Had a very bad experience with this venue.........We got engaged in January and began looking for places. We came across Paint Creek Country Club and fell in love with it! We didnt have the date set in stone with the church yet, so the manager said she would put it on hold for us. She did not give a time that holds expire, she did not give us a date in which we had to put deposits down, and we checked in with her on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. We decided on an earlier date, and asked if that date was available, it was and she said she would put that date on hold for us in addition to the other date. We said we would discuss it with the church (the priest was out of town on a mission trip and was getting back that week), and then put the deposit down. Again, no mention of a limit of days you can have the event date on hold. We finally scheduled a meeting with the church at the first available time (two weeks after the priest returned), and I emailed the manager first thing in the morning after we met with him asking to set up a date for us to sign the contract and make the deposit. She did not reply for over 24 hours, and when she did the email said, "Sorry, because I had not heard from you in two weeks, we gave away the date to another couple. The old date is still on hold and available for you." And a half apology after the explanation that she had given away our date a week prior. I would not have been as upset but... 1) She did not list a limit on the number of days you can have an event date on hold. 2) She did not notify me that someone else was interested in the date and give me the option to put the down payment down and plan the date. 3) She did not even notify me that the date we were still planning around had been booked!! I had to find out by emailing her AFTER I set the date with the church and AFTER I emailed her about contracts and deposits. I understand that "money talks", but what a bad business decision to turn your back on future customers that you had arrangements with. AT LEAST have the courtesy to say that another couple has put the down payment on that date and it is no longer available as soon as it happens, instead of waiting for me to contact you thinking I still have the date. I, for obvious reasons, looked elsewhere, and every other place I looked at gave me a day limit for holds upfront and said that I would have the first option even if someone else wanted that date. Its a shame because the place is beautiful, but the extreme flakiness of the management and disregard for all customers is a down side. I understand that we did have the date on hold for quite a few weeks, but wouldnt be as mad if the above three points were followed through on. I emailed her back voicing my concerns (in a very polite way, might I add) on the three points and got no response whatsoever.

June 2013 - Our daughters wedding reception was held at the Paint Creek Golf Course banquet facility. Paint Creek Country Club in Lake Orion Michigan has a new owner with new banquet manager. Several updates were made to the facility such as a new bar and restroom facilities which are very attractive. We had five star service, food, and management. It was gratifying to hear so many of our guests comment on the quality of food and how beautiful everything was. The day before the wedding we delivered two full vehicles of wedding items that we planned on setting up the morning of the wedding, I arrive early on the day of the wedding and to my surprise, I found that the Paint Creek staff had already set everything up for us; this included a candy and Greek pastry table. Management is very accommodating and they made every effort to ensure our event was pleasant experience. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND Paint Creek Golf Course in Lake Orion for your next event.

We recently had a retirement party for one of our long time employees. He wanted to go golfing and have about 20 of his closest friends together for a fun day of golf, laughs, food and drinks. The course was in great shape and even though it rained for the first few holes we played the golf course held up well and was a challenge for all of those who participated. We had food waiting for us after the 18 hole event and the Staff did an excellent job taking care of everyone and making sure we had everything we needed to make this special event a great venue. The food was tasty -Chicken, Burgers, beans, salads and they kept the drinks coming. The gentleman retiring just sat on the patio overlooking the course and said what a great time he had and that he could really get used to retirement. Thank you everyone at Paint Creek for making this such a great event for us. We will definitely plan another outing soon!

Weve hosted numerous Orion Area Chamber of Commerce events at Paint Creek Country Club and every time the experience has been fantastic. The banquet facility is perfect, there is ample parking and the staff is extremely helpful. I would recommend having your event here if you have the opportunity.
