Went here to enjoy some childhood nostalgia and enjoy some bowling with a great person. We arrived to have the clerk at the desk making fun of a mentally challenged patron, the clerk was saying "jeez he aint that smart is he". The clerk was obviously very unfriendly and very rude. He constantly ignored us and was yelling at the TV. It cost just over $20 for two of us to play two strings. The automatic scoring messed up about 3 times that I noticed. Stay clear of this place, it is too bad because this used to be a great place to go in Beverly. You would be better off taking a little bit of a drive and going to Sunnyside in Danvers or Metro bowl in Peabody.

Our Valentines date was ruined! We walked in planning to play 3 rounds. We had never been candlepin bowling, and we are very poor, so this was a big deal! (We never get out) At the beginning of the 2nd round, the lights were all turned on, music off, and the guy working there had passed by us saying "wrap it up". My husband asked what was going on and they guy was so weird -- no apologies, just "you have to leave". We left stunned and feeling REALLY jipped -- we just wasted our money. I called the following day, and the owner had no idea, but is going to compensate us, but seriously! Who hires this kind of guy?!

I grew up in Beverly and always went the Bowl-o-matt. The place certainly has gone down hill since then. I waited forever for the bonehead behind the counter to stop talking to his buddy before he would help me. I got 3 pairs of shoe and what i thought was 3 games for about $60 buck...for bowling? What a rip off. The place looks old and seedy. Would it hurt them to clean the place up a bit? I wont go back there. Its Cape Ann Lanes for me. Its fresh and clean and 1/2 the price as the other dirty old hole. Sorry, Bowl-O-Matt, you arent worth the money!

Great place to bowl! I love the original retro decor, its like going back in time. They should use it to their advantage and market it as a retro bowling alley, maybe clean it up a bit and throw some vintage arcade games in the arcade room. If they got a liquor license, that would get people coming in, too. Even still, without all the glitz and glamour, the bowl-o-mat is still a great place to be.

Very no frills bowling in a very dated facility. The staff isnt very friendly and the place smells of cigarettes. The arcade feels like a step back into the early 90s and the prizes might be from before that.

This place is very old and grungy. I took my 3 yr old son to play in the arcade area and it was just us and his friend. Some games didnt work properly or were unplugged .
