This has been my first year playing at Pioneer Creek. In my opinion, this course is one of the best values for the money around. The rates are very reasonable, the course is beautiful, the greens are very well maintained, and each hole is unique...no two holes even remotely resemble any other on the course, which makes for an entertaining round of golf in my opinion. There is enough trouble, particularly water and OB, to make the course very interesting and challenging without making it too difficult even for someone of my limited abilities ( 18 hcp ). Its unfortunate that Bill below had a negative experience here as my encounters with the staff and management have been nothing but positive. Everyone has been friendly, helpful, and polite. Have I ever heard, "please pick it up a bit." when I didnt think it was warranted?....yes, but with the nation-wide focus on slow play this year and the fact that a marshal only sees a quick snapshot of your round as he/she passes through, it is understandable that periodic suggestions may not always be appropriate ( i.e. if we were searching for two lost balls on the previous hole....remember 18 hcp, it happens..., that IS going to slow us down severely on that hole, but pace quickly picks up again ). It shouldnt surprise anyone if they are reminded to pick up the pace after a rough hole. I dont think the marshals or course management should be judged too harshly as they are only trying to prevent chronic slow play, which is something we all want.....that is until we are the ones being prompted ;). All-in-all, I really enjoy this course and am surprised it is not more well known. For those who do not live on the extreme west side of the cities, it is well worth the drive to golf this course for the first time. Dont take my word for it, take a look for yourself. Id be surprised if you were disappointed.

Played this course for many years. Its a cut above ones in the area, but does not offer many price specials or decent twilight deals and often has the attitude that it is a top quality course. The people at the course/clubhouse are a bit grizzly and are not very friendly as noted, but Ive never had issues on the course with Rangers like others. Good track, bit open and links-like, but decent layout for most part. Worst hole out there is #9 where even with a good drive you are forced to lay up to the dogleg with a short iron. or a 200+ to carry the crap. Nowhere to land in between. Just a poor design of a hole. #18 is similar (like many courses finishing holes that mirror each other), but gives you better options. Always fairly busy and crowded which makes for slow play too....and then Rangers getting on you :-)

Like Bill commented, the course is decent, but the Ranger was a complete jerk. We also finished in just over 4 hours and the Ranger told us at least 4 times to speed up play yet the group behind us never had to wait. Then on 18 he had the audacity to command us to pick up our balls from the fairway and go to the green which I didnt do because I dont appreciate being commanded like a child. Then this was on top of the Ranger screwing up where he put the event flags out for our group event and didnt even apologize. Someone needs to remind the Ranger hes a stupid golf course Ranger at a podunk little course in the middle of no where. Youd have thought we were playing Pebble Beach. Ill gladly take my greens fees elsewhere.

The course was fairly nice, but I would never golf there again. The Manager of the course was rude, obnoxious and not a nice person. We were yelled at on 3 separate occasions to speed up play (once while I was trying to putt). We finished our round in 4 hours and 10 minutes and not once did we hold anyone up. I have golfed hundreds of courses, I am about a 15 handicap, and never have I been treated like that on any course.

The west metro has a dearth of public courses, especially with Meadowbrook out of the mix. If you are willing to come a bit further, dont mind a course still reaching for its stride, and with great friendly people, give Pioneer Creek a try. There is plenty of challenge in this course and also beautiful scenery, lending to an enjoyable experience.

My sister and I took beginner golf lessons from Tom Peterson this summer. We had a fantastic experience, and thought he was an exceptional instructor! We learned a lot and had a ton of fun at a beautiful and well-run facility. We look forward to continuing our golf journey at Pioneer Creek.

this is a nice golf course as far as the difficulty level and the greens being okay. However, both times that we were there, our cart died and the mosquitoes were absolutely eating us alive. At $35 a person for twilight, this will be my last time at this course.

Very beautiful layout for a course. Amazing green complexes; giant greens. If you have your putting dialed in you can go low there! Nice clubhouse with friendly staff.

Greens are rolling really nice but high price for quality of course and the rangers in the past have harassed us. Disclaimer: I am a golf course snob.
