"Wheelchair access to Thomas Duncan Community Hall" I attended an excellent concert by The Tannahill Weavers (sponsored by The Friends of Bob) in the Ballroom of Thomas Duncan Community Hall. The raised stage made the sight lines pretty good, excellent from my position (4th row on the center aisle). I did not see the rest of the facility so I cannot comment on much; but I attended in a power wheelchair, so I can say that because I was given directions ahead of time access was pretty easy. There is one reserved wheelchair parking space in the lot behind the building. To find it you have to be an optimist, you enter the lot on one side of the building and despite the crowded conditions turn into the area behind the hall; at this point the situation looks hopeless but if you continue on through the rear lot you will be rewarded at the very end with a sign indicating "handicapped" parking on the other side. Sure enough on that side of the lot there is one clearly indicated "handicapped" parking space with just enough room next to it for my ramp; beyond this space the lot dead ends. However, there beyond is a ramp with a railing leading to a door! However the door is locked. I had been provided with a phone number to call to get it unlocked, which I had left at home, but my apparently able bodied husband entered through the front door and found someone to open it from the inside. Exiting after the concert was relatively uneventful. Unfortunately I did not try to use the bathroom so I cannot report on bathroom accessibility.

Beautiful Facility. Would recommend not having both ceremony and reception to at the venue. Also, wouldnt try and have more than 120 if you are going to have dancing. The lady was difficult during our whole experience. I think it had to do with us being young and her not having respect for us as she would for the brides parents. The man that helped us was very accommodating on the day of the wedding. He was kind and did everything he could to make the day go smoothly with a smile. Over-all it was a great experience, the mishaps were how the lady treated us and how she tried to schedule too many events on the day before the wedding and the day of the wedding. My friend had only and hour combined to set up for her wedding ceremony and reception because they dont provide adequate time to do so without paying extra. Make sure you are clear about what you want for your wedding and how you want it to go so there is no confusion. I think the price was fair for the facility. There are definitely better deals out there, but if the space and the environment fit your vision for your wedding, a little bit more money isnt going to be factor.

We just had our wedding at the hall and it was beautiful with very minimal decorating on our part. The hall itself is lovely and the stage was a great place to have the ceremony. We hired a pianist and she played the baby grand piano - it was lovely. I also appreciated how much Aura worked with me to make sure we would have enough seating for all the guests while also making enough room for me to walk down the aisle with both my parents. We had almost 200 guests and everyone had a place to sit. It was also comfortable for our guests and for the bridal party as the hall has lots of little rooms in which we could get ready and in which our guests could meander pre-wedding. Finally, I loved how many nice shots my photographer was able to get at the hall. The big windows make a great background and theres a little mini-garden thats nice for cozy shots as well. Overall - great experience!

My wife and I recently had our wedding reception at Duncan Hall. Everything was fantastic. Aura and Eric went above and beyond to make sure everything went perfectly. The space is intimate, and was the perfect size for our reception. After we looked at the place we were completely stunned by how affordable it is. The pricing was better than any of the other venues we looked at, and Duncan Hall was already our top choice. If youre looking for an event hall in Lafayette, Duncan Hall is the best of the best.

I had my wedding here in late October. We had our ceremony and reception here. I had to plan from out of town and Aura was amazing, helping with the layout, timeline, and suggesting vendors. This was such a gorgeous, historic place to hold our big day. The photographs turned out wonderfully and our turn around between the ceremony and reception only took 25 minutes because everyone helped out. Thank you all for making our day reasonably priced perfection!

I absolutely love how historic it is. Such a beautiful venue and for everything offered in just the basic package is amazing. We are currently working with Aura Lee to book our wedding next year and she is amazing. She painted a lovely picture for us and Im excited! This place is simply amazing and the stage is awesome as well. I recommend this place to anyone :)

We had our wedding ceremony and reception here, and it could not have gone any better! The staff was very helpful before and during the wedding, and we were able to successfully redecorate the place between the ceremony and reception. The hall is gorgeous! It is by far the best venue in the Lafayette/West Lafayette area.

I have photographed several weddings there. Its a clean, elegant, happy place. Things go smoothly, and it is an easy venue to make nice photographs. Its a gemstone of this city. The staff was extremely pleasant to work with! I planned a baby shower here and the staff was very helpful and easy to work with in this process. The venue was great. It has a lot of character so there is not a need for a lot of decorations. I would definitely recommend this venue!

The staff at Duncan Hall made planning our reception a breeze! The facility is beautiful on its own and hardly requires anything supplemental to be ready for an event. This is the best bang for your buck in Lafayette.
