Michigan is the home of two of the largest sports stadiums in the world. So, thats where the Lions play, right? Nope. The Tigers? Nope. The biggest stadium is U of M AAs, second up, MSUs Spartan stadium, THEN, the Tigers and the Lions. Even though Im a MSU student, had to give my Ole schools stadium just a 2. Heres why: you might want to rethink college football as an amateur sport. Last I checked, the Spartans website was being run by CBS TV, and most of Spartan stadiums enclosed interior is dedicated to mass media facilities. The stadium, and the business of MSU football, is pretty much divorced from the school itself. The Stadium, technically on MSU grounds, is almost a mile away from the nearest academic building. Every MSU team is division I, and the sports facilities are so humungous, that most of the school acreage is devoted to them. If you decide to go, expect super high ticket prices - even in the nose bleed section - super long lines and wait times - no bags, and a war on terror pat down - and unless its before November or youve got a suite: BRRRRR! COLD! In some of my pics, I went in October, and had a school press pass, thats why I got my bag in.

Im a huge Spartan fan, my first MSU game was in 2001 and I have had season tickets since 2011. Ive seen some great games and upsets since that first game. Yes its an old stadium but it sure doesnt look like it. Video screens are amazing, the atmosphere is electric (you can hear the Go Green Go White chants throughout the whole stadium.) You have plenty room to walk around, the bathrooms arent the greatest but just hold it for 3 hours, youll be fine. So many concession stands to choose from. Comfortable for sitting, however you dont have much leg room. But I heard they decided to lower the capacity a bit to widen the isles for more comparability. So they actually care about their fans rather than the our brother in Ann Arbor who just tries to set records and cram the whole state of Michigan in one place. All and all, Spartan Stadium is a great place for a football game.

On the banks of the Red Cedar, Theres a school thats known to all; Its specialty is winning, And those Spartans play good ball; Spartan teams are never beaten, All through the game they fight; Fight for the only colors: Green and White. Go right through for MSU, Watch the points keep growing, Spartan teams are bound to win, Theyre fighting with a vim! Rah! Rah! Rah! See their team is weakening, Were going to win this game, Fight! Fight! Rah! Team, Fight! Victory for MSU!

Okay, Im biased - but what a great stadium. I am a fan of both of the B1G schools in Michigan and have been to games at both. Yeah the Big House is big but man is it uncomfortably crowded on those benches. Here the seating is a bit more spacious. Such a beautiful campus, especially in the fall that if youre going to a game a Spartan Stadium you need to budget time to walk around before going in.

As an MSU alum I can say Im proud of the upgrades theyve made to this place. Back in medieval times when I was a student there, it seemed to be tired with a lot of old and rusted steel girders. Now it is a very clean and modern-looking facility with wrap around digital screens and excellent lighting for night games. GO GREEN and FAIL to the WALverines!

I have been a season ticket holder for some time now and always love attending State games. The atmosphere in Spartan Stadium is unparalleled to any other sporting event I have ever attended. I have been there for a number of close games (Wisconsin Hail Mary, OT TD vs ND, OT TD vs UofM, etc) and could have ask for a better experience. Go Green!

Love coming to the MSU game. As an honorary spartan (married into diehard family), its an amazing lifestyle. Good sportsmanship from nearby fans, good stadium, awesome recycling. Food/drink prices are high (bottle water = $4), but thats college football life for ya. At least the money goes to the right places! Go Green!

Easily the best college stadium Ive been to. Seats are not as close together as some places Ive been to, but its not spacious either. We have seat backs so its not an issue most games. Good selection of food and the line move quickly. Bathrooms are typical for a college football stadium of this age.

Poorly designed stadium. Its one of those above ground structures that you have to hike up to find your seat. The food areas are poorly placed with limited access. It might be more tolerable without all the stupid drunk sparties - what a bunch of low class people

Big stadium and really crowded at big games, probably the Michigan State v Oregon game was the most crowded; my family was outside the gate for 45 minutes and crammed with all the people. Fun & exciting football games, just dont be surprised if it is super crowded.

Sure, I may be biased but, Im a Spartan alum...can you blame me. From little giants to the rocket, some of my greatest memories from undergrad came in this great stadium. I will continue attending MSU football games so long as my body allows it. Go Green!

Ppl here are always miserable. They embark on the stadium looking for some quality entertainment, only to be let down. On a positive note, the girls are easy, and the alcohol flows on gamedays. Many of my friends little brothers went here.

Clean and modern. Huge LED screens at each end - huge on south, banner type and two more in north. Concessions everywhere and well organized. A real traditional grass field. No one eats and inhales toxic tire bits on this field.

Pretty good football team, the seating is cramped and it always seems like I sit near a bitchy fan, but I like making fun of them so thats okay. My main complaint is the prices for tickets, way to expensive for college football.

Beautiful stadium with ample space on the beachers. Definitely have been to more crowded arenas, though the seats are fairly small. No bags allowed but theyll let you bring a blanket to sit on and a bottle of water!

An ethical blot on the priority-intelligence of a great public university and an insult to the tax payers. As for the architecture....perfect reflection.... right out of Albert Speers preposterous playbook.

This place was great to go to for the first time. Make sure you dont bring on your purse or u have to take it back to the car. Sitting close to each other. Who cares.....its a football game. Had a great time.

Its a beautiful day for football! The seats are old, cramped and cold but the thrill of being at a Spartans home game with the band and student section make it a must-do location for all Spartan fans.

This grand old stadium is really tired...bathroom availability is really poor and concessions are inconvenient. All that said, it is always great to be in Spartan Stadium--Go Green!

In terms of locations where the Spartan Football Team plays home games, this is the only venue worth discussing because it is the only venue where they play home games.

Great stadium with great fans. When its gameday, you have to be here! Being in student section is the best but guest seats are great too! No bad seat in the house.
