I had THE most bizarre meeting with the event coordinator at the club last week when I tried to book a graduation dinner for 75+ people in June 2016. Although the date I wanted was open on the calendar, she refused to make the booking. She told me that unless I was ready to commit to spending $8000.00, that she would not book the event on the count that “something better” might come along later. She asked for my phone number and told me that if the space were still available at the beginning of June, shed give me a call. When I asked for a copy of the policy letter requiring the $8,000 minimum booking fee, she confirmed that such policy letter did not exist. I would be appalled by such lack of professionalism from any organization; but I find it even more unacceptable in the community where I’ve lived for the past 11 years. Someone needs to be held accountable. My next step is to submit this review to the BBB, followed with contacting the club’s senior management.

Good morning. I had the opportunity to play 10-9-2016. I was extremely pleased not with just the golf course design, condition, and green conditions but with the extreme professionalism and friendliness of the staff and marshals. They truly made you feel comfortable before, during, and after the round. I was really impressed, after the amount of rain that fell, with the conditions of the course. The greens rolled so true. I just wish all golfers understood to repair their marks on the green. This is everywhere and seem to be a problem not just a OHGC issue. Lack of etiquette throughout US. People not being taught right before they pick up a club. Regardless if you want a great course to play for the money Old Hickory is the place and a place that will welcome you with a smile and open arms. Thank you

Played Sunday 10/9/16. Fairways and greens were in fair/good shape. The tees were a bit rough with no sand at the par 3s and tons of untreated divots. Around the greens were miserable with burn out or disease with a black mud (had rain day before). None of the bunkers were touched and it seemed the holes had been in the same spot for a day or more. There is no way they should be charging $90+ on this place for a weekend round with those conditions. We complained and they gave us a 2 for 1 coupon for weekday play. The bartender and waitstaff at the bar were very good and the food was quite good. It was not crowded and we got our round in under 4 hours for 2 players (7 and 13 handicap).

I have been a member at Old Hickory for 11 years and if not for the crappy driving range I would have given the course a solid 5 rating. The course itself is always in good shape and very fun to play. Old Hickory is very challenging from the tees and the greens can be very tricky with tough pin placements. The biggest positive of Old Hickory is the staff. They have always been Incredible!! I have always felt like part of the Old Hickory family. I highly recommend you play at Old Hickory...you will enjoy your day and know that you have played one of the best public courses in Northern Virginia!!

Beautiful course. Polite staff. No golf etiquette being enforced at all. I havent been able to get past hole 13 in the past 3 trips out. They allow groups of 5 and 6 golfers that apparently do not understand to let faster groups play through. So, the course is always backed up. And evidently its ok for people to drive around and jump on wherever they please. Players seem to come from nowhere and jump in front of you..... Its a true shame because it is a GREAT course to play. Both fun and challenging.

Used to love this course, played last weekend and I dont know what has happened to the course. People great, nice proshop and good food etc (average driving range by the way) but the course has seriously deteriorated. Tee boxes with weeds all of them, grass growing in the bunkers with old sand. Some holes feel like a unloved public course. Hope they get it together, used to be one of my favorite courses over the past 5 years.

Course was in great shape. I wish I had played this course once before due to some sever elevation changes there are definitely some places its beneficial to lay up at rather than getting greedy. The wind was also 15-20 MPh so that added another layer of difficulty to the course. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and it was a great golfing experience. Ill definitely be back to play another day.

Challenging course. Greens are usually decent but there are quite a few rough spots specifically around the greens and some of the tee boxes. Pretty narrow in some parts and almost no flat lies, you can hit the middle of very fairway and will almost always have a side hill lie of some kind. Staff is friendly and they so have a restaurant upstairs.

For the price, the tee boxes were in bad shape, the green ball marks were many and the overall upkeep was poor. The value compared to Potomac Shores or even Forest Greens was over priced. They have a long way to go in order to have the course in better shape.

Had to walk out on the range to shag balls. Very poor layout. Long walk to first hole and practice area. No signs. Long walks from hole 1 to hold two, 4 to 5 and 9 to 19. Picturesque fairways.

Awesome course. Best in Prince William County hands down. The staff is fantastic. The food is delicious and the people behind the bar are very friendly. My favorite course to play.
