Funeral Luncheon, 4/20/2016. Frank Penna, Penna’s staff (especially the owners/managers) are in the HOSPITALITY business. It’s not just about the food. It’s also about the service/hospitality. ALWAYS HOSPITABLE, not just occasionally. I know the public can be annoying. But, when a guest dining at your venue comes up to you (of all people) and makes a friendly comment like “you must be George’s son” or “are you George’s son?” the reply should be friendly and HOSPITABLE. Not rude, as your reply was “what do you need?”. ….. With several cups of coffee poured at our table, waiting for the wait staff with none in site for quite a while.. ….. just coffee cream !! Won’t be back too soon, not on my own anyway. Maybe, if I am obligated for a funeral luncheon. If clientele are bothersome, stay in the kitchen or office. Nonno Frank and Nonna Angelina would not be to proud to hear of this type of representation of their hard work, beginning 48 yrs ago @ Hoover/11. Everyone has their opinions; some of these negative reviews regarding food/service should be taken seriously, hopefully constructive criticism. (none of the reviews on any of the review sites are replied to… is anyone at Penna’s reading them? Doubt it! That might tell you something!)

Took the family here to celebrate a birthday on 10/11/13. It was horrible. My main complaint is around the food. I got the swordfish, which had clearly been frozen and tasted awful (texture, flavor, everything). Luckily they were cool about it, when I said it tasted frozen they said it was, and took it off the bill. The other meal ordered was Veal Piccata. No idea how that was, because we got Chicken Piccata delivered instead. It was marginally better, but the mushrooms were out of a can, and the chicken was also obviously frozen beforehand. The pasta noodles were cooked great, but they were definitely boxed and not homemade as the website claims.The server was super polite but extremely distracted. Super disappointed this is not a new favorite.

This place is just flat out terrible! Pompous owners, disenchanted servers & to top it off, frozen food trying to be passed off as homemade Italian? The best thing theyve done in a while is close their sub-par restaurant. Now they can focus on their banquets and parties, where they continue to use the leftover food from all the previous functions & stick it to the unknowing. Karmas a b!#$^ and it will come back to you for all the bad things this poorly run establishment has done over the years. Theyve destroyed a lifetime of hard work by their founders, all for an extra buck! Sterling Heights & Michigan would be a better and happier place if Villa Pennas would just close their doors and fade off into the past, where they belong!

I live within a mile from this place. And, every weekend they insist on blasting their music at full capacity. The staff is completely disrespectful, and unwilling to have their music at a reasonable volume. The management will not listen to a concern about having bass blast until 1:30am. Attempting to communicate in an intellectual conversation is not possible. I will never attend this venue on account of the disrespect this place has towards residents that live around them. There are plenty of suburbs, apartments, and old folks residents that live around them. Yet, the management seems to be apathetic about other peoples feelings. I enjoy peace and quiet, but every weekend I am forced to listen to bass until 1:30am or later.

One of my best restaurant experiences was at Villa Penna, where we were seated and served withing ten minutes. The entire dinner took less than a half hour because of how efficient and attentive the staff was to our meal! The atmosphere was soothing and romantic. The menu is priced a bit higher than average restaurants, however the portion sizes are perfect and the food is delicious. They have both a banquet hall for parties, and a restaurant area. I would highly recommend trying out this restaurant the next time youre looking for a place where you can dress up or dress down.

Our family hosted a graduation party at Villa Penna. The food was fantastic but the service was subpar. They were unable to provide childrens meals for 4 children seated at our table. We asked if they could prepare something else in place of chicken tenders and fries. They replied simply with a no. Lastly, after an hour of follow up requests for a highchair for our 10 month old I requested to speak with management when I was told they do not have any.

Wow what a great place to eat. My wife and I had our wedding reception here 3 years ago and finally made it back tonight for our anniversary dinner. Everyone still talks about how good the food was at the reception, even 3 years later! It was good to go back and we wish we lived closer so we could eat here more often. We definitely recommend Pennas!

Went to a wedding their this past Saturday. They had 3 weddings booked at the same time. We could hear the music or bass pounding from the next room. The dinner was late which made the whole evening late. Then they make you leave at 11:30 even though they are late. They got their money. Poor management and not customer oriented !!!!

Bread was warm & delicious. Side salad was wonderful with the housemade Italian dressing. Loved the shrimp scampi pasta. Prices are a little expensive but not bad. Restaurant is large so you dont feel cramped in or rushed to get out.

Came here for a banquet and played bocce ball. Had a great time, the food was excellent, and the bartender was attentive and kind. I will be coming back.
