Our family was there for the 2017 Gala gymnastics meet. Much of Asheville was shut down on account of the snow and ice from winter storm Helena, but the U.S. Cellular Center was open and well staffed. For our event parking was convenient and a very short walk to the arena. The facilities were well lit and appeared to be well maintained. The concessions staff was friendly and the prices and selection were on par with what one would expect for a convention center. While I am aware that the event host and the venue operators are not the same, the event ran very smoothly and many times that can be impacted tremendously by the venue and their support.

The weekend before the Neil deGrasse Tyson show, my mother fell and broke her hip. She was released from the hospital on the day of the show, and still really wanted to go. We didnt have time to get a handicap access hanger, and even if we did, getting somewhat closer to the U.S. Cellular Center is still challenging for someone who needed a walker to get into the building. Plus, our tickets were in the balcony which has no elevator access. I called Sharon, explained the situation, and she immediately gave us VIP parking, changed our seats (at a sold out show!), and made sure that we were taken care of. Amazing people. Love this town!

Attended Brian Wilson concert, the 5th time ive seen him or some combination of the Beach Boys. I was excited to see Brian and hear the Pet Sounds music played live. The place was packed, unfortunately, THE SOUND MIX WAS HORRIBLE. Flat, bassy, and garbled. I complaine to the sound man, but things got only marginally better. The crowd seems to be in full nostalgia mode, hearing what they heard fifty years ago, but I wanted some real music. This was the tours responsibility. BUT The Civic Center SNUCK AN EXTRA $5 CHARGE ON MY $7 GLASS OF CHEAP WINE WITHOUT INFORMING ME THEY WERE DOING SO. Cheesy.

a wonderful night of music and nostalgic rock in roll. i would like to thank the civic centers event staff for finding my car keys which fell from my pocket after the show.after searching for a few minutes in the cold rain,i returned to the lobby to inquire if anyone had found them.one of the staff looked @ me,grinned and said..."you mean these keys? it was hilarious! a perfect end to a perfect night.your staff was friendly and very helpful. keep up the good work and i will attend future events @ your facilities.best regards, ben brasington weaverville,n.c

Paid an arm and a leg for Alabama Shakes tickets several months ago. Should have known we were doomed when they moved the show to the US Cellular Center. Was looking forward to the show for a long time, and the sounds was horrendous. It was like someone in a 30 year old car playing their speakers boosted to 14. You couldnt hear the instruments or even the powerful voices. Extremely disappointing, as we paid $120 for the two tickets, and left early. Wont make this mistake again.

There were a lot of restrictions on the show I went to (GRiZ NYE), but it was good venue. GA floor and GA balcony seating means you can be down on the pit or up by some seats. Im shorter, so the balcony seats ment I could actually see the show and had plenty of dance space. I also saw several acts here for Mountain Oasis and enjoyed it for the same reasons. Docked it a star because some of the excessive restrictions.

Great location for events and centrally located to everything, if youre in town visiting for a convention, you have tons of options off property if you want to shop and dine on your downtime. The staff is friendly and always accommodating and willing to answer any questions you have.

US Cellular Center (formally Civic Center) is a technologically impotent venue, replete with dated echoing sound, horrible stage sightlines, brutally inefficient concessions and a TSA style, fascist brigade of numbskulls who confiscate personal belongings upon frisk/wand entry.

This place charges $2 just to get a wristband to drink alcohol. Then you have to pay $6-$8 per drink (to be expected at a concert). But I still cant get over that $2 charge for the wristband. Its like paying a $2 cover to see a band you already paid $40 for a ticket for.

Bad sound. Dated seats, bathrooms, & water fountains. The vending is an outright joke. Skip it. The smoking area is an outright joke, skip it. Asheville looses so many huge tour dates from all types of bands bc of the low quality of this venue. By by Moog..

Decent large music and events venue. The acoustics are not ideal, but the large space can accommodate more people than most other venues in town. More importantly, there are several beer lines, and it doesnt take too long to get one if you go to the right area.

Great place for music. The Thomas Wolfe center is actually inside the US Cell Center. The best parking is either their parking garage on the backside of the building or near the Grove arcade.

Both times I have been to the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium for a concert, I have enjoyed myself with the show, the acoustics are amazing there. The staff was very friendly and helpful when needed.

Very cool venue. A little irritated by the lack of control of people just sitting anywhere. We had numerous people hopping in and out of seats near us. Otherwise a great place.

This will always be the Civic Center for me. Im not sure what U.S. Cellular has done to get their name on this building because it looks exactly as it did 20 years ago.

We attended the Charlie Daniels Band concert here, but its a multi-venue place. We were in the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, which was fine... But not a big venue experience.

Always a pleasure to visit this antiquated relic, a forgotten artifact of time in the heart of our city. Even more so when you are there to see Ween in concert.

Great venue. Acoustics are not the best, but everything else is just fine. They let you get into your musicians the way that you would like in a safe manner.

Went there for a Discover the Dinosaurs event, its a decent building. However it could use some repairs and repainting in quite a few areas

Always treated well there. Concert sound is usually good, for the type of building it is. Parking situation could be better.

Nice place to host an event. Parking garages around the corner so the walk. Overall enjoyed our experience there.

Filthy location. Sticky floors, dirty old carpet, small cramped concession area, broken seats. Needs a facelift.

Loved the Dinosaur event that took place here. My kiddo was completely thrilled and we plan to go again next year.
