This place was absolutely unprofessional and ignorant.I wish this site would let me give them NO stars! My pregnant wife and I have not been out in months and decided to try Kings out since it wasnt a full bar attraction and we could have some fun. As we entered through the front door expecting to have a good night we came to the door man and gave him our identification. First i gave him mine, a Mass drivers license and a Military I.D. Next my pregnant wife handed him her Mass drivers license. He stared at it like it was made in a basement. He then askedd her for a second ID. She gave him her college ID. He said it was unexceptable and then said " dont you have a debit card?" Being a full time student she didnt have a bank account we used mine, which we told him. I then asked to speak to his supervisor. We waited about 20 minutes for him to come to the front door. The man looked at my wife and then looked at me and said " Im sorry but its house rules to ask who we want for a back up ID", even though a sign on the wall right next to us said Mass drivers license was accepted with no back up. In my mind the men were either racist, like to discriminate against pregnant women( which a friend told me was the second pregnant women turned down that night), or had something against the military. I hope whoever reads my review changes thier mind about going there that night because i know myself all my friends will not be attending that place ever.

ATMOSPHERE: The atmosphere was great. It has a retro bowling alley feel, but the facilities appeared to be fairly new and well kept. FOOD: The food prices are moderately high. Our group ordered multiple appetizers, of which some were good (spring rolls) and others were lackluster. My entree was the blackened chicken sandwich which came on a roll that was big, yet untoasted. The chicken had no seasoning whatsoever, and looked like it came out of the freezer. Overall, the food was obviously items that they pull from the freezer, which I would have expected higher quality for the price. Drink prices are also very high. Not sure if it was with every Top Shelf liquor, but the Grey Goose was obviously not Grey Goose. They doctor the bottles. SERVICE: The service was terribly slow. We started ordering our next round as soon as the waitress came with the previous drink order. It took a couple hours to have 2 drinks and an appetizer. This was also during the middle of the afternoon on a Thursday. Really no excuse for the slowness. Overall, I would advise coming here to bowl, but avoid wasting your time and money on the food or drinks. If you have to wait on a lane, get your name in and then grab a drink at another establishment from the many nearby.

Friday or Saturday night last year. I had convinced our party of 8 to buy 2 rounds of bowling, but we never even finished the first round because the lane broke down and we had an attendant attempt to fix it on 4 separate occasions. We decided wed rather drink by the bar so we spoke with the elder manager about getting our money back for the round we hadnt even started - we didnt even want the first botched round back. NO REFUNDS ON BOWLING was the sign at the desk he pointed out for us. NO EXCHANGES the sign said as well when we asked to have it applied to our bar tab. Silly customer service rules that leave a bad taste in peoples mouth. Popular spot, but our whole group was pretty annoyed and well never go back. Head 15 minutes south to Gillette if you want a better bowling experience. I told my HR group my experience and they agreed to not have the annual holiday party ( 130 ppl ) there last year, one of the HR girls had even had a bad experience with the same manager. Good luck increasing weekday traffic with poor customer experiences. Owners, try a new manager when you get a chance.

Gotta remember to check out Groupon voucher if they have it available. Ive paid full price a few times with SO and Ill agree with the other customers that the prices are a bit expensive for bowling especially on weekends. For just 2 games with my SO it cost about $40 plus the rental, before youre even tempted to order food! So you can imagine if you are with more friends it definitely adds up. The wait times are ridiculous if you dont get there early enough but they do have the option for you to kill some time and eat at their restaurant portion. They give you the option to push you up to the front of the waitlist if you dine there, but still doesnt really guarantee a reservation. Each time Ive come here with friends weve had a blast though despite the higher cost. The food here also is quite tasty for a bowling alley. Usually at other places they just have chicken fingers, fries, hot dog or just some basic eats. Id say its definitely worth it if you have a discount voucher for the fun and convenience of the location in the mall area. Otherwise, Ill just save the splurge for a special occasion.

I never write reviews (until today, when I made an account just to write this one). I was very impressed with the quality of service, food and whole ambiance that Kings Dedham had to offer. A group of friends went out on a Friday and had made a "dine & bowl" reservation. The hostess was super bubbly and welcoming. Our waitress was exceptionally nice, and treated my fiance and I to a bottle of champagne on the house when she found out we were recently engaged! The manager, who was very personable, also came over several times to check in and congratulate us on our engagement. Dinner was delicious, bowling was fun, and the karaoke was equally a blast. The staff were so friendly and welcoming the whole time, and it made our night! We will definitely be back. Not sure where the other reviews are coming from - the place was busy but service was still swift and attentive throughout the whole experience. It was such a memorable night, made even better by the quality staff Kings had working that night. I highly recommend Kings Dedham!

So I came with 5 other friends to bowl. The ambiance was great. The server was great as well. The group had their check split, on my card I decided to just pay the due amount and I would leave the tip cash. So I put 35 even on my total line and a line across my tip line to signify 0. Before we were about to leave I went and looked for my server and gave him 10 dollars tip. He said thanks and I went to the rest room before leaving since I haved too many beers. As I was coming out my server stopped me and said hey take these 10 dollars I "accidentally put 10 on the card for a tip." There is no way that was an accident. That was so deceitful I am very dissapointed because I love KINGS. ALWAYS CHECK THE CHARGES AFTER. HE DID THAT ON PURPOSE BECAUSE I WAS A LITTLE TIPSY.

This place is nice but kind of sucks at the same time. This is the 3rd time Ive been here with friends and reserved a lane lane only to find that the 1.5 hour wait is actually like 3 hours... If lucky . Granted it was a Saturday, I wish I was quoted a realistic time. They want you to drink and eat but care less if you get to do what you came here to do.....bowl. theres no money in the bowling I guess. The food is good and they make nice drinks but if I wanted to go to a bar I would have. We came to do something different. If you want to bowl I suggest you reserve a table to eat at ahead of time and I was told it will bump you ahead for a bowling lane at the same time. I wish their website would have said that.
