Jungle Book as a family with our membership during our visit. You also receive free tix for the planetarium shows, entrance to the planetarium, and so much more. You can literally make an all day visit to Science City and still manage not to see and do everything the center has to offer in combination with the free things to do and see at Union Station.

Parking is in abundance. it like all places, you have to pay. Not too expensive. Have to drive back behind where the delivery trucks go, there is an entrance to the parking garage. Will have to walk a lil but its there, i promise. Have to LOOK for the sign. If you dont want to pay, go all the way to city market, park there and take the streetcar right to union station. It is a bit of a down to have to pay in the place kids will wanna spend too much time and want everything b4 the fun has even begun, but eh, its what it is and how they had to do it...dont complain. On the way back out there is an exit to use, so no worries on walking thru the gift shop again on the way out. Its an amazing place once you fully step inside. Fyi..on mondays, I think, the animals are not avail at one of the stops. Also, for the sky bike ride, have to be a certain height to be able to get on. I would be up for going back again for sure and spend more time.

This city has science! And its much bigger on the inside than it looks like on the outside (hmmm, sounds familiar). There is more here to do than you expect so make sure you set aside enough time to see it all. We didnt and we will have to go back -- not that thats a bad thing. Entrance price was reasonable, and there were activities for kids of all ages. Both a 2 year old and an 8 year old were entertained at the same place so thats saying something. It was a little crowded at a few stations, so if you can schedule it during a week day itd probably be better than the Saturday we were there. But hey...if you dont like people, dont come to Kansas City. Or any city...but I digress. I would even argue fairly strongly that it is better than the excellent science center in that red colored arch covered city that we do not name over on the other side of the state. Check out Science City--its edutainment at its best.

We received a new family pass as a Christmas gift so took a trip to Science City when the kids were off school to check it out as we hadnt been there in awhile. We were blown away by the changes that were made. The new entrance with exhibits and activities before entering the main area were a nice touch to set the stage. My 9 year old was finally able to ride the Sky Bike and all three of our kids (ages 9, 7, and 5) were able to make a cardboard robot in the Makers Space. We stayed for about 2 hours but could have stayed a lot longer to explore more. We enjoyed our time and look forward to coming back!

A long-time great place for family fun and learning new and interesting things. My kids still enjoy going there even though we go a few times a year. They change exhibits occasionally, but its mostly the same familiar things. However, that doesnt keep us from having fun every time. Union Station is a really neat place and we all like walking over to Crown Center to explore. The Union Station membership has a ton of reciprocals around the Midwest, so it can be a great value for family vacations. Weve got into at least 8 different places (Omaha, Des Moines, Colorado) for free with the membership!

We visited with our kids and their grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousins. Everyone had a fantastic time, even the adults. Some adults acted like kids again participating in many of the activities. We have been to science museums in other cities, but this one just seemed so much better with so many fun things for the kids to do. Well worth the money for a few fun hours with the kids on a Saturday morning while visiting a new city during a family wedding weekend. Highly recommend for families. Our children ranged in age from 8 - 12.

I took my third grade students here on a field trip and WOW pretty much sums up our experience! Right from the beginning I was impressed. The tour guides explained to the kids the expectations and then took us to the entrance of Science City. As soon as you enter, the hands-on interactive learning began. The students loved it! They were learning and didnt even know it because they were having so much fun. As an adult, I liked it so much too-it made me feel like a kid again. Excellent, clean environment with so much to do! Well be back.

Best place to go in KC for kids. It will not cost you as NEARLY as much as the San Francisco Exploratory. Best deal is to get the annual pass of Union Station. They have something to do for all ages: from train operations to water engineering and dinosaurs artifacts. Lots of hands on exhibits to keep your little ones busy and excited. No food or drinks available in Science City but there are few places in Union Station itself. Members get 10% off and other stuff is free access. Its worth the drive.

If you have young children it is well worth it to get a membership. We get a membership for here as well as the zoo. When the weather is bad we take the kids to Science City. During good weather we go to the zoo and Diana Rose. A good outing with the kids is to go to the Crown Center then take the overhead walkway to Union Station. We go to the model trains then go to Science City. Sometimes we take the streetcar to the very nice KC main library. Makes for a big day for toddlers.

A little on the pricey side for a family of four, but our kids love it and it really is educational on many levels. All facets of science, history, electronics, mechanical science. There is something for everyone and plenty of hands-on interaction for kids ages 3 to 10. Parking isnt always easy but plenty of park and walk options. The new street car services this stop also. Easy way to spend two hours on a weekend and do something educational with the fam!

Science City is a GREAT time for kids... and I play on half of the stuff myself! The season pass is a must... After just two visits it pays for itself. Science City is just about the perfect size; every time we go there, they have more than we can do in a day. The kids do everything they can handle in one day and then leave remembering that there were at least a few more things they wanted to do. Tons of interactive things, not just stuff to look at.
