Wineries are our "thing" and we really enjoy eating at Canterbury Hill, when we are in the area. It is a lovely location, both inside and out. Ambiance is important to me, so I really appreciate the "feel" of the place. Our bartender was point on, when choosing a wine for us, though the real treat, was the pineapple infused vodka on the rocks - very refreshing. Being a gluten-free foodie, it is occasionally hard to find foods I can eat. As usual, they were able to accommodate my allergies with a salad. It was good, but not great - thus the 4 stars. I do wish they would come up with more options for those of us with gluten and other food sensitivities. It would be an easy fix in their food preparation. (I know be cause I do it all the time!) I noticed that they continue to work on the landscaping outside, so changes are coming. Looking forward to our next visit; maybe they will have more GF options available by then.

Food was good. Wine was okay, its Missouri wine, so expectations were modest. What was really disappointing was the service. We had to ask to have salad plates and wine bottles and glasses cleared. Our server disappeared for 30 minutes after we ordered drinks. Then she asked how we wanted the bill, all together or split, before we even got our food. And they werent very busy that night.

Second time visiting this place. Same experience both times. I was seated and I believe they forgot I was there. Not very busy each time. After 20 mins someone finally brought me water and asked if I would like to order a drink. It feels good to sit outside and listen to the music with a breeze but the service and food were below par both visits. Other places to eat within a short drive.

Quit UR Snooping

Unsure of how this place keeps people coming back. I know of 12 who will NOT return. Awful food, didnt want to bring it home. Service was below mediocre. The positive posts must be their own people posting, because this place will go belly up from our experience. Hope they spend our $480 on some training and cooks.

On a cool summer day and a bottle of smooth dry Excalibur wine overlooking the Missouri river valley from Caterbury hill is a most pleasant way to spend and afternoon. Great food, service and wine.

went to mystery dinner. Steak dry and tough, only had bread knife to cut food with, guess how that turned out? $42.00 wasted. Mystery was good. Would I go again. NO!!!!!

Absolutely wonderful! Food was great. Service was great! Waiter was great! Will drive 2 hrs to go again. Wine was also great, but if you dont drink go for the food and view!
