So I dont take time out to write reviews very often and as former service industry I try not to judge a place on my single experience but this place needs to know that it has some work to do. Parking was awful but we finagled our way into a spot that was probably not legal. We sat on the patio on a nice evening with great views.and were greeted right away by friendly staff. We had an upbeat and kind server that took our order. Beer was just okay, and their menu was full of options except they were out of quite a few items. After some debate we found an option for my vegetarian fiancee and me. First round came out quickly, and then the food came out in to go boxes and a large brown paper bag.. The server laughed it off (she said she ordered it as dine in) and we made due. Our hummus order came out after apps and dinner. The hummus was definitely on a chair of our four top because the clam-shell food containers were occupying all the tables surface. We then discovered mold on a piece of pita. We quickly stopped eating the hummus and pita but semi-enjoyed the rest of the food. I ordered a beer and it came out when the food was almost gone. We didnt mention the moldy pita, but did ask for the beer again. The server brought a fresh beer and said it was poured but nobody ran it so she poured me a fresh one. I am still okay with the overall experience at this point. Upon asking for the check the happy server makes her way with the bill. I hand her my card and she returns promptly. I grab the pen and start to close out. The pen does not work after shaking said pen, banging against my chest and table, and trying to write on the receipt on multiple surfaces. The fiancee produces a sharpee from her purse but then I realize I have ink all over my hands and smeared now on my shirt. The dud pen was broken and leaking ink everywhere from the bottom. i cackled at the server but she was in conversation with a bachelorette party.in attempt to get soda water from her. My fiancee quickly performs an internet search and hand sanitizer is a way to offset a stain. She again goes to her purse and we start placing hand sanitizer all over the ink stain. It is kind of working and the waitress still doesnt notice from a table over (still with the bachelorette party) that I am in ink hell. I am furious but I can see the events to be happenstance so I do not let it affect my normal 25-30% cash tipping because former service industry folks have to stick together. Before I come back, brewers should have more options than 40-100 IBUs. Super hoppy to pretty hoppy does not encompass all beers. Some beers can be dark. All the hoppy beers without an ESB is a crime. Go to staples, grab some pens. My shirt is wrecked. If the food comes out in the wrong container, switch it. Veggie options should be available... always. Mold should not be an option. Really, a broken at the bottom pen?!?

We stopped by earlier today for a couple beers and food before the Colts game. We arrived and the Colts Pipes and Drums group had also just arrived. The group played a few songs for everyone and then moved on but it was a very cool experience. I had the workhorse IPA and the mango shandy, which were excellent. The mango shandy was definitely my favorite from the day. With the game starting at 1:30, we ordered wings from the limited menu about 12. After 40 minutes, we asked the manager to check on our order to find out that the food would be out "soon". Convinced that the order was just given to the cook we asked to cancel the order. Since we were out of time, we left and ate at the ball park. Based on just beer, this would be a five star review, unfortunately, the service took away from the overall good experience.

I have been here twice, soon to be three times, and overall, I really like this place. It has a great atmosphere, I love the Hook Up Shandler, and the time that I had a sandwich for lunch, it was very good. My only complaint is with the service. It is pretty slow and unorganized. I would give this 5 stars if it werent for the service. I am attributing it to the fact that its still on the newer side. Also, in my opinion, a brewery needs to have a burger available. I am bringing a bigger group here very soon, to include an out of town guest, and I really hope that the service has improved.

On a brewery crawl tonight and decided to try Tow Yard for the first time. We were disappointed that managenent only allows tastes of their own draft. We are porter/stout fans and they didnt offer much with their own local brews, and we were told we werent allowed to try other breweries. Never been told that before! Eneded up having an old raaputin which Ive had before but still disappointed. The food selection was good with their in house deli. Tried the carnitas fries and they were good. The live music also rocked. Overall nice place, resricted tasting for a brewery was a major turndown.

The menu was found to be very lacking, not a terribly distinct selection. The prices were fair for the food, if only the quality was better. Growler fills are normal at $10, but Im glad I brought my growler as it was $10 to buy ing l one. I have five growlers and this was the most Ive been asked to pay. The pints are high at $8, but the beers are flavorful and theres a decent selection. Ill return to get some growlers filed on occasion, but I wont be staying long. Oh, and a growler doesnt come with a extra beer, WTH.

Awesome place. For those who love the unique craft beers and seasonal options (like my husband), and for people (like me) who like non-hoppy lighter beers. The Goldie Hops and Hook Up Shanty are both light ....AND you can mix them to make their SHOWER beer option of the Shanty is too sweet for you. Food is unique and well done. I had the beer cheese pretzel appetizer and tacos. In good weather the patio is open with a great view of downtown.

Went on a Saturday night. They have 5 of their own beers. $5 ea. I liked the Horse Power. I ordered a roast beef sandwich. It came out with the sub completely burnt and hard- I could only eat one bite. Bartender apologized. I got fish tacos instead- - they were just OK. May try this place again because Layla the bartender was really nice. *But, probably will just grab a beer-no food (not great tasting & small portions for the price)

We had 13 people and they gave us a server who had only been on the job for 2 days. He did a great job for 2 days of experience, but the experience overall was awful. Food was mediocre, slow, and didnt come out as ordered. Beer wasnt served as ordered, and the restaurant wasnt even busy. Probably 10 other people here. Everyone in our group had a bad experience and none of us will be back.
