I have been coming to this park for 10 years, and today the lady working in the activities building called the park ranger because she said "somebody was acting funny". I guess coming in the activities building to use the restroom and warm up is considered "acting funny". Wow. Needless to say, I wont be returning to this park to do my exercise anymore for fear that I might have to deal with this everyday. Plus, the outside bathroom by the playground is very disgusting and they never bother to get a new toilet seat out there. Pathetic. I would think that would be something more important to be concerned with than a regular visitor being in the activities building for less than 10 minutes. I always minded my own business there and never bothered anybody. Oh well.

This is a state park with a lot of soccer fields (reserved for leagues), baseball diamonds, tennis courts, swimming pool, BMX track, archery, trails, remote control airfield, trails, badminton and more. It is a well-used park when the weather is decent. There used to be an insane asylum on the property and you can find lots of remains from the roads and infrastructure that supported it, but no silly ghost stories that I know of. The replacement (Central State Hospital) is located right next to it. You can rent the Sawyer Hayes Community Center for events, which affords a nice space and lots of parking.

I go here for the dog park. My small dog loves to run this big 2 (I think) acher fenced in yard. The front part of the small dog area is a clear space perfect for running. The back is wooded nice shade for furbabies to relax. The big dog area is 4-6 (I think) achers of clear land and wood area... Both sides have a gazebo, benches and lawn chairs to us humans to relax in. Or if you want to you can walk around the trails. The big dogs have a nice trail that goes back tine the wooded area. Small dog area has a walk way on the fence line.

The best dog park in Louisville in my opinion. A key fob is required; to get one, go to feeders supply, fill out their form, pay them for the fob, bring updated shots paperwork from your vet, and registration of your dog. This will get you a membership dog tag (which must be visible at all times at the park) and the fob for a year. This will work at all other affiliated dogs parks in the Louisville area too. There are almost always a large pack of dogs, and they are all friendly and playful.

My husband and I went on a ghost hunt there. We got some good pictures plus I was touched by a ghost while walking between locations! My husband caught it on camera with his FLIR! He caught the ghost above me and then when it leaned down to pull my hair band off! Also caught a ghost in the cemetery, a bicycle that wasnt there on the FLIR, and ghosts outside the Big Barn. Please check out my Facebook page, I SPIghosts, for all the places Ive ghost hunted and pictures!

EP Tom Sawyer park is a nice park. The grounds crew keep the place clean and they cut the grass at least ounce a week. I like to play soccer their because they have about 6 or more fields. However, they often take the goals off of the field so there is no guarantee they will be there. Its a nice park to run or walk. There are trails around the park as well as trails through the woods. The park would be nice for picnics and that sort of thing as well.

Someone needs to remind the old park ranger that hes not a real cop... Sitting on the side of the road radar-ing peoples speeds and following people around the park who are just trying to walk their dog. Hes even followed me out of the park before onto westport many times. I live by tom sawyer and drive past it every day and Im tired of being harrased by an old man whos got an ego problem and is power hungry

I loved this park wish I could have brought it back home with me!! HUGE on our hike we got to see 4 deer that was cool.. kids loved it.. great place to hang out, play, walk, run, exercise except back home its not in one area its spread along the main walk path which I like better but I would say if you wanted to just go work out and leave then this is more ideal to have it in one area!

The park is nice and theres plenty of wildlife. But if you choose to walk to Goose Creek Trail, be warned that it is NOT well-marked. There are a number of places where other paths intersect and it is not clear which is the trail and which isnt. First time out, I wandered at least half a mile before finding out I wasnt on the trail when I came to one of the pavilions.

Best running events in town! If you are looking for a smaller running challenge such as a 5K, Tom Sawyer has lots to offer including their scenic courses with low rolling hills. Beautiful routes will wind you all through the park and the activities center is nice too! Events are very organized and parking is ample. 5 STARS FOR TOM SAWYER PARK!!!

Great park! So much to do, lots of options for exercise outside. Two separate playgrounds for kids, one in the main park area and one by the dog park. Wide mile-long gravel/dirt walking/running loop great for strollers. Lock your car doors! My friends purse was stolen from her car and police said its been happening there lately. (Summer 2016)

Just visited for the first time, and its a very pretty park. There is plenty of path available for walking, maybe 50% of it is shaded by large trees. There is an enormous amount of grass space available for sports that appears to be used for soccer leagues. Its not an incredibly large park, but its very nice and very clean.

This is a great place to stop by and stretch your legs, walk your dog, shoot your bow and pretty much anything else you can think of even those of you who like the BMX courses. I would recommend anyone who is visiting the Louisville area to stop by and enjoy the park. I plan on returning to this park in the near future.

Lovely park, many different activities to participate in. Swimming, soccer fields, tennis courts, BMX park, remote-control plane field, and trails, to name a few. Their trail maps are severely outdated/underdone, though. Careful you dont get lost in there if hikings your thing. (I have.) Really nice park.

Its a good sized park with lots of space for activities. Unfortunately, there are some trails with fire ant mounds and places where you cant help but find yourself in the way of stinging insects (wasps, bees, etc). Be mindful of your footing and trail meandering, or just pick a different park.

Great park for exercise, soccer, tennis, softball, and BMX biking. Main gravel walk paths are good for stroller running (if you have little ones). Plenty of wooded trails (and even smaller off-shoots) for you to get lost in and explore. Site of lots of cross country meets and fun runs.

Could you please put Cash Only at the swimming pool website. Nothing more inconvinient than wasting half hour looking for a bank because of poor communication. Renovated the pool area but cant get a debit card machine? Going back to Douglas s or Plainview.
