This place sucks. For some reason we had to print our tickets out beforehand because they werent connected to any resellers. I dont understand how you can buy tickets but not have them be in their system. Anyone that bought tickets through StubHub or Vivid Seats or whatever had to walk down to the FedEx three blocks away to print out their tickets and then run back. Total BS. Then, we get in there and they charge $4 for a coke and $12 for a long island. Again, BS. Then! We get in to the theater, ground level, and we are stuffed in like sardines; no leg room, no shoulder room. They dont have the facilities to accommodate a full house. Crazy lines for the restroom (1 each?!?) And crazy lines for drinks and snacks. Everything snakes together and its a wonder no one got in a fight. We were there for Chris Rock and, you know, he was fun... but I walked away pissed off and said to my wife that I never want to see a show there ever again. So, thats it. Screw this place. Not going back.

Went to Tedeschi Trucks concert 11-11. Paid plenty for seats. When the TTB music started many, in various stages of drunkeness, thought it was time to stand and attempt to dance in place. Seemed like false advertising. I bought 2 seats to see a show when all we really got to see from those seats was a bunch of ugly butts. Should be marketed as standing room only "seats". Ive been to other venues to see big name acts where people had respect / common sense to sit in their seat so others could enjoy the show from their seat. Disappointed in the Orpheum staff for not keeping order. I stood for part of the time to try to see the show because I was able. I observed many folks that never saw 1 second of the show. Not everyone can stand for an hour plus. Apparently, those with physical limitations dont matter because they had no chance at all. This seems odd for Minneapolis, the beacon for social justice. The bands where five star; the building is beautiful; the experience earned a 1.

We saw Wicked here, and it is an absolutely gorgeous theater. However, the seats are lined up directly behind one another instead of staggered as in other theaters and there is not enough rise on the floor, so it was very, very difficult to see. I had to keep leaning my head way to one side and then the other to look around the head of the person in front of me. I never once had a good view of the entire stage, and our tickets were right in the center of the theater, so should have been good seats (row U, seats 3 and 4). I was pretty disappointed for the price we paid for our tickets. There is no leg room at all and the seats are tightly packed. Also, do not drink anything before going to the show because it is impossible to get through the restroom line at intermission. I gave up and went back to my seat when they called 5 minutes and there were still 30-40 people in front of me. I understand that it is a historic theater, but I do think the seats at least could be updated.

I recently went to a comedy show at the Orpheum to see the Impractical Jokers tour. We ended up with seats in the upper balcony. The prices were the same no matter where you sat, so we paid $65 per seat. The view wasnt too bad, unfortunately, the sound was terrible! The comedians voices were so muffled, we couldnt make out half of what they said. It was incredibly hard to follow what was going on. When we complained, we were refused a refund or vouchers to another show. Instead we were offered to be put on an on-call list for shows that they arent able to fill all the seats for. Being a parent of young kids, I dont get out much and when I do, theres a lot of advanced planning involved. It was a big disappointment to have to pay so much for a great show only to not be able to hear it because of the facilities technical difficulties. The Orpheum needs to be more accountable! I would never pay to go to a show there again.

Purchased a ticket on Stubhub. They refused to try to scan the ticket on my phone. They told me to get a ticket printed at the box office. I went back to the box office and they said they cannot do anything because I didnt purchase it through them. I asked again about scanning my phone and they said it was the wrong kind of barcode. They told me I had to go get it printed at Fedex which is 1/3 of a mile away. They said this happens all the time and even have directions printed. I ran over there and got it printed and they scanned the very same barcode that I had on my phone and it worked fine. Maybe their scanners have trouble with phones but clearly they know this inconveniences some of their customers greatly and they just dont care. Kudos to the nice man who let me budge in line and then paid for my printout so I didnt miss the beginning of the show though.

The most uncomfortable seats in Minneapolis Theatre. Actually painful. Im 6 2" so not all that tall and weigh 202lbs. Not fat. The orpheums seats are ridiculous. From side to side you are packed in like sardines and then the my knees were literally rubbing on the seat in front of me the entire time. Were talking pain!. Loved the play but I had to leave 10 min after intermission because I just couldnt take it. If you are under 6 ft and reasonably thin, go for it, you might actually be able to last thru the play. If not, save yourself from some self inflicted torture and go pretty much anywhere else in the twin cities to attend. Seriously, awful!!!!! Never, ever going back.

Our family spent $500 and drove two hours to see the show Shen Yun. It was nothing but a scam. It is advertised and promoted as a show of 5000-year Chinese Cultures and the dances etc. There was nothing that I would consider truly cultural and authentic. It is actually a propaganda cooked up by a bunch of cult followers of a religion which has been politicized. The organization of Shen Yun intentionally misleads the public. I felt like I was paying someone big money to be raped. The Orpheum seemingly or unknowingly has offered the opportunity and the venue for such a scam to happen.

They dont have the technology to scan tickets off of phones, unlike the majority of the places Ive been in the Twin Cities where they can without a dont, and cannot look up and print tickets that have been sold on anything other than Ticketmaster. Know this before going, since theyll suggest that you walk to the IDS Center to get the tickets printed otherwise. Ended up not being able to go to the show since I would have missed the first thirty minutes and bothered everyone seated by me to get to my seat. Truly frustrating. Get with the times.

The theater is beautiful, the leg room is rough though. My tall friend was uncomfortable and even though Im short my knees started to ache by the end of the performance. The theater is downtown, theres a parking garage right across the street thats usually pretty reasonable. They have concessions and drinks available before and at intermission, but theyre not cheap. Some of the views from the seats can be obstructed, I recommend you go on the website seating chart, they have pictures with the view you can expect from each seat.
