BIG FELLA
After reading posts and heard that the golf course had been a great improvement from years ago we decided to give this place another chance since we were looking for somewhere relatively close to home to play. Sad to say that the golf course is no better now than it was in years past. The staff seem to be oblivious to this and even seemed appalled when we responded that the conditions left much to be desired when they asked what we thought of the place. The place of play was insufferable as we were behind a twosome of players that had no business on the golf course, and had no idea of how to conduct themselves. They were slow, had no etiquette and didnt NOT take care to watch their steps on the greens (not that you could really tell) as well of the consideration to allow faster players to play through while they "Hooped and hollad" over making putts for double and triple bogey. It seems to me that anytime Billy Casper Management is running a facility the standards are often very low. How this place can ask for almost 60 bucks for weekend play and get away with it is beyond me. We wont be revisiting this one again.

Reading everyone elses reviews this place seems to be getting hit too hard. There are not many other options without driving another half an hour to another course, but it is priced right where it needs to be Id say. I have played here a couple of times and the pace of the play is probably the biggest issue. I am really looking forward to playing there this weekend so hopefully they will have fixed or attempted to fix some of the issues. I rarely use the practice facility but the butting green is nice and mats are old and could either be replaced or possibly rotated. But Ill be there this weekend so Ill have an updated review next week. The course was in great shape. It was slow as expected but was actually faster than expected as well. Had about a 4 and a half hour round . I am very interested to see what it will look like when they tear down the club house and build a new one

I was a bit skeptical about this place at first after reading some reviews, but Im glad I decided to try it out. The course was beautiful and had some great woodland and lake views. The greens were in great condition and were challenging. However, as other had posted, the bunkers looked more like dirt but it was definitely sand. I didnt hit into any but my partner didnt seem to have any difficulty playing out of them. It was raining the day we went but I didnt notice any standing water any where on in the course except on the cart path in a couple areas. The first four holes seemed to be repetitive, straight par 4s but after those, there was a nice mix, particularly on the back 9, which had 3 par 3s and 3 par 5s. I will definitely come back again... this time on a sunny day.

Played the morning of May 30th and teed off two times later than our booked times ( courses fault, not ours) and we were constantly harassed by the Marshall on the course. I kept telling him we went off later than our listed times and the two guys they paired us with were slow but he didnt seem to care. Our round ended up being 4:38.....hardly slow enough to get talked down to on every 3rd or 4th hole. Played there once last year and was paired with two guys who never ever played golf before and the Marshal kept giving me crap....eventually he let us play ahead of them. Course was in decent shape, greens were nice but not enough to keep us coming back. If I wanted that kind of aggravation on a Saturday I would have just gone to work!

First time on the course, played midweek, early afternoon. The course is in pretty good shape, though some of the tee boxes are a little rough, especially the par 3s. And a couple of the par 3 greens are showing the effects of a wet summer and inconsiderate golfers who dont repair their ball marks. The course has a decent layout, not too much water to get you in trouble, and good use of elevation. A few of the fairways are narrow, but theres enough rough to keep you out of too much trouble if you miss the short grass. Clubhouse is simple, about what youd expect for a public course. The staff were helpful and efficient. Id go again.

HORRIBLE! I try to give this place a chance time after time and continues to be a terrible experience. Between rounds taking 6 hours to play because they cant seem to figure out how to organize tee times and the very poor green conditions I do not recommend this course to anyone. Also the rates are crazy for being in the condition it is. STAY AWAY! Save your money and play a quality course like renditions. Staff for the most part can be friendly but there is a young guy in the pro shop who has been unfriendly and unwelcoming almost every time Ive visited this course.

I played this course about 4 years ago and was skeptical of returning because of the conditions. Im glad that I returned. The course was in decent shape. Its evident that they are working to improve the course. Great layout! Played on a Saturday AM...pace of play was great. Course marshal was on the job!

Course is challenging, and long with several par 5 holes. The carts are in terrible shape (mine would barely start making me fear it would leave me stranded) and they do not allow outside drinks or coolers on the course. Overall, slightly overpriced for what you get.

I wouldnt touch this dog track with a 10 foot pole..sorry but always over packed with hacks. This place is cool if you like 5 hour rounds of golf sometimes longer...a very frustrating place to play a round of golf. DOG TRACK!!

The course was in really poor shape. The greens were inconsistent, tee boxes were beat up, most of the sand traps just dirt, and just generally poor. This course has such potential its a shame.

Course sucked and the staff were really rude. Even though we were way ahead of pace. They insited we skip 1 hole. Never again I will go to Compass Pointe. Place sucked

Course is in terrible condition! Muddy is front nine. Guess that why they start us back. But hey they had half off beers! That almost made up for the sloppy course.

The greens and fairways are in good shape. Water comes into play on a few holes, but the course is quite manageable for a beginner like myself.

Nice public course for the money. Well maintained, nice greens, not a lot of water, over fun course for the average golfer.

Fair layout. Not too many challenging holes. Good place to practice with a deal in tee times.

Front nine closed indefinitely, back nine looks like poop. Play anywhere else.
