ZIM TOWN

We held a New Years Eve wedding here in the Olympian room on 12/31/15, and this place is top notch. I was the groom in the wedding. We were a bit concerned early on because they had a pretty laid back and hands off approach (whereas we wanted them to hold our hand through the whole process to make sure everything was perfect), but there was no reason to be concerned. They had it all figured out, and they operate in a simple and low anxiety sort of way. They were flexible enough to allow us in the day before our wedding to set up, and there was staff on hand throughout that process to help us make any rearrangements or changes that we requested. Dan and Leslie are both great at what they do, and were both very helpful. During the event, everything ran smoothly. We used Midwest Sound as our DJ (which is on the Banquets of Minnesota vendors page), and that was a great choice, also. They clearly work with this facility often, and our DJ coordinated with the event staff at the banquet hall to make sure the entire night flowed smoothly, just how we wanted. We also got an ice carving from the vendor listed on their website, and his work is amazing. I would highly recommend spending the extra couple hundred bucks to add the "wow factor" of a unique and beautiful ice sculpture. Outside of my groom perspective, I can also say that the guest experience is fantastic. Both ballrooms are beautiful, and they offer all sorts of add ons which allow you to make your reception as plain or as elaborate as you wish. Beyond this, the food was exceptional (the stuffed chicken was an absolute crowd pleaser). The service staff was on point, the bartenders are quick, drinks are cheap, the sound system is good, the space is large, the facility and bathrooms are clean, their bride and groom preparation areas are a cool feature, and the price for all of this is very competitive. I simply do not have anything negative to say about the facility, the staff, or our experience. They exceeded our expectations, and I would highly recommend you look into Banquets of Minnesota for your special day.

We just left our event that was held in The Opulence room in Blaine. What an amazing experience. The staff, the venue, the price......all truly amazing. We worked with Leslie, Gloria and Dan. All were incredible. They clearly have the customers best interest at heart when working with you. They pay attention to every detail to ensure your event proceeds perfectly. Thank you to everyone who made our reunion a success. You all are the best in the business. (Food was amazing and SERVICE was a class act!)

I just had my wedding at the fridley location and it was amazing!!! The service and staff were awesome and so nice. They helped us rehearse which was nice and comforting. Dan helped me set up and kept added more great things to make the decorations look amazing! The food was phonomonal!! My guests kept telling me they loved the food. The dressing rooms were nice. Im so happy I chose this place. I would definitely recommend this beautiful place to my friends/family.

We had a wedding there on a Saturaday, just a week ago. The staff were amazing and sweet people! They always ask question if we need anything. Always smiling! Space is great for a 400 people event. I do recommend this place! Lovely place for special events. Food was great as well. The best part, the party ended 12 am, they help cleaned our table clothes and set ups, we got out faster than expected , less than an hour. Very thankful for their staff.

Edit: after reading this review the head of the catering contacted me, was genuinely concerned and was willing to do what she could to make it right. Good looking venue with nice getting ready rooms. Very small dance floor. Would have scored much higher but the catering staff were incredibly rude. Any question you ask them is wasting their time. They really dont seem to care about serving people since they treat them like garbage.

I have been to 3 of the 4 banquet halls as a guest and they all have a unique, beautiful and elegant atmosphere. The food has always been amazing, actually beyond amazing. The layout and decor are always perfect and they change for whatever color the event is. The staff have always been courteous and helpful. Leslie is an amazing coordinator and very easy to work with. A+

I went to a wedding here for some friends. It was an average reception hall. There wasnt anything special or extraordinary about it in any way. I was not impressed by the layout of the room we were in. I wouldnt host my own event here as I feel there are many other options in the Twin Cities that can provide a similar or better level of service.
