Im a big music fan, so when the music is right my mind is right. Went to this spot to check out a drummer friend, stayed for so much more. It was a super funky experience.. words wont do justice. its worth checking out. Im going back soon to check out another band by the name of Dub Apocalypse. The musical part of the venue is in a sub level and may feel a bit claustrophobic for some, but once you order a beverage and begin to absorb the music, youll be fine. It actually enhances the experience You can almost get close enough for the musicians to sweat on you.. If youre into that stuff (..and who isnt) On my first trip I got the chance to see 3 bands.. all very good! Think funky, jazzy, Erykah Badu, Parliament. Vocalists were on point and very entertaining.. and the music? FugetAboutit!!

The Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam and Slam is an award winning weekly feature at the Lizard Lounge located at 1667 Massachusetts Ave. in Cambridge MA. The Jam and Slam happen every Sunday night at 7:30PM and is hosted by Joyce Cunha, Arthur Collins, Neiel Israel and Jeff Robinson. A featured poet, sometimes of national prominence, performs each week, and The Jeff Robinson Trio, a collective comprising of three of Boston’s most well known and heralded musicians, lays down the musical foundation for spoken word performances that have made this event a must see for nearly 20 years. If you are local to the Boston area, or visiting for the very first time, you owe it to yourself to check out this amazing night — you will never think of live poetry in quite the same way again.

Snap... Snap... Snap... These poets deserve a gold medal for how they cleverly meddle, with words that hit like bricks, stacked high by powerful links, embedded with valuable nuggets of new ways to think. The Lizard Lounge has creatively and thoughtfully allowed, the rawest form of passion to intricately speak aloud, Every Sunday night is slam night, and consistent with their vow, constantly moving you without physics, and to that- I bow. Great selection of beer and inexpensive but higher quality bar food. The kind of place that has a salmon burger without the market price.

Underground bar and concert venue. Great vibe, huge coatrack. Mostly standing room but you can snag a stool if youre lucky.

Great beer list, food was good. The concert hall downstairs is intimate and cozy. Great place to see an acoustic set.
