Bryant Lake Bowl is a true gem. I discovered this place a few years ago and have consistently returned time and time again. First, dont let the "bowling alley" aspect of the place influence your perceptions of the food. Most bowling alleys consist of cheap beer and even cheaper burgers/fried foods. Bryant Lake Bowl on the contrary has delicious food that transcends typical bowling-alley cuisine. For instance, I highly recommend their Tofu Pad Thai and "Bad Breath Burger." While their food is certainly more expensive than most bowling alleys, it is affordable and I never have felt I paid more than what I was getting. Second, Bryant Lake Bowl has probably one of the best restaurant vibes in Minneapolis. It is casual yet intimate. The perfect place for a first date or right after a break-up. Ive celebrated everything from birthdays, to friends breakups and coming-outs. The great vibe stems from the smaller tables allowing groups of people to sit closer together while also being in a bustling restaurant. Also the wait staff isnt awkward and treats you like a human - they dont kiss your ass and they know how to joke around while delivering great service. Finally, Bryant Lake Bowl is one of Kim Bartmanns true masterpieces. Ive dined at most of her restaurants and am continually amazed at the well-developed concepts that go into each one. This one for sure is a must visit for any tourist, foodie, or someone in need of celebrating.

Tried this place for breakfast. Id heard good things about it, and being a DDD restaurant made it one I knew I had to go to eventually. The breakfast selection is just about the perfect size: enough choices to find something you will like, but not so many you get overwhelmed. Portions are relatively large, but not humongous. Both my wifes breakfast and mine were outstanding, although I think hers was maybe a little better than mine. The coffee was very good (strong the way we like it), and they have a few different bloody marys on the menu. I had the BLB bloody, and its a very good traditional bloody. Ill also say that its rare to see a place where the staff so obviously enjoys their jobs. Refreshing. I plan to go back again to try them for dinner, and possibly bowling or the theater which is attached.

The BLB has been a staple of the Uptown area for years. Its a great place to meet friends for a couple beers and even some bowling (after a couple brews you usually play better right?). They carry a number of great beers on tap and have a decent happy hour. Food isnt amazing but itll help keep those beers coming. Bowling is a great touch. Always nice to play at a place where the "pros" arent going to laugh at you for bowling less then a 100 (but your friends sure might). It would be nice to have some onsite parking but finding a spot close by is usually pretty easy. Music selection is along with that of the general Uptown area. New age and hip. All in all the BLB is a great place to drink and have a great time!

I am a person that will generally sit at the bar to eat. I must say the food is unique and very fresh. But the male bartenders are the worst, if you arent a female "10", you are out of luck. These 2 guys behind the bar on a sunday night literally ignore everyone else. The bar was not busy and I sat down, money out and waited 15 min to get acknowleged. Yes they did see me, but they had better things to do then help a new customer which included doing all the dishes, then emptying the dishes, helping a pretty gal who was there WAY after me and chatting between eachother. Worst service ever.

I reaaaallly wish I could give this place five stars.... It was just a little expensive for me :/ My bf and I bowled two games and each got a burger that came with potatoes (didnt order drinks either) and it was $60. I would 1000% go back on a Monday because they have "cheap date night": two rounds, two entrees, and drinks for $28. OUR FOOD WAS AMAZING. definitely the best mashed potatoes wed ever had in our life and the burgers were AMAZING. The self-serve bowling experience and old school look of the alley was super cool!!!! And the waitress/hostess was really cool :)

Amazing brunch spot! Everything that Ive ordered here is always amazing. I so miss their spinach and artichoke dip, please bring it back :( All the servers are very friendly, and knowledgeable. BEST BLOODY MARY Ive had! I actually used to hate them until I tried one from here, and now I cant get over how no where else seems to compare. The only complaint I think I could ever have is that there is always a long wait on the weekends, but you cant blame them its a high demand brunch location, and you can always watch people play old school bowling while you wait!

Great atmosphere, good taps, usually good food. The dining area and bar are pretty standard, but what makes BLB special is its old-fashioned bowling alley (no gutter bumpers or electronic scoring keeping here!) and its theater spaces. Id give it 5 stars, but Ive had the occasional subpar dish (last time my "loaded"guac was really just a plate of nacho chips with a small dollop of guac and other sparse toppings; mostly plain chips) and sometimes Ive had bad service. Not the norm, though. Mostly, this place is a quality establishment.

We went for the Cheap Date Special on a Monday night. Nothing fancy but so fun! You should probably know what youre getting yourself into; you only get one option for the entree (including a vegetarian option) and I think it changes regularly. Ours was a pork (or mock duck) po-boy and a side of potato salad. The special includes a whole bottle of wine - obviously not the best wine ever but it gets the job done - and a round of score-it-yourself bowling for you and your date. There is a beer option if youre not a wine drinker.

We went in because we were given a Pub Pass for Christmas. The ladies at the host table were nice and we considered staying for dinner. Once we sat, our waitress was rude and crass. Pub Pass is a publicity thing to get people in to eat good and order more beer. I will not be returning ever. The level of attitude we were given by the waitress was ridiculous and unnecessary. Other reviews about arrive arent exaggerating. I was very disappointed, especially since my brother in law spoke so highly of the establishment.

With a bowling alley, a small theater, and a full bar and restaurant, Bryant-Lake is a huge attraction to the LynLake area of Uptown. The establishment frequently tops charts for best places to bring a date, and for good reasons; not least of which is the Monday night Date Night special, featuring two prix fixe entrees, a bottle of wine or four tap beers, and a round of bowling for two for about $30. Bryant-Lake is also a great place to grab a bloody for Sunday brunch.

DONT EVEN BOTHER. Rudest staff Ive ever encountered. My Finance went in to grab a beer, put his head down and rubbed his eyes whist putting his change in his wallet because he was TIRED and the server snatched the beer out of his hand, spilled it, yelled "Theres no sleeping in the f***ing bar, bro." And refused to serve us ALTOGETHER. After asking what the problem was we were told theres no "nodding off" in the bar. Unbelieveble. First and last time ever going here.
