Ive been going to the Food & Wine Expo every November here for the last 5 yrs. Its gotten better every year. They have a very limited amount of food & snacks to try but they also offer a beer sample area in another separate "room". The location at the HyVee Hall area where the expo is held is very large & quite comfortable for the amount of people that show up. The expo is held in a room on the top level (top of the escalators) & the gourmet dinners are held downstairs on the main level. Ticket booths are upstairs for this expo. (Ive also had my University graduation here & this location was able to accomodate a very large crowd for that.) I usually end up parking in a parking garage & walking as parking nearby is $8 & fills up quickly.

It is big and any manner of event can be held here. I gave it 4 stars because parking is a nightmare here and they charge a ton (usually 8 bucks or more). They really need a parking ramp here. There are some a few blocks away, but if you are dressed formally for the event you dont want to sweat all the way there walking and no matter what you wear you dont want to walk all that way in the winter.

I have so many memories at Ampride. My dad, who passed in 2006, always stopped there when he was headed home or going on a trip. We would meet him there for a drink or a bite to eat. Restaurant got smaller over the years, but has great food!!! A lot of the waitresses are real friendly!!!

I went to the events center during Wizard World Comic Con and it was a wonderful time. I really enjoyed everything and the place was clean and neat. The people were helpful and very friendly.

Very large place for cocerts, special events, and sporting events. The parking is awful. Sometimes you may have to park 10+ blocks away.

The Hall of Pride is definitely worth a visit and the facilities of the event center are great for conferences and meetings.
