Been coming here for 12 years. I would give customer service a 1 star. Checking in NOT happy that they put our son and his girlfriend in our room. We made two reservations for us and one for our son and his girl friend. Our son goes to college and so does his girlfriend and they were coming up to get away and destress and have fun at a Timerwolves game. When we checked in the lady asked us a name that has not checked in. Now both rooms were booked under one credit card. Our son gave his ID but how the hell are do you not pay attention to the name on a reservation paper that was printed off and handed to the front desk that was our sons reso. The lady who checked us in i wish i had her name aweome service. She fixed the problem and changed the name..... Pretty upset that their staff did not catch how there were two broken lamps and the mirror torn out of the wall. We have not even set our stuff down and we noticed this right away when we walked in and I took pictures. Called the front desk right away because there was NO way in heck I was going to get charged for broken items in the room that we didnt even do. Called the front desk. Went down to the front desk they put us in a different room. I showed the lady the pictures. She did send someone up right away. We went from items being broken in a room to a handicap room. Went and asked to talk to manager and was told to talk to the manger in the morning. Now to top it off. We took our kids swimming swam for 30 min and than a staff came in an amd kicked our kids out. As i am watching eight 16-17 years old walk in and head to the hot tub and lie about their age. Our 8 yr old was upset because after we went up to the room and got dressed and headed down to the arcade there was at least 10 kids under the age 18 like 8yrs to 17 yr old swimming after 10pm. That was suppose to be adult time. That upset us. Our room was next to a fitness center. Nice how it is opem 24 hrs. Really! Did not get any sleep people were working out through the whole night. That fitness center should of had a time like 11pm for closing and 8 am for opening. We did talk to the manager NOT impressed with his attitude and tone. The 4 star is becaue their breakfast is amazing and their other staff were so kind. It only takes a small handful of staff to do terriable customer service.

We are still stuck at this hotel while I post this review. I would recommend no one to stay at this hotel. We arrived yesterday as part of a large group - our nephew and his teammates are in Minneapolis for a tournament. When we attempted to check into the hotel, the front desk person first placed us in the wrong room. We booked a room with 2 beds, when we got into our room there was only a king size bed. Went back to the desk and they checked us into another room with two beds. This seemed ok, except when our inlaws (who arrived shortly after us at the hotel) were checking in - we were supposed to be in adjoining rooms, but they placed us on separate floors. So, back down to the desk again. Then, when we finally settled into our room we realized that the room was not clean. The toilets were dirty, the light switches were filthy, and the mattress in our room had a big blood-like stain on it. The Wi-Fi does not work well in the room - the only real place it works is in the lobby/lounge area. It gets worse. We went out today to do some shopping. We return around 5 pm to find our keys do not work. Down to the desk again....turns out, the hotel booked us out of our room despite the fact that our reservation was for three nights. After talking with the front desk agent, who acknowledged that our reservation was messed up by the hotel, we returned to our room to find the cleaning staff had not cleaned our room - the beds were not made, garbage was placed back on the counter, our shampoo and conditioner were taken. The hotel has poor wifi, rooms are not cleaned properly, reservation system is flawed, and the hotel is an old hotel with a new coat of paint. Go somewhere else when staying in Minneapolis.

I make several trips to Minneapolis a year and typically always stay at the same place, Hilton Bloomington. This time I decided to try the Embassy Suites for a change of pace. I stayed here for 2 nights this past weekend and it was one of the worst hotel stays Ive had in years. 1. I asked for a Diamond member room upgrade and top floor. The hotel upgraded my room, but put me on the first floor right by the front desk and bar area. The bed in the room was terrible which is one of the reasons that Im Hilton loyal. I always enjoy the good beds that most of their hotels have. This bed was very springy and the pillows provided no support. 2. The people staying in the room above us were up late and making a lot of noise the first night. I finally called the front desk at 1am, but that did nothing to stop the noise. I dont even know if they notified the room or not. 3. I asked the front desk the following day if the people above us checked out because if not, I was moving to a different hotel. They confirmed they did check-out and that someone else was staying in that room. Unfortunately, the sound proofing is so poor, I could understand the conversation the people above us were having. 4. When I checked out of the hotel, I explained the issues to the young lady at the front desk. She said she would let the manager know and that "maybe we need to buy some things." I agree that some updates are needed, but I think some sort of reimbursement should have been offered/made for the troubles. I always enjoy traveling, but this was one time where I couldnt wait to get back home. Will DEFINITELY not be staying at this location again on my next trip.

While we were there, they were renovating the main floor atrium where the bar and breakfast service are usually offered. I mention this because its factor in the experience of our stay that impacted how the amenities (breakfast and bar service) would be offered. Having to carry on with normal service under those conditions must have made it more challenging for the staff. They soldiered on with good cheer, doing their best, using tools better suited to catering than to a large service. In spite of all that, the breakfast service was awesome. The coffee was especially good. So many times restaurant and hotel coffee tastes like crayon water. Its one of those things that bugs me. This is possibly the first time Ive stayed at a chain hotel that had coffee that actually tasted like coffee should. The omelets werent bad either. The rooms were clean and included all the basic amenities. The temperature controls in the room allowed us to keep it comfortable. This might seem like a given, but often I find hotel rooms stuffy. Anything we needed was promptly supplied by housekeeping. The pool area was nice, though a bit small. The elevators were insufficient for the traffic. We had to wait twenty minutes for a luggage cart to become available. Our biggest complaint is this: the other guests were numerous, loud, and rude. Kids ran up and down the halls like wild animals. We saw several instances of the guests treating the staff with impatience and disrespect.
