A couple of friends and I went to Elm Creek Park Reserve to have some fun in the sun. However, they charged you for just about everything. My friends and I were annoyed when we discovered they charged for the small and cramped swimming area. We were going to play disc golf, but found out they charged for that as well! We left after that since we knew that there are several other (nice) parks that dont charge for swimming and disc golf. We didnt check anything else out there because we figured they were over-charging for everything else, as well. In Elm Creeks defense, we did not check out any of the trails, which could be very nice as the other reviews say. But if you are going to Elm Creek for anything else besides the trails, prepare to pay through the teeth!

i love the lay out of the swimming area, the large umbrellas add a nice touch and provides much needed shade on super hot days, although the day we went, umbrellas were all taken! Bring your own to be safe if you absolutely need shade. You an bring small floats and you can use in designated area. Great selection for snacks and drinks. Getting the season pass is a good deal. $18/season as opposed to $5/day... if you plan on going more than 4 times in one summer. Only 2 things I observed that were negatives was a smoker strolling on the beach area when there is no smoking allowed and the rinse off area only had 2 shower heads working and the spray was a fine mist which did not wash off the sand that well. Otherwise, I will definitely go again......

I have been visiting Elm Creek Park Reserve since the park was in its infancy which was 1978. Since that time, I have been to Elm Creek more than 2000x easily. I lived a block away from one of the park entrances for over 24 years also and still have family living near the park. I do not hesitate to take EVERY opportunity I can to go out to this large, expansive and gorgeous park. Elm Creek is a way to get away from the big city and go back into nature. Ive camp, picnicked, Pokemon Goed, hiked, ran, swam, sledded, skied and done pretty much everything one can do in a park because Elm Creek provides all of those opportunities and more. Best regional/county park in Minnesota and any other state for that matter! Hands down!

Dog park: Free poop bags at the entrance (although have to pay $5 for parking or a yearly pass for $35). Nice wooded trail, basically a very large loop. Not too many off shoots to veer off from others, your mostly stuck on the main path. But for those who love to walk vs hanging out in a large open area, this park is only 2nd to Battle Creek. A few people hung out at the main entrance, but the only other open area was at the pond. The pond was gated off for those who dont want their dogs to go swimming. The dog section is at the corner of Elm Creek Rd and Hayden Lk Rd, you cant access it from the main entrance on James Deane Pkwy.

Fantastic Park offering activities to do any season! Lots of fun to be had in a safe environment. Staff very helpful & dedicated year round! Very fun childrens play area, clean & relaxing swim pond, challenging disk golf, beautiful visitor center that can be rented for events, dog park offering fun for your four legged friends & a nature center full of learning activities. Did I mention the miles & miles of paved trails to walk, run or bike on? Or the turf horse trails or mountain bike trails? Winter rec area offers xskiing with lit trails, snow boarding on the terrain park and a clean & warm beautiful chalet! Superb!!

Working for Mintahoe Catering & Events, I love it when a couple chooses a Three Rivers Park District site for their wedding celebration! The Elm Creek Chalet has a great patio for outdoor ceremonies, and the soaring ceilings and great fireplace make this the perfect venue for a traditional "Minnesota" wedding. Youll feel like your up north, without leaving the Cities : ). Three Rivers venues are always very clean, set exactly to the agreed upon floor plan, and professionally managed. I appreciate being able to cater to such a spectacular venue! Julie T

BE VERY CAREFUL TO WATCH ALL YOUR PERSONAL ITEMS-Items are stolen right out from under you-Staff do NOT care that this is happening-NOT AT ALL HELPFUL IN RESOLVING THE ISSUE-Multiple items stolen during a school field trip and when calls placed to report this-staff were not helpful, not willing to tell anyone higher up in management, not willing to connect you with a manager-not sure if one is there????? Would not recommend as this will at some point lead to more issues at this place.

Absolutely the best place my family has found within an hours drive of where we live. We have only utilized the park and swimming area. The park is extremely kid friendly for all ages. Amazing area for BBQing, The pool is like a giant kidde pool that looks like a lake with clean water and about 4 life guards on duty at all times. The bathrooms need some TLC but people using them also need to not be slobs. This park has alot more to offer but we just havent taken advantage of it.

I thought the new playground was amazing!! There wasnt a lot for my daughter (18 months) but it will be a great place to take her as she gets older (great place for 4yrs+). I do wish they would have put "normal" swings in though. I liked the fact there there are a lot of picnic tables and sand volleyball courts between the park and the beach - plenty of shady trees too. The cost for swimming is $3/person each time OR $5/person for a season pass - VERY reasonable!

It was a hot Saturday and we went to the swimming pond. The $5 fee per person was a little steep considering we were there for two hours. The concession was basic but reasonably priced. There were several gigantic umbrellas installed for shade which was great since there was no other shade options. Every hour there is a safety break...which was hard for the kids but they occupied themselves with the sand castle building.

Gorgeous park. Great for biking on paved trails or looking for single track. Get an out in the country experience without really leaving the cities. If biking be prepared has larger hills than most other paths in the area. Hiking is great as well. The dog park is very well maintained, has a small dog area and the pond is gated. Nature center is fantastic, redone recently. Has frolf and great playground as well for kids.

I was harassed by your park ranger. Came in on a peaceful day to just come see my family with my motorcycle. And one of your park rangers tailgated me and harassed me all the way til I got out. He also made some racist comments about me and telling me that my bike isnt welcome at your park. WOW! I wasnt even speeding or anything. Racist ass park. If bikes arent allowed to just come there. You should post a sign.

I will always love this park reserve but wish they made it a little cheaper to swim. I was not impressed with the cleanliness of the swim pond area or picnic and park area. Granted it was the weekend so its a lot busier but there was garbage everywhere. We seen many used diapers thrown in the parking lot, food waste and wrappers everywhere, and even the beach had garbage throughout the sandy area.
