I came here for my sisters Bachelorette Party that I had planned to be in Boston. When I first checked in, they gave me my room key and everything seemed fine. The seven of us went up to the room and it was a TINY room with one queen sized bed. I had requested a room with 2 full sized beds. I went down to the front desk to complain, and they said that they didnt have any rooms available with 2 full sized beds, but because I HAD requested that, they upgraded us to a bigger room with one queen sized bed and said they could bring up 2 pull out beds, all free of charge. The front desk people were somewhat apologetic, which was fine. They gave me my 2nd room key and sent us up to the 38th floor (the top floor). By this time I had to call the restaurant we were scheduled to go to and push back the reservations. I get up to the 38th floor, and the key doesnt work. No lights were going on at all on the scanner on the door. This meant I had to go all the way back down to the front desk to get our keys checked. I did this, and they said that the key was fine and that the scanner on the door was out of batteries (something they should check regularly on each of the rooms). I went back up to the room and still the key didnt work. By this time we had been at the hotel and not in our room for about 45 mins. NEXT, I go back downstairs AGAIN for the 3RD time and they say that they will send up a electrician to change the batteries. We wait another 20 mins for the guy to show up, and in the meantime I have to call the restaurant AGAIN to push back our reservations for the 2nd time. FINALLY he comes and checks the door. He doesnt have the right equipment so he goes to get it which takes another 10-15 mins. AT LAST, after over an hour of waiting, we get into our room. After complaining to the electrician about how awful the service was at the Marriott, he tells us he is going to send up the manager. The manager comes up and is completely unapologetic and says things like "these things happen" and "what do you want me to do about it". We asked if we would be able to get compensated in some way, and the manager proceeds to tell us that MAYBE she can do something for us. She leaves our room and we get a phone call saying that they will send up 2 bottles of complimentary champagne. This was great, however it did not help us overlook how rude the staff was to us and how unprepared they were to have us arrive at the room. I will NEVER stay at a Marriott again.

This review is only because of my experience today. Up until today I would have given them a 5 star.. I was treated like a criminal today and I have absolutely no idea why.. ZERO idea. I have never been treated with so much disrespect by a business in my life. I am Platinum member. I travel weekly and have been staying at this hotel since November . I am so upset because I have no idea why I was targeted, when all I was doing was getting on the elevator so that I could leave and go to work. Below is the complaint that I have written to the hotel.. It just happened this morning so I have not gotten a response yet. But I hope this man gets fired. I never would wish for someone to lose their job but he does not deserve to work with the public. I would like to formally complain about my treatment this morning by one of your staff members. I am assuming he was security but he was in a suit and not a security uniform. As I am getting on the elevator on the 28th floor, this gentlemen, black guy, maybe African or Haitian, not quite sure of his decent. But as I am getting on he was getting off and he turns around and gets back on with me. The entire time he is watching me which makes me uncomfortable but he didnt say anything so we exit on the first floor and as I am walking out of the door, he questions if I stay at this hotel. Clearly he just saw me get on the elevator on a floor that requires key access. I say YES why, he never responded why and demanded that I give him my key and he asked one of the desk agents to run my key. I am still asking him why and he still never responded. So I snatched my key and proceeded to leave to get into my Uber so that I could get to work. As I am leaving I could see him and a uniformed security gentleman following me out of the door. They didnt say anything else to me but I feel very harassed and offended that I was treated like a common criminal and do not have a clue why. I have never been treated like this in my life. And this has really upset me because he never had the common courtesy to even tell me why. He had absolutely no right to treat me like that and I would like this filed as a formal complaint. I do not have the gentlemens name but I am sure it could be easily found out. This happened 1/6/2016 around 8 a.m.

Decided to take a weekend trip to Boston and spend a little extra money staying at a nicer bigger Marriott instead of a basic fairfield inn ect. Got to the hotel and looked great and staff seemed nice. It was connected to a mall and garage which also had a great location between everything. Got up to the room which had a nice view only to find was a empty used dunkin donuts cup on the ground, then a employee just walked right in the room without knocking luckily we were decent. Then we went right across the street to the star grocery store to get some things for the weekend and got a case of beer and bottle of whiskey; come to find out when we were walking in to hotel to go to the room we were stopped by some of the rudest employees saying that we are not aloud to take alcohol up to our room. How can you tell me what i can and cant have? The employee and security said that they had a bar in the hotel so how are they suppose to make money if we dont buy the drinks from the hotel! Im sorry that i can pay $8 for a 6 pack of beer instead of 1 beer from the bar. So we had to make a trip all the back to the parking garage to open everything and hide it all in our bags and coats then walk all the way back in. (side note nothing to do with directly to hotel but do not go to boston if you are under 25 and want to buy alcohol from the star grocery stores.) They said they do not accept out of state ids under the age of 25! WTF is that!!!! they needed more proof of age and they still did not know what a concealed carry permit is either smh!! Then come to find out waking up the next morning i was fixing my bed up come to find the pillows that were the 2 on the bottom had red lipstick stains on them. All in all i was very disappointed and should have stayed at the Renaissance Hotel!
