Good location. I did not try the food. The deck outside was very nice with several rocking chairs and a cool breeze. I only gave three stars because I was disappointed with the beer quality. I brew beer at home, and I am fan of ales. I did not enjoy the majority of the beers in my flight on my visit. I enjoyed the Fishermans brew and the IPA. Both were flavorful and easy to drink. The Brew has a good malty profile with excellent mild hop flavor. The IPA is not overhopped and very flavorful. The remainder of my flight was super light. They were seasonal beers. There was a Pils (decent), a session beer (did not finish), and a fruity IPA that I did not enjoy. Now, I like a specific type of beer (mostly ales), so I generally do not drink saisons, sessions, or fruity beers. I would definitely visit again to try some of the stouts and other seasonal options. They were out of the stout I wanted to try. Overall, a great place to visit. They have board games and a beautiful deck.

What an amazing little waterside restaurant! Friends and I came down from Toronto to Boston area for the weekend and we stayed in Gloucester and happened upon this gem. Regina (Reggie), our server, was such a joy and honestly made the experience so much more awesome - all four of us agreed on that! She was great at recommending beers and making sure everything went smoothly. The drunken mussels were the best mussels I had all weekend and we tried 3 or 4 different places. Queen Esther beer was great, even for a beer "hater" such as myself ;) All in all an amazing experience and I wish we went one more time!

The beers are top notch. The fish and chips, fishermans platter, the haddock sandwich, they do one of the tastiest fried fish (usually haddock) around. Youre in Gloucester and youre getting fresh fish.Rest of the menu is decent too I just gravitate to the fresh fish. They make their own fries and potato chips. Wicked. Gets loud when packed but service even when crowded is quick and friendly. Take out growlers. Bring the empties back! Great deal.

The beer is excellent, the food is good and the service is just ok. We had quite a few beers and decided to have a glass of ice water, lets just say I hope they dont brew their beer with that stuff because all you could taste was chlorine. The tables were sticky even on a slow night "Thursday Oct 20" Our server was friendly but did her job to the minimum standard. If your looking for local beer, this is the place to go.

great beer, friendly patrons and service staff family style with large pine tables lots of fun, kind of noisy, at least this one Wednesday night near end of March Had fish and chips, fish was great, would have preferred fries to potato chips, but they were also pretty decent Overall a very good experience for those looking for brew pub

They have a wide range of beers and allow you to try each one before you purchase an entire pint. I would suggest getting 2 flights and it gets you a taste of every beer. Wish the food choices were a little better, but of course you dont go there for the food. Nice to be on the water also but view is only of a few fishing boats

Every time I go here I tell myself I shouldnt. Food is mediocre, service crappy, its crowded and the stupid picnic table seating inside makes me feel like Im at a school cafeteria or camp! For all that $$ that the place charges, why not make it a nice classy restaurant like some of the other brew pubs. The beer is ok.

The beers here are very good and Im sure there will be at least one beer youll love. From IPAs to summer ales, theyre all there. The food menu is extensive with delicious seafood as well. The outdoor seating is great with a view of the wharf and the nice sea breeze blowing through. The staff is very friendly too.

Pretty awesome food, drink, patrons, and staff. Very chill vibe. Only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because the prices are just a tad-only a tad, too expensive. For example, calamari app is $10, but the entree is $14 (entree includes fries and coleslaw). So its not too bad, but just a tad too....

Two tired boys. Could have used crayons or something but staff was very friendly and understanding. Beer was really well done. I had the Scottish ale. Food was good pub fair. Was afraid to try ghost chilli wings. Later found they had a corner full of toys for kids.

The beer is delicious. The food is very good & reasonably priced. However, if you wish to ENJOY your experience, do NOT sit at the bar where you can hear the manager belittle & insult barmaids/waitresses, and the cooks (who he referred to as "Spics").

Great micro-brewery, pretty good kitchen, so-so service. The beer is always outstanding, and we like to keep a couple of their growlers in our fridge. The food is tasty, but the wait staff often make mistakes. Theyre usually good about fixing them.

I love Cape Ann Brewery. Whenever I take my kids to Cape Ann Whale Watch in Gloucester MA, we always have dinner there. Great food and a huge selection of beer. The restaurant is right on the Harbor and just a beautiful atmosphere! Two thumbs up!

Medium at best. Worst pretzel Ive ever had, fish tacos have breaded fish that quickly gets soggy, tasteless almost rotten tasting cole-slaw .....and on & on. Definitely not a place I will remember or look to visit on my next trip to MA.

Top 3 best breweries in Boston and definitely in the North Shore. Beer selection is always excellent and the food is real good. Atmosphere day or night in this place is a nice laid back happy party. My go to every time Im in town.

Great pub/brewery style restaurant. The portions and pricing are decent. They dont accept reservations, and they can get quite popular, so youll have to wait sometimes for a seat (15-20 minutes in my experience), but worth the wait.

Appetizers and seafood mac and cheese were very good! The Dead-Eye Double IPA was awesome! And they make their own hot sauce, Fishermans Burn, is a must try if you enjoy it spicy. I know that I will be back!

Cape Ann Brewing used to be decent, now its a tourest trap, ordered a burger and "whole" clams, burger was good, clams should have been listed as clam strips. Beer is good

Good food - great beer - and an awesome environment. Whether you sit inside and play pub games - or outside and enjoy the view of the harbor this place is a treat.

Excellent burgers and even better beers. If you like a hoppy beer, try their IPA. Seating is at long tables with wooden benches. Great place for a large group.
